84 A Friend In Need

"*Boom*"

When the tail hit Amelia, she bounced back near the water.

Amelia, who was expecting to be crushed by the tail, only felt a few of her bones broken and were already healing from the broken vial in her hand.

"Thank you, Albus…" Amelia said, remembering a shield appearing in front of her and Albus, who was still pointing his wand at her.

"I am sorry, Amelia; I wasn't able to react quickly" Dumbledore apologized as he could only use silent {Protego}.

While silent casting can be a helpful tool that can tip the scales of a battle, it can also apply the other way around.

Silent casting spells are less potent than the version of the caster's spells with an incantation. So if two equals fight with the same spells, the person who used incantation with his spells is powerful.

While Dumbledore reacted and silent cast with speed, not his age, if he used {Protego} with an incantation, the magic shield would have taken the hit and still stood firm.

Dumbledore is not only powerful, but he also holds the Elder Wand, the wand crafted by death himself. So if he can, he can cast a shield that can take an impact from a high-speed truck.

These 'rules' only apply to wizards and witches in this world because they unknowingly placed a limit on themselves. In reality, silent spells can be as powerful as the spells with incantation, but it just takes more concentration and skill.

From the water, a giant Basilisk came out, hissing its fangs.

As suggested, everyone looked either at its fangs or forehead instead of its eyes when they saw the Basilisk coming.

"OH, Morgana!" Amelia said under her breath. She was so close to her death by this Basilisk, who was almost 100 feet, probably more than the lifespan of a recorded Basilisk which is 500 years.

Without turning to Asura, Dumbledore asked "Asura, most snakes will listen to a speaker; a person who can speak Parseltongue. Can you command him?"

⚕Speak to me Slytherin, the greatest of Hogwarts four⚕ Asura said, as he remembered Tom could summon and control the Basilisk from a Horcrux memory.

Basilisk showed no response, which made Asura stunned for a second. He was confident he could talk to the Basilisk.

Opening his Dojutsu, he saw an unknown magic signature inside the brain of the Basilisk.

"Albus… I sense unknown magic in the brain of the Basilisk… I think someone is controlling it forcefully" said Asura, informing Dumbledore.

Dumbledore then confirmed Asura's theory after using his Mage Sight.

Amelia, healed, replied "Why is the Basilisk not attacking?"

Dumbledore was also intrigued by Basilisk's behavior; after its first attack on Amelia, the weakest in their group, it stood still and was not moving.

Suddenly, the Basilisk started shivering, causing both Dumbledore and Amelia to tense.

Dumbledore decides it is enough; he casts "{Confringo}."

A red light came out of his wand and launched toward the Basilisk, causing it to explode. But instead of seeing pieces of flesh, Dumbledore saw the basilisk explode into stone pieces.

"Huh… was it a fake?" questioned Amelia.

The ground started trembling again, and numerous Basilisks began appearing from the surrounding water.

"Someone is definitely toying with us" Asura said, seeing numerous Basilisks which can attack them at any minute.

Dumbledore and Amelia thought almost all these Basilisks were fake, leaving one basilisk, the real one, that could prettify them if they looked at its eye.

"What do we do Albus?" asked Amelia, feeling helpless. If all these Basilisks attacked at once, she was sure she would be crushed under its tail this time, or somehow she accidentally looked at the real Basilisk's eyes, she would be petrified.

'I am weak' Amelia thought regrettably. Though compared to an average wizard, she is almost at the top. But when compared to people like Voldemort or even Bellatrix, she can easily get crushed by their prowess.

Amelia may look like a coward and a submissive woman, but in reality, she can be dominant and commanding as she is the Head of the Auror Department. Currently, she is facing a Basilisk which was large and older than almost all the recorded Basilisks, so her mind is jumbled.

Asura brought out his wand and cast "{Maxima Glacius}".

"Blizz…" cold, freezing ice came from Asura's wand. Asura then brought his wand on top of his head and twisted his wand around in a circle, causing the large ice vapor to start freezing all the Basilisks.

Slowly the Basilisks, which were frozen, started cracking and smashed into pieces, making Dumbledore and Amelia realize none of them were real.

"Thank you, Asura" Dumbledore thanked Asura as he was about to launch a large spell.

"So? None of them was the real Basilisk?" Amelia questioned, as she knew that the Basilisks' skin is resistant to magic, and a simple spell from Asura wouldn't be able to hurt it.

"It seems so" Dumbledore gravely said, as he already realized that someone was controlling that Basilisk by making it play these tricks.

There is no way that the Basilisk is smart enough to make a stone statue of itself and attack them, and also, Basilisk is the King of the Serpent, so its pride wouldn't allow playing these sneaky games.

"{Homenum Revelio}" Amelia cast a charm which revealed the presence of another person, but sadly she couldn't find anything.

