Starred Up

Deen, a seven year old boy, arrives in Korea with his mother Mia. With a strong determination to raise her son properly, Mia ensures Deen lacks no love in his life. In her spare time, Mia is a huge fangirl of the Korean boy group, TNT. But in an unexpected twist of fate, the mother-son duo end up being the neighbors of D3, another legendary boy group, which happens to be TNT's biggest rival. D3 consists of the short tempered Taewon, gentle Joon Jae and the goofy Jan. On top of that, Mia is hired as the personal designer for TNT, which consists of the charismatic leader Soo-Yon and the playboy maknae Cheng. Despite the rocky start, Mia and her son grow closer to all the members of both the groups. With time, the members realize they have fallen in love with the same woman, disrupting each group's dynamics. Furthermore, the origins of the hostility between the two groups resurface, making everyone involved question the decision they made a decade ago. As secrets unfold, the members vie for Mia's affections, Deen observes that she has eyes only for one of them. But which one of them will she choose? Note: Please note that the cover is not my original one. This is simply a random fanart I got on the internet. I'll upload an original cover as soon as its ready! Thank you for understanding.

Jan-Pillars of D3

Anneyeong Jan sshi,' Jae-hee noona, our stylist greeted. Jae-hee noona had been with us for over six years. She was a thin woman in her forties with frilly short hair. Most makeup artists quit on us due to Taewon hyung's tantrums. But Jae-hee noona knew exactly what all three of us liked. Even Taewon hyung praised her. Only her work can pacify him.

'Anneyeong noona,' I said cheerfully, stepping aside to let her and the crew in. They all got to work immediately. Jae-hee noona first worked on our hair. She pulled back my long hair into a neat bun, back brushed Joonjae's hair and simply combed Taewon hyung's hair to make his golden bangs more visible.

It is not like we needed makeup. All three of us were known for what Koreans call "natural beauty." Which basically means that we never had any plastic surgeries. That was a blatant lie though. Taewon hyung and I had to undergo nose jobs during our trainee days and Joonjae went under the knife for a double eyelid surgery. Our supposed pre-debut photos were actually our post-surgery photos. The agency we were in only wanted to promote their so-called naturally beautiful idols. Even in our early thirties, we looked as young as the new generation idols.

But even with our minor surgeries, it was no doubt that the fans were attracted by our beauty. Taewon hyung with his fierce persona always made the fans frenzy. His visuals were considered the most unusual even among Koreans. Tall and fair skinned,

Taewon hyung's sharp looks drove women crazy. But his most unique features were his eyes. They were dark blue, a rarity among the idols. Joonjae on the other hand was elegant and graceful. His black eyes gave the impression of gazing into people's souls (he probably does that). Strong and silent, Joonjae had a natural charm which was irresistible to fans, which is why he received numerous drama offers. He was a natural actor and had excellent chemistry with all his leading ladies. Add his excellent English speaking ability and girls go gaga over him.

As for me, I am shorter than the two of them, but my stage charisma and natural PR abilities were my strengths. I had scruffy brown hair which reached till my shoulders. My boyish charm mixed with my insane dancing abilities were enough to pull in thousands of people. All three of us were the pillars of our band D3. No one overshadowed the other. Each of us had our own talent to attract an audience. Three beautiful idols with soulful voices, unique music and difficult choreography. The perfect idols.

After we were groomed up, we walked to the backstage, waiting for the host to introduce us.

'Who's the host?' I asked Joonjae. He peered through the curtain and groaned.

'Jung Tae-mong sunbae,' Joonjae replied.

Oh dear lord have mercy, I prayed. Jung Tae-mong sunbae is one of the most annoying hosts in Korean entertainment. He was known for cracking inappropriate jokes. Most people took it as entertainment. To us it was harassment. But the interview questions did not have anything such so I assumed everything would be fine.

'And now, the performance you've all been waiting for,' Tae-mong sunbae's voice boomed through the speakers. 'The nation's beloved idols, newly released from the military. Please welcome, D3!'

The crowd roared and gave a standing ovation as we walked up to the stage. Taewon hyung gave flying kisses to the audience while Joonjae smiled widely, waving at them. I threw took out a clean handkerchief from my pocket kissed it and threw it at them. A few of the fans grabbed the handkerchief and started to fight over it. I winked at them.

We took our positions on stage. The music started and we begin to sing our latest song.
