Starred Up

Deen, a seven year old boy, arrives in Korea with his mother Mia. With a strong determination to raise her son properly, Mia ensures Deen lacks no love in his life. In her spare time, Mia is a huge fangirl of the Korean boy group, TNT. But in an unexpected twist of fate, the mother-son duo end up being the neighbors of D3, another legendary boy group, which happens to be TNT's biggest rival. D3 consists of the short tempered Taewon, gentle Joon Jae and the goofy Jan. On top of that, Mia is hired as the personal designer for TNT, which consists of the charismatic leader Soo-Yon and the playboy maknae Cheng. Despite the rocky start, Mia and her son grow closer to all the members of both the groups. With time, the members realize they have fallen in love with the same woman, disrupting each group's dynamics. Furthermore, the origins of the hostility between the two groups resurface, making everyone involved question the decision they made a decade ago. As secrets unfold, the members vie for Mia's affections, Deen observes that she has eyes only for one of them. But which one of them will she choose? Taewon-A Sasaeng?

I stood there, tapping my foot impatiently. Where the hell did Joonjae disappear off to? I swear that guy can get up on my nerves at times. I tried his phone again. Engaged. The hell?

I was standing at the alleyway next to our mansion. It was a very dark and narrow alley; too dark for anyone to notice me standing there. But I wore a cap and nose mask just in case. Fans aside, it would be dangerous for reporters to find out about our escape pad. They might make up false stories and implicate us in some scandal.

The chilly weather was getting to me. It was freezing out there. Where is Joonjae? I wondered. He said he would be back in five minutes. Well it was past ten minutes. Eleven to be exact.

'Where the fuck is that guy?' I asked aloud, annoyed. My phone vibrated. It was Joonjae. 'Where the hell are you?' I snapped at him.

'Just getting some drinks,' he said from the other end of the receiver. 'I'll be there in a while.'

He hung up the phone before I could say anything more. Ugh, the guy can be so dense at times. Jan was probably at the hideout already. I should head there instead.

I walked up the alleyway, when I saw a thin figure in front of me. Upon closer look, I realized it was a girl. Shit! Was it a fan? Did someone figure out our lie? I quickly hid behind a wall. What if she was a sasaeng?

She didn't notice me but was talking on the phone. I tried to listen but I couldn't understand the language. It wasn't Korean and even with my limited vocabulary, I knew it wasn't English. Also, it was too dark for me to see and figure out her ethnicity. But what was she saying?

The girl hung up her phone. Her back was still turned to me. She leaned onto a wall and was...shaking.

Suddenly someone tapped me on the shoulder. I jumped and saw Joonjae standing behind me.

'What are you-,' he started. I motioned him to be quiet and pointed at the girl.

'There's someone here,' I whispered. 'What if it's a fan?'

Joonjae nodded. We both knew it would be scandalous if anyone found out that we lied about the haunted house.

A sudden shriek tore through the night. Even the girl was startled and ran towards the house. 'What the hell?' I asked.

'That sounded like...' Joonjae said.

'Jan,' both of us said. We sprinted towards the house. Jan was running out of there, screaming like a maniac.
