11 Chapter 11: Tel'tak

"It's still standing!" Pansy said as she saw the entrance to their old temple among the sand dunes. Although it was mostly buried by the sand and ravaged by the forces of time, the entrance was still clearly visible. Once they arrived at the Egyptian Ministry of Magic via their international portkey from Britain and finished the necessary paperwork, they directly referred to the location of the temple they had in their memories received from their symbiote.

"Let's hope the Escape Tel'tak we hid here is still working. I don't really want to spend too much time here fixing it," Harry said as he headed towards the entrance of the temple, Pansy following him by his side. They entered a dark and dusty chamber that was almost completely empty. Only an altar was there. This was the place where they were imprisoned in stasis jars by Ra for thousands of years.

Harry pulled the golden amulet key out and placed it on its intended pedestal. The altar began to move and open up, revealing a reddish-glowing compartment. On one of the shelves is a gold-colored metal ribbon with a red gem in the palm.

"I will take the Kara Kesh, beloved. They are outdated anyway, and I will soon create something better for us," Harry said as he stepped forward and put the hand device on.

"That was always the plan, my king," Pansy said with a small smile gracing her lips. Whether that was the truth, Harry wasn't sure. The Goa'uld were a society full of power-hungry beings with a god complex; backstabbing and betrayal for more power were common occurrences among them. Slytherins, from what he had heard, were quite similar. Although Osiris and Isis were allies for thousands of years, it is quite possible that Pansy and Isis's memories are now different. He wasn't sure if he could trust Pansy before, much less now that she was so influenced by a Goa'uld used to being a god. It was absolutely possible that she was just waiting for the right moment to backstab him and take power for herself. But the knowledge of the Ancients and the Goa'uld gave him a way to take care of this problem once and for all. Unfortunately, it would take time and research to accomplish this, and he needed to acquire a few things first. For now, all he could do was watch his back.

He stretched his hand out and pointed the Kara Kesh at the altar. The Kara Kesh is one of the most important tools of the Goa'uld to pose as a god; it's not only their personal weapon and a shield generator but also a remote control for most of their technology. Using that remote control, he awoke their Escape Tel'tak from below the sand dunes and made it rise from its slumber into the air. "Let's go," he said, leading them towards the Ring Transporter at the entrance of the temple.

Five rings rose up from the floor below them, turning them into energy before they rematerialized on the ring platform of their Escape Tel'tak; the rings once again disappeared into the floor of the ship. They arrived in the storage room of the ship, which had an Egyptian design like the majority of Goa'uld technology.

"It seems the ship is in quite good condition," Pansy pointed out as she looked around the room. "Let's check the status of the ship's systems." Both of them entered the cockpit, starting the control consoles and projecting the status on the HUD.

"Hyperdrive, life support, and cloaking devices seem to work fine. So does the sublight engine. No damage detected," Harry said as he checked the data on the screen. Pansy, meanwhile, looked at another part of the system. "Hull is also in good condition. The Naquadah Generator can still run for a few more centuries. Escape pods are fully functional."

"The ship is in better condition than expected. Fully functional for interstellar travel. Let's activate the cloak and head for London. I will do the necessary modification from home so we are finally able to get to our Chappa'ai and the outpost of our ancestors," Harry said as he started the sublight engines, flying the cloaked ship towards London.

"Can you take over the control? I will start modifying a few of the systems to improve their performance a bit. After all, the hyperdrive of this Tel'tak is very slow. I can at least double its performance by improving it. We will need it to get something important," Harry asked Pansy, who took over control of the small transport vessel.

"Sure, do your thing. Just don't blow us up mid-air," Pansy said as she took over, flying the ship towards London. First, Harry dismantled two of the four escape pods of the ship for the more advanced metals and alloys. Two were enough for them since they didn't plan to take anyone with them for now. He even removed the mechanism of the hatch for the escape pods, transmuting the rest into a part of the hull before he headed towards the maintenance access for the Hyperdrive in the storage room.

The Hyperdrive is centuries more advanced than any technology mankind currently possesses. But in comparison to anything the ancients had, it could only be described as primitive. Fortunately, he had magic and could efficiently modify the current parts to upgrade it into a better version. Since the sublight engine and the Hyperdrive are two separate entities, he can start modifying them while they are flying in the direction of London. Though he had less than 5 minutes before they would arrive there, This is a spaceship, not a plane, after all.

Harry carefully disconnected the Hyperdrive engine from the ship's power grid and began to dismantle it. Thanks to the genetic memories of the symbiote, he knew the exact schematics and size of that engine. Having already had an improved design in mind, he began to transmute the engine parts into the necessary improved versions, adding the salvaged materials from the escape pods to them.

Pansy landed the Tel'tak cloaked in the backyard of Grimmauld Place number 12, where it barely fit. It's good that the Black Family wasn't cheap on the size of their property, even if it was in the middle of London. Meanwhile, Harry didn't let himself get distracted by that and kept working on the hyperdrive. A Goa'uld Hyperdrive for a Ha'tak can reach 32,000 times the speed of light, allowing it to travel quite a distance.

The improved version Harry was installing in it would be able to reach, according to his calculations, over 100,000 times the speed of light once he also modified the sublight engine with a better design. It was too bad that he didn't have enough materials to modify the ship with some defensive capabilities, like a shield system, and some weaponry for offense. For now, the invisibility cloak installed on the ship would have to be enough for their survival in case they encountered an enemy.

But he already had precisely calculated the amounts of Naquadah he possessed in order to modify the ship for his needs. And once the Hyperdrive was modified, he needed the rest to install the energy drill for Antarctica.
