I spent four years inside the Barthomeloi estate, both looking through different mage crafts and training in the mist-breathing technique.
The two characters of Koichi and Afro were assimilated a couple of years ago and since I became Barthomeloi Lucas, I never touched the point gacha.
Yes, I kept accumulating points and didn't spend them, the only form of gacha I used was the common one, that refreshed daily.
From it, I got mostly useless stuff, like food or some branded clothing, except for some rare draws like talismans or scrolls.
The talismans and scrolls were weak nonetheless, cleaning, drying, and other mundane stuff.
They helped me train for more time by taking away from me the need of going to wash and clean, alongside eating as the daily draw always gave me some food, alongside the food that the servants brought me every day, I was holed up in the library all the time.
And thanks to this I was able to have a lot of progress in the task given to me.
Master some sort of magecraft to perfection.
The moment I started integrating both Koichi and Afro, I already knew what to choose as the first magecraft to practice, alongside another that was chosen due to the mist breathing technique.
It was difficult finding anything to connect the mist breathing technique with the original mist breathing that didn't have the visual effects shown in the manga or anime, I had to come up with a magecraft to incorporate with the sword style, and after a long search, I decided to use alchemy as a substitute.
Alchemy concentrates on the transformation of matter and the one spell that made me think of alchemy was transmutation.
Using transmutation I can turn the element into all its forms, be it solid, liquid, or gaseous.
The difficult part was to generate said mist while using transmutation, I had to find a source of water to turn into mist and practice from there to integrate it into the mist-breathing technique.
Once I was able to perform the first couple of forms of mist breathing using transmutation, I had to find another way to have large quantities of water, always with me.
I can't walk around carrying a canister of water all the time, can I?
The alternative I came to was using my body's water to transmute into the mist.
The human body has approximately 42 liters of water, fog contains nearly 0.5 ml per cubic meter.
With this, I was able to generate mist out of my own body without external factors, but that left me with the body slowly losing all water and dehydrating.
This is where I had to use the breathing technique to inhale back some of the lost moisture.
And the other magecraft that I learned was reinforcement magecraft.
Overall I was able to learn 4 of the seven forms of mist breathing alongside the breathing itself, had to modify all of this so I can use mist breathing with the visual effects added on top and make sure I don't become a mummy from evaporating all the water in my body, lastly reinforcing either my body or weapon to fight better.
It could be said that instead of transmutation I could have used some other magecraft, but to integrate said magecraft in my fighting style with the breathing technique would have taken more time and effort.
After 4 years of agony, I was finally able to use mist breathing to its full potential, without any risk to my body, so as a prize I decided to reward myself with some draws on the point gacha.
After all, today will be the day I finally leave the Barthomeloi estate and go to the clock tower.
I had already relayed my request to leave the estate, and today I will be tested on my progress through a fight in the evening to see if I achieved perfection in at least one magecraft.

It seems that fate itself wants me to participate in the holy grail war, and take the place of Ryuunosuke.
Throwing these thoughts to the side for the moment I proceed to press the first of the normal 10-draw.

Wow.
Looking at these first ten draws I am surprised, they are all good.
Even Sakura's bento is tasty I tried it the first time.
Thinking of how good this one was I go for the next 10.

Am I dreaming? Or did oxygen stop going to my brain, how can the draws be so good?
I even expected such luck and all the characters I got that are related to the nasuverse are caster-class servants, if this is not a sign I don't know what else is.
I didn't waste time and instantly looked at the most worrisome draw I had.

This version is a physical being existing in the real world, due to having a body she lost all her powers when in control of the dating sim.
She may ask you to summon her friends if you choose to bring her into reality.

Thank god she's not an omnipotent god, for a moment I was worried that the powers she had in the game will show in reality.
With this out of the way I already started the absorption of the characters I wanted and readied myself for the test, I will have to finally leave the estate.
Going through the halls of the Barthomeloi estate I arrived at the front of the main hall like last time, ready to face what they prepared for me.
" you are here at last Barthomeloi Lucas"
A strict voice was coming from the other side of the door that led to the main hall, and upon opening the door Barthomeloi Lorelei was there looking at me with a scrutinizing gaze.
" I was merely preparing myself to prove that I'm ready to show the dignity of a Barthomeloi" I chose my words wisely as for every Barthomeloi the honor of the family comes first, and only later the individual itself.
" I see that your determination to leave this place is high. But are you sure of being able to impress me enough to say you can be the best, even for a beginner? " the atmosphere was getting heavier as if I were to be even in the slightest a failure I would become the greatest shame of the Barthomeloi.
It seems that the only thing that made me persist for four years straight was the assimilation of Afro and Koichi.
" I ensure the family head that I will excel in weather test I may be posed to do " I needed to get her approval the most to finally leave this cage of a house.
"Great, I already prepared for you an opponent. The faster you deal with it the better " I didn't have time to process her words as a growl came from behind me, and instantly without thinking my body moved on its own, making me doge whatever was behind me that tried to sneak on me.
I looked over to where I previously was and noticed a ghoul standing there turning its head to look at me.
Without any delay, I sprinted inside the main hall with a little bit of strengthening on my legs grabbing a sword hanging on the wall and positioning myself to face the ghoul.
The ghoul didn't even need to be reminded as he once again jumped at me trying to aim for my shoulder.
With a swift move, I circulated the mist-breathing technique and strengthened the two-handed sword to attack the ghoul.
Once he was only one meter away I performed the first form of mist breathing, while using transmutation to generate mist around myself in hopes to disorientate it.
" First Form: Low Clouds, Distant Haze " I unleashed a trust aiming for its head, successfully landing the hit and piercing it.
But even with a hole in its head, the ghoul moved somehow, approaching me again after the bolw I gave him.
Seeing him still moving I readied myself once again to attack.
" Second Form: Eight-Layered Mist " mist once again started coming out from my body as it flowed alongside the blade in my hand when I performed the technique, with eight slashes in rapid succession one on top of the other, slicing the ghoul into pieces to make sure he couldn't move again.
Only after a couple of minutes that the remains of the ghoul didn't move I turned to the side where Lorelei was standing looking at me.
"good work for someone without prior experience, and the quick response to the situation, the fact that the blade didn't break after you reinforced it enough to do such damage to the ghoul means you have at the very least mastered this magecraft, overall I give you my approval to finally frequent the lessons at the clock tower. But the moment I hear of you ruining the noble name of the Barthomeloi by being not up to standard, you shall return here and spend the rest of your existence as another nobody that was unable to bear the burden of the name Barthomeloi" hearing her I only now noticed the blade being a decorative one.
Generally, decorative blades tend to break in intense battles, and as I used mist breathing with this European-styled blade if I didn't strengthen it, I think it would snap mid-fight.
" I thank the head for being this generous with me" I kept calm as my heart was racing due to this being my first actual fight, and the experiences and character of Afro and Koichi being the only things keeping me composed through the whole ordeal.
"Good to know. Tomorrow the servants will escort you to the clock tower where one of my subordinates will guide you throughout the day" With these last words Lorelei left the main hall leaving me with the corpse of a ghoul and a heart that was going to explode due to the stress I put it through.
