18 Chapter 18: Flying Eye

Still looking at the jar in front of her, Pansy asked, "Are you sure I can't kill him or at least practice the Cruciatus Curse on him?"

"No, he will have the same experience as us for a while. But most importantly, if you don't want to offer yourself as a test subject, then I need him alive for now. It will not be easy to get another grown symbiote for a while. He will suffer. Even more than us," Harry calmly answered.

"Test Subject? What are you planning? Are you planning to experiment on symbiotes? I can bear some if you want," Pansy offered.

"Like I said, that is too risky. And I need a symbiote to study his exact biology before I can modify ours to solve that problem permanently," Harry explained.

"Okay, it makes me feel better that you are planning to do research first. But you are planning to modify us? And how?" Pansy asked, slightly concerned.

"Yes, I do. The Goa'uld have so much more potential. I plan to give us their full potential. But for that, we will need to visit a specific planet and get a device. Let's hope it is still there; if not, it will be a bit more troublesome. That device is very advanced, and we currently do not have the technology to create it ourselves," Harry said while adding it to his mind, and it will solve my loyalty problem.

"Fine, I understand. So what are you planning to do with the stuff you got from Sethesh?" She asked.

"This is for you." Handing over the Kara Kesh and making her smile, she said, "I will use the staff weapons to give our ship a few offensive capabilities."

"Will it be of much use? It may be able to harm some Death Gliders or other Tel'tak, but any ship with a shield will be unaffected." Pansy doubted their usefulness on their ship.

"Of course, I will not install them as they are. The Staff Canons on the Goa'uld Ships are also only scaled-up versions of these Staff Weapons. I will construct an improved version of them; with these nine staff weapons, it should be enough to fight most ships without a shield. And even allow us to damage a shield," he answered as if he were talking to a kid.

"Sure, if you say so. Only 2 minutes until Terra Atlantis. So what are our next plans?" she asked as she refocused on flying the ship, while Harry was already working on the improved staff cannons for this ship.

"Hmm, how do I see it? There are two possibilities for us. We can do what I have previously promised you and take over the domain of some independent underlord, his slaves, and Jaffa. Or, what I actually prefer. We get the device I need to study our symbiotes and modify them, creating a completely new race based on the Goa'uld." Harry pointed it out. He knew which option he liked better.

"Tch, and once we have that device and finish the work on it, we will get our own slaves working for us." She clarified. Pansy hated to have to do most of this menial work herself. She was a queen and a goddess. And even as a wizard, before she had to escape her family, she had house-elves working for her. Having Kreacher around was such an advantage, even if he was old, but having actual humans that were working under her commands was a wonderful thought.

"Yes, that would be the next step." Harry confirmed.

"Then let's do it. I can wait until you are done with this project." She nodded, agreeing with his plan. "Where is this device?"Oh, and we are there."

"It's time for our first gate journey. I can finish this later." Harry said as he put the dismantled staff weapons aside. They had already received the Stargate and Clavis from where it was buried under the ice and modified it to have its own unique 9-Symbol Stargate Address before they went to kill Sethesh.

The longer they waited with the gate, the more likely it was that it could be discovered by the SGC. For example, if there is a power surge, then the wormhole would jump to the next stargate. Which would be this one, so there was a chance that they could arrive through that Stargate if they were under weapon fire.

But with the Stargate modified into a different mode with a unique address, it was no longer acting as a secondary gate but as another main gate. The routine program responsible for handling power surges would jump to the next working gate address nearby, which always will be a seven-symbol address, not a nine-symbol one, because the program believes that the power requirement for that wormhole is far higher. Turning it into a nine-symbol gate made it impossible for the gate to act as an emergency connection.

Leaving the ship cloaked above the outpost, the two of them returned through the rings. They began to prepare a few things they would need to get the device. Each of them packed Zat'nik'tel as a secondary weapon for their Kara Kesh and also prepared some storage trunks for the device and whatever else they would find there.

Harry also worked on another small thing. He actually got that idea from the SGC. And coincidentally, he didn't need to create a completely new device for that idea. Before a journey through the Stargate, the SGC was using a Mobile Analytic Laboratory Probe, or MALP, to assess the situation and survivability on the other side of the Gate.

The Ancients had actually designed a similar device before. It had no name, so he called it the Flying Eye. One of the earlier research projects into possible Stardrives was a gravity engine. Unfortunately, the energy requirement for such a drive on the scale of a ship was astronomical. But it was very efficient on a small scale, like the size of a softball.

These flying eyes are very maneuverable, and the engine could be quite compact, having enough space for many different sensors and even video and audio recording. And the best thing about it was that the advanced material requirements were nonexistent. He could build it with only materials found on Earth.

So before they left for their first journey through the gate, he created a few of them with a fitting control tablet to receive the necessary data and control the flying eye.

"Do you have everything you need?" Harry asked Pansy as she came to him into the small room they created in the ice for the Stargate. Their rudimentary gateroom, although they were still missing the necessary security. All they had was the safety of knowing that no one knew their gate address.

"Yes, I am ready." She nodded as she stood beside him. "You can dial the gate. What are you doing?" She asked as she saw that Harry was closing his eyes instead.

"I always wanted to try this. Wait a moment." Harry said as he extended his consciousness towards the Stargate in front of them.

Suddenly, the first Chevron began to light up.
