Hate Illusions

Sentry broke the sound barrier once she was out of DC, racing to get back to her turf. She had mixed feeling about the Justice League. On one hand it is a group that is totally needed for the planet to actually survive the waves of evil tyrants that want to rule the planet. But, on the other hand, they cannot be totally trusted. All it takes is one bad day, as the Joker likes to say, for their justice to become corrupt justice. One dose of Joker Venom to turn Batman into the Batman who laughs. Killing Superman's wife could change him into a dictator. Manipulating the timeline could cause Diana to become a warlord!

All that power is just too much to be left unchecked. Sure, Batman has contingencies but this is DC, no secret files about weaknesses will remain secrets for long, that's the driving point of the plot. And if you are a side character, then you will become a cautionary tale to the heroes. Case in point. She could feel a kind of energy lock onto her, making her stop as a force field quickly covered her. The energy disappeared but she wasn't stupid enough to remove her forcefield.

"Quite the vigilant child, aren't you?" a deep booming voice said as the speaker appeared out of a portal in front of her. He was a buff man, bald wearing a crystal necklace.

"Can I help you?" Sentry asked him.

"I hear you possess strength equal to the man of steel, being of the same race. I have come to see whether you bleed!" the man said before a punch hit her right on the face, making her turn her head a little as a shockwave blew the clouds away.

"There's two of you!" Sentry growled as she saw the one who punched her was actually the same person.

"Very good, Atlas is pleased by your display of..." The man did not get to finish for Sentry had retaliated. She punched him so hard a sonic boom was formed from his retreating figure.

"I will not be challenged by someone speaking to himself in third person, it's a personal goal of mine," she shouted back at him before looking at the first figure that slowly disappeared in front of her.

'An illusion! I need to find the caster, fast!" she thought as she looked to the ground where she saw a Hispanic woman looking up at her.

"There you are!" she cried out before blasting towards her only to somehow crash into the ground when she swore she was a few tens of feet away, making a crater.

"She deceived my depth perception!" Sentry realized. Making a few calculations, she knew that she was further from civilization so she could let loose a little bit. With this woman having such profound control over illusion that she could deceive her senses, she had to use her brain and her brain told her to be a muscle head. So, she punched the ground hard enough to cause an explosion of earth that sent a shockwave armed with stones in an omni-direction for a few miles. She asked hen flew to the sky and looked at the destruction she had caused, trying to locate the woman only to see the buff man had shielded her.

"Atlas is impressed. If he had not arrived in time then you would have truly killed his partner, La Encantadora. But, Atlas will now stop playing!" Atlas said before giving a war cry and blasting towards her.

Sentry knew as long as you he woman was still around she could not trust her senses. Good this she had more senses. She closed her eyes and senses the molecules all around her. Immediately, the world all around her was illuminated, forming perfect pictures of every single thing all around her. She could see that the woman had made her looking in the other direction as Atlas attacked behind her, which was quite genius. Cloud her mind with illusions while a man packing enough punch to go toe to toe with Superman attacked her relentlessly.

She opened her eyes and sidestepped Atlas whose eyes widened in shock. She was amazed by his reflexes as he corrected himself midair, turning with a heavy punch that she dodged too but when she retaliated, her punch went through Atlas meaning the his was an illusion as a blow hit her chest, sending her flying to the ground.

"Still no blood! Atlas is displeased by your tenacity, he implores you to bleed or you will suffer more!" Atlas said with a slightly irritated tone.

"Those illusions are incredible," Sentry said as she got off the little crater she just made. "But not enough to actually have you make me bleed. That's disappointing." Atlas just scoffed.

"Ambushing a Kryptonian alone is a recipe of failure, Atlas learned that the hard way," Atlas said before he disappeared from her vision. Sentry slowed her perception to a crawl, waiting. She made a forcefield cover her just half an inch around her body. When she felt something impact the forcefield, her hands shot out and got hold of muscular hand in a death grip.

"Something else you must know about Kryptonians, our speed isn't for show," she sneered at the flabbergasted man before swinging him by his hand and slamming him onto the ground like a ragdoll several times before he fell unconscious. Just in case, she kept her death grip on his hand as she rose to the sky to look for the woman.

Seeing her flee, she flew over and tried to tackle her only to fly through her figure. Now she was really hating illusions, especially this holographic looking ones! They even smelled the same and had innards like they were real. She tried a few more times before she was truly pissed off.

"You can't run away!" she said as she put forward her free hand. From it came forth a black mist that spread forward, covering a few miles in three seconds. Atlas started coughing hard before her shat on himself, hard in just a minute of exposure. Listening hard, she heard a woman gasping for hair followed by movement of bowel before he brought the mist back into herself. She approached the woman who was writhing on the ground having a coughing fit and shatting on herself profusely.

"What...What have you done to me?" she asked in fear.

"You have illusions, I have diseases. You just inhaled bacteria that just trick the body into...well, making you pass out everything you have in your intestines. The coughing is just the bacterias filling your lungs and multiplying before spreading to your bloodstream and settling into your brain. Don't worry, they have a timespan of one minute and the third generation cannot reproduce. You have nine minutes of diarrhoea so just enjoy." Suddenly, the woman took out a chunk of green Kryptonite from her pocket and pointing it at her weakly. Sentry sighed tiredly before taking the chunk and throwing it to space.

"It's not even funny any more!" she sighed again before going to get hold of her only for her arm to go through her figure. The illusion distorted and the real La Encantadora was seen trying her best to crawl away.

"I really hate Illusions!" Sentry sighed as she caught up with the woman only to have her fade away, surprising her. Looking around, she saw her get into a portal that quickly shut behind her!

"Fucking illusions!" Sentry roared.
