3 3. Making Friends

Soon we arrived at the foot of the castle. We got out of the carriage at its gates, paid the guy and entered.

Two guards were stationed at the gates. Both in beautiful armour, and holding a spear and a shield in their hands, while a sword hung at their side.

The name of the academy was engraved on the wall right above the gates.

"Leviathan Academy of Spellcasting," I read out loud.

The academy was beautiful. There were three humongous buildings in the center, while two tall watchtowers were set up near the castle gates.

The floor was all stone tiles, although a few trees grew here and there accompanied with some pleasant grass to lay and relax on. I made an entire round around the buildings. Behind the buildings the area was entirely taken up by well maintained grass, with hundreds of benches scattered across the place and a line of stalls in the distance.

They were food stalls I assumed. Although at the moment they were empty.

All kinds of trees grew here and as I walked through the greenery, with my bare feet against the grass, I even came across a few flower beds. I did spot a few older students engaging in some real intensive activities where the grass grew very tall and wasn't trimmed yet.

By the time I circled back and returned to the front of the buildings, I noticed that the only people walking around the place currently were either professors or older students. None looked my age.

Was their an orientation for the first years going on? Shit!

I rushed into the building in the middle, and found myself in a big hall with a vaulted ceiling, an empty podium set at the far wall, two doors to the left and a wide set of stairs leading to the next floor to the right.

It was mostly empty, save for 4 students speaking anxiously to each other and the paintings set on the walls.

They seemed to be my age. And from the atmosphere they probably missed the orientation too.

"Hi, I'm Victor Crowley," I held out my hand to one of them.

He was a broad-shouldered blonde around my height, dressed just like me in a short royal blue cloak with a white full sleeved vest underneath, and cuffs decorated in silver. The pants themselves were royal blue as well, and he wore nothing on his feet either.

"Percy. Percy Wellington," he said and shook it. There was a blonde beside him with braided hair and blue eyes who Percy introduced to me as his twin sister, Hera Wellington.

The third person was a short guy with dimples, brown hair and grey eyes, he, Percy said was Kitt Halberd. The fourth was a pudgy girl, almost my height, with long red hair and red eyes.

"And she's Selene Middleton."

I shook hands with her too.

So Percy, Hera, Kitt and Selene. Usually I was bad with names, but these seemed easy enough to remember.

Kitt informed me that they themselves arrived just a minute after the orientation and the academy tour was done, and they had been conversing since then, on what to do. Selene seemed to know the most about the place, but said that only a senior or a Professor was allowed to conduct the tour.

And they were all trying to convince Selene that it won't be a big deal.

They then asked me what class was I in, I replied with Magical Formations. And turned out each of them were in the same class, except for Percy, who was in Summoning.

Just then Professor Artemis walked out of one of the doors to the left.

"Late to the orientation?" She asked.

We nodded our heads.

She turned to me, "You were on time Mr. Victor, why didn't you attend the orientation?"

"I forgot about it while checking out the garden in the back," I bowed my head as an apology.

That was only partly true. I was sure that this body had received a message that there would be an orientation, but I didn't remember any of his memories! Except for the language, thank you goddess for atleast giving me that much.

"Alright, I'll give you guys a tour, don't lag behind." Saying so she handed me the books she was carrying and began climbing the stairs.

I looked at the book on the top.

Advanced Rune Formations.

If a Level 51 Spellcaster was reading this book then it should sell for a lot shouldn't it?