Amelia is almost at the end of her cards; she can't apparate, doesn't have a port key, and can't find the location of the Basilisk. It is as horrible as it could get.

Asura obviously could easily find its location through his Dojutsu, or could just sense it. Still, he wanted to see what this Basilisk was doing and what Amelia and Dumbledore, the next merlin, could do in this situation.

Asura felt a sting in his heart unknowingly for thinking of leaving Dumbledore alone to fight the Basilisk.

Dumbledore was wise and experienced, as the others say, but unfortunately, he was hiding a big secret from everyone, which might change his public opinion.

Dumbledore turned around. At first, he thought of asking his friend Asura, but after realizing that he is the Supreme Mugwump and the 'strongest' wizard alive, the thought of asking another person for help embarrassed him.

"Asura takes Amelia… if the Basilisk escapes, the whole wizarding world would be in danger. So I will handle this matter" Dumbledore said, as he thought the Basilisk's first target would be Amelia as the weakest in the group.

In a battle such as this. There are many unpredictable variables; protecting and fighting someone simultaneously can be challenging. Also, someone is controlling the beast, so they might choose to attack when either Dumbledore or Asura let their guard down.

Hearing Dumbledore, Asura's first thought was to deny him that he. Asura, the strongest in the world that can destroy the entire planet, would never run from a powerless beast. But something inside him is telling him to listen to Dumbledore.

Asura never felt this way. On the contrary, he always commanded people and treated them as expendable other than his loved ones. But for the first time in his life, he listened to someone's command.

Asura's problem was not following Albus's command. The problem was something inside him was insisting not to leave Dumbledore alone. He knew that this might be the last battle of Dumbledore.

'A friend huh?' Asura thought. He somehow fell into his own trap; he wanted Dumbledore to believe he was his closest friend.

'It seems without me knowing, I have gotten too close to Dumbledore' Asura thought with regret.

The thought of leaving Albus, which can result in Dumbledore's death, hurts more than Asura expected.

"Very well, Albus. But I will come back" Asura said as he followed Amelia, who too was reluctant to leave, but she knew she would just be the weak link in the group.

Dumbledore, with his usual grandfather smile, said "No… I need to deal with this on my own… This is something personal, and I have already decided, Asura."

Asura wouldn't listen in these situations where the chance of winning is unknown.

In this situation, Asura would either lie to him and say he wouldn't come back or argue back. But remembering their time during their friendship, he decided to fulfill Dumbledore's wish by nodding his head.

"If that is what you wish… and don't die on me… friend" Asura said, feeling genuine sadness.

Seeing Asura and Amelia leaving, Dumbledore thought 'I don't have much time, anyway.'

Dumbledore knew that Asura was more powerful than him. Even so, he insisted Asura leave, and he will deal with the Basilisk and the one behind it himself.

'I would be a fool to believe that the prophecy still exist… I became too senile. I will take it into my own hand…' Dumbledore thought regrettably.

It's been a while since Dumbledore has been questioning his own beliefs. One of the central beliefs he has been debating was about the 'Chosen One' -Who is the chosen one?

Dumbledore already realized that Harry is not who he seems; his behavior and personality resemble one of his once favorite students -Tom Marvolo Riddle. Yet, sometimes Dumbledore has a nagging feeling that somehow Harry is or can be worse than Tom.

Raising his wand, suddenly, his wand, which looked like an Elder Wand, slowly changed into something he felt nostalgic about.

'Hello, old friend… Sorry for leaving you aside.' Dumbledore thought as he looked at his wand in his hand.

It's been a long time since he used his old wand, which shared the same core type as the Elder Wand -Thestral.

'I will leave my wand, my companion Fawkes and the wizarding world to you, Asura' Dumbledore thought.

Albus left the Elder Wand in his office, as he knew the Elder Wand had been fighting back. Its new ownership has long changed to Asura.

Yes, Dumbledore knew that the Elder Wand changed its alliance to Asura. He can be aloof and old sometimes, but he is still Albus Dumbledore's defender of Grindelwald and the next Merlin.

Dumbledore can sense whenever Asura visited him, the wand he always held in hand was reacting to Asura. The wand longed to be held by Asura, so he left it for him, as he felt the chances of leaving this battle alive were very low.

'Maybe Asura is the chosen one' Dumbledore questioned again. This has been his debate from the time Harry came to the school. One of the reasons he has been having friendly debates is to judge Asura's character.

"*Sigh*… Fudge AGAIN rejected my proposal… and almost all the other countries secretly support Tom. I hope Asura can handle this by himself… You can come out, my boy" Dumbledore said out loud.

A/N: I have uploaded Q&A in the Auxiliary Volume, so read that chapter as I wrote some questions you have.

The story will start to pick its pace, as I think it's enough slice of life.

I think there is enough foundation for Asura in the wizarding world, and the actual story with gods, ****, and ***… will soon be happening.
