Chapter Two

I could already hear my friends screaming and laughing before I even turned the corner. They were known for being loud, well, Sebastian and Kia were. We used to meet around shops often as loitering around shops was the most entertaining thing to do in Glenrouge but shop owners started complaining how we were driving out customers away so they a majority of them banned us from hanging by their shops if we weren't buying any.

That's why we all met at Joey's uncle's shop instead. We were welcomed there and he didn't care if we were being loud and he also gave us beer for free, we saw it as a win/win situation for us.

"Monty!" Sebastian called, waving his cigarette butt on the air, letting the ash from it fall into the ground.

The three of them walked towards me as I continued to cycle before hopping off my bike.

Sebastian slapped my back before going in for a hug, dropping his cigarette but onto the floor. "Thought you weren't gonna come."

"I wasn't gonna until I realised yous wouldn't stand a chance of surviving in there without me." I said.

"Please Monty, do you discredit us that much?" Kia rolled her eyes, nodding her head to Joey. "We got in last because we were instructed to bring beer."

I cocked my head to get to look at Joey who smiled as he lifted up the crate of beer, the glass inside clinking as he did so before looking back at Kia. "So you were instructed to bring in beer again this year?"

Kia was taken aback for a second. Sebastian scratched his awkwardly, playing with the cigarette that was behind his year while Joey awkwardly looked at the crate of beer, playing with his feet.

"No, but with the beer, nothing can stop up from going in. I'm sure of it." Kia answer, no longer fazed by the question with her faux confidence.

"Whatever you say." I muttered, holding my bike as we all walked down the street together. "Where are we even going?"

"The hill." Joey said. The bottles of beer softly clanking with each step he took.

I tensed up slightly, feeling chills going down my back. "By the forrest or?"

"Well there's only one hill we know of." Sebastian said, placing the cigarette in his mouth before lighting it. "Oi, be careful with the beer crate over there. There's some valuable drink in there."

Joey nodded absentmindedly, the summer heat getting to him.

I grimaced over Sebastian's actions, not being able to endure an hour of him smoking. Between him and Ma' they'd probably smoked enough cigarettes to be win an award on the Guinness Book of Records. I wouldn't mind if they won though, they both needed the money. I often wondered if they even knew how much it was affecting their health at times and how much it'd take for them to stop smoking.

"If we get there and they don't need beer Key I will actually kill you." I said, looking down at her.

Kia scoffed. "They will not. Have. Beer. Stop doubting me."
