Tang Jinghao turned off the TV. The patient turned to her doctor to ask why she did that.

"It's already midnight. You should go to bed."

"Dr. Tang, is your family going to be able to hold their spot as most powerful family? Does the Tian family have a chance?"

"Stop being snoopy. By the way, I don't even know the answer myself. I haven't been home for a few days. I'm always busy working here at the hospital. I never got a chance to call and ask." Tang Jinghao sighed.

Her father kneeled down on the cold floor. It looked like he had turned twenty years older in a span of two seconds. Her mother was crying and sobbing at the other end of the couch.

She helped him up and led him to sit back on the couch.

A teardrop fell from his eyes.

Tang Lun had already contacted the Tian family and told them about how they should connect with a marriage. Surprisingly, they agreed to the request. The two families were going to meet at the Tian Residence.

Initially, Tang Han, Tang Jinghao's older brother, was against this idea, but they didn't have any other choice to save the company.

The Tian family's mansion was massive and it had an ancient style, unlike the Tang family's residence which had a more modern vibe to it.

The security was very tight and before they could enter, many passwords were entered in the multiple gates and doors. There were different types of locks and the bodyguard who was ordered to escort them unlocked all of them. He was very fast at putting in the passcodes because he didn't want them to find out what they were, or else his bosses would fire him.

"Please come inside."

When they walked in, there were antiques in every room and corner of the house. The bodyguard led them upstairs into a room. There was a long table and the members of the Tian family were already sitting on one side. However, there was only a man and a woman. They looked young and Jinghao only realized that they were her future parent-in-laws when her father greeted them.

The Tang family sat on the opposite side.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Tian."

Her father shook the man's hand and Tian Jiang replied, "I am also pleased to meet you."

"We're here to discuss about the engagement between my daughter and your son. Um...where is he?"

At that second, a handsome man entered the room.

"I'm sorry for being late. I was busy at the company. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Tang."

He politely shook her parents' hands and bowed his head when he saw Tang Jinghao. Then, he sat down besides his father.

During their meeting, Tang Han had suspicions about Tian Liwei because he would make long stares at his sister and he would try to make eye contact with her. He would rub his temples every now and then, too.

The Tang family was walking back to the car when Tang Jinghao realized that she forgot her purse in the room. She excused herself and went back to the mansion and went upstairs to the room.

Once she grabbed her purse and walked back down the hallway, she heard murmuring coming from another room.

"...is she the one? Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. I checked their family's bloodline. They are definitely the descendants. I'm sure of it."

"I agree with Father. The woman was able to block out my thought waves. Only a descendant would be able to do that."

There was a long silence and the door was abruptly opened. There was nobody there. Tang Jinghao had already realized that they noticed her presence, so she immediately walked down the stairs to hide herself.

Fortunately, she wasn't caught, so she quickly walked to the car and drove her family home.

When she got home and entered her room, she got ready to go to sleep and she laid on her bed. All night, she couldn't go to sleep because she was thinking about what the Tian family said. Thought waves? Descendants? Bloodline? What nonsense are they talking about?
