1 Time Has Come

Looking at the vast, beautiful and big Winston University, Kyra was actually looking at the new start, a new chapter of her life. She was away from her home town, far away and left all her bad memories there.

Here, the purpose of coming was to open herself to the opportunities, which she craved so much for last 5 years while she was being home schooled for some unexplainable reasons. She had to convince so hard to her Dad and her both brothers that she would be fine here; that convincing included crying, moping for days, and being on occasional hunger strikes!

At last, after so many convincing, agreeing to call every day and many other things, she was finally here to start her life. Her time has come.

One must think that this was a little too much for a family to do. But the one who knows the whole story, they know that how hard it can be for a family, who has to send their only daughter to a far away college on 8 hour flight.

Kyra entered the large campus, looking and gawking at few things along the way, she finally reached to the reception desk where she had to get her schedule for the semester. After retrieving, as she went out of the office, she heard someone say—

"They are here!"

Kyra looked at her right, a bunch of girls at the turning corner were giggling and talking among themselves. But one them was loud enough for Kyra to hear.

Must be someone important, Kyra thought and went out of there looking down at her schedule. Her first class was of Astronomy by Mr. Till.

Kyra frowned, well, a strange name indeed!

Kyra tried to locate her class through the map given, but as good as it can be, she was really very bad at reading maps. So, that she tried to follow it, she reached a place where finally no one could be seen and she doubted that she was in the right direction anymore. The place was silent and dark and also a little damp and few metres away the were some big boulders and few cement bags to which it can be said that it was under construction part of the University.

And that she was lost!

This might be the most pathetic way of getting lost considering she was holding a map in her hand.

Kyra stopped walking any further and turned around to see that there were not a single life to be seen. How the hell will she get out of here? She didn't even know anyone here and it was her first day. She's already in some trouble. Great! So much for telling she'll be fine.

Kyra closed her eyes and let out a heavy breathe in an attempt to calm herself.

'Can my day get any better?' , she muttered to herself and started walking again in search of a way to get out of here. But as she walked further, she heard a few people talking or more likely discussing.

The floor of the construction site was still not completed. The gravels, sand and pieces of dried cement were all over the ground. And so the sounds of the footsteps coming from Kyra's shoes was not a very discreet way and that sound eventually alerted the people speaking.

Actually, Kyra only wanted to ask for the way to get out of here and also ask the direction to her class. That's why when she heard that the talking has stopped, she got a little further and ask, "Anyone here?" She waited for someone to answer.

The area she was standing, a little ray of sunlight was spilling through the made shift window. As she thought that no one was going to answer her, she heard sounds of the foot steps and suddenly saw a silhouette of a man.

This silhouette was big and tall in size but since light didn't reach there, so Kyra tried to squint her eyes but couldn't see the face.

She was alone here and no one in this University knew she was here as it was her first day but getting lost was not the plan and a silhouette of a stranger as big as this man was certainly not included. But she didn't have any other option so she tried to grasp this opportunity. Gathering some courage she asked again,

"Can you tell me the direction to get out of here? I'm actually kinda lost." Kyra shrugged a bit but she didn't get any reaction from the opposite man.

Suddenly, the silhouette started walking towards her slowly. Soon, he reached the place where the sunlight was spilling from the window. And as Kyra looked at the face of the man, all her words got stuck in her throat. She felt like she couldn't speak anymore. She has never encountered anyone like him in her life. The pull she felt towards him was undeniable.

Little did she know that from this time, she life was going to be changed. Not everything is going to be in her control.
