7 Monster Hunters

It's hard.

Damned hard to find that herb since we don't even know where to look for it and what the damned thing looks like. Sayaka's been upset about wasting time looking for some herbs but we really need to complete this mission.

I don't want to think about having to kill an "Elder Dragon" just to unlock some function of Elysium or the Dungeon. That's idiotic. And dangerous. Something I'm not ready to sign up for.

It's a good thing that we have plenty of time to waste since we'll be returned to the exact moment we left. Meaning we won't be missing the recommendation test that I need to take and Sayaka will have more time to practice for her test since her entrance exam will only take place a week after mine. With her Quirk, I doubt anyone could defeat her when it comes to physical tests.

The only problem she'll have is written exams. I'm not saying Sayaka is an idiot when it comes to that but… Sayaka is an idiot. She rarely remembers anything a teacher would ever tell her and most of the time in classes we've had together she'll spend it mumbling about random stuff or just staring into empty space… Or well at me. I've tried fixing that before but it was more trouble than it's worth so I just try to do my best and help her.

I've already figured out how I'll help her with the exams in U.A. but I'll keep that a secret to her for now.

We also have a lot of stuff to explore in this "dungeon" so we have that going on. With the stuff we've explored we managed to ignore our frustrations of not being able to find the right herb we're looking for.

Sayaka and I managed to find herbs but all of it is not the mountain herbs we've been looking for. We found a plant that when we touched said it's called a Herb, Sayaka even managed to pick up a herb called Sleep Herb that made me panic when I learned what it could do.

[Herb

Type: Plant

-A plant that restores a slight amount of Health.]

[Sleep Herb

Type: Plant

-Plant with sleep-inducing qualities.]

Honestly, with how clumsy Sayaka usually is, I had assumed it's only due to her luck that she didn't fall asleep when she was touching the unknown plant that coincidentally has the effect of inducing sleep.

"Seriously Sayaka, you should be more careful. This place isn't safe for both of us with or without Quirks."

"Sorry desu~." (Sayaka)

Judging from the way her eyes are formed into how they usually are when she's happy I don't think she's really sorry about almost getting herself knocked out cold. I sighed, well these things come with socializing. Gods, I hate socializing.

Right now we're in front of the lake we saw earlier. The clear blue water, the fishes swimming around and the silent elephant-like monsters behind us make me feel as if I'm in a fantasy world. Seriously, with how the world is right now I doubt there's any lake out there that's as clear as the one in front of us.

This place is marked as Area 1 on the map.

"This is good desu~." (Sayaka)

I look at Sayaka to figure out what she meant by that and seeing as how she's looking at the pure white mountain far off in the distance with a gleeful expression on her face I understood quickly what she wants to say.

"Yeah, we should hang out like this more. It's always fun when I'm with you even if we're not actually doing anything."

"You mean that Hi-chan?" (Sayaka)

"Of course why would I lie to you about something like this?"

"Hmm. That's good desu~." She says as I look at her twinkling eyes however that didn't last long because of the next words she says, "Though I doubt that will come true desu~. We need to take this Hero stuff seriously and train. Hi-chan we need to make our names known. Revered by the masses and feared by our enemies desu~. That's the only way they won't come to our home and take what we own."

I sighed.

"That's true but still, it's not like we'll miss a lot of things when we're inside these Dungeons since we will return the exact same moment we left. So we can spend as much time as we want in this place.

Sure this place may be dangerous but as long as we don't let our guard down I think we would be able to escape from monsters we can't yet kill."

I'm talking about killing when I haven't even killed anything else but insects yet.

Sayaka leaned her head on my shoulder. It's a good thing I unequipped my armor earlier to be able to sit properly on the ground or else she'll be leaning on cold hard metal right now.

The two of us stayed in our little world for quite a while before we are so rudely interrupted by screeching noises. Sayaka and I quickly stood up and readied ourselves.

She held her greatsword with both hands on the hilt and placed it right in front of her. While I equipped my armor.

[Bone Beta Armor Set

Type: Armor

Fire Resistance: weak

Thunder Resistance: weak

Dragon Resistance: weak

-[Health Boost] [Attack Boost] [Slugger] [Horn Maestro] [Entomologist]

-Traditional armor crafted from monster bones. Believe it or not, it offers pretty good insulation]

When I saw this armor set I thought it looked pretty cool so I chose this as my first armor. It has a lot of skills but most of it I don't really understand, I need time to test all of it so I guess I'm really going to spend a lot of time inside these Dungeons. I also didn't forget to summon my bow and quiver containing my arrows. I made use of my quirk to help me nock the arrow in place better.

We immediately found our would-be attackers.

"Dinosaurs? Really?"

In front of us are four velociraptor look-alikes. They have crystal blue scales with sky blue stripes unlike what velociraptors actually look like so I guess they're not really velociraptors?

[Giaprey

Species: Bird Wyvern

- [Iceblight] [Snowman]

-A species of small bird-like carnivores known to inhabit the Snowy Mountains. Their white skin is beautiful, but their temperament is not. They are known to spit ice at hunters, and attack in deadly packs.

-Threat Level: ★★]

Huh, that helps.

The "Giapreys" no longer waited for any sort of welcome greeting and quickly attacked. Three of the monsters leaped to us. I would have done something if I'm on my own but obviously, I am not. Sayaka used her greatsword as a bat and slammed it to the sides of the monsters in midair. One quickly died, chopped in half while the others flew away because of the impact.

The last one tried to spit its ice. Good thing I got info about that kind of attack from the holographic screen so I managed to shoot an arrow to interrupt it. The arrow I shot lodge on the monster's throat effectively stopping it from spitting ice. Two more arrows followed the previous one this time with two different targets, I shot these ones with the help of my Quirk so they're far accurate than the previous one.

The two arrows cleanly hit the eyes of the monster finally killing it. It didn't die quickly though since it was still able to struggle for a bit before it died. The image of something struggling in death somehow made me lose my motivation in killing these things.

That is until I saw Sayaka actively chase after the last two Giapreys.

"Fuck it," I said before nocking another arrow at my bow and shooting the Giaprey that's still lying down on the ground. Following the first arrow that I shot are three more arrows controlled by my Quirk. Except for the first one I shot the other three all accurately hit my target immediately killing it.

Sayaka killed the last Giaprey the same way she did her first one, by using her greatsword and treating it as if it's a bat.

"That went better than I expected it would," I said while Sayaka nodded in response and replied, "We're strong desu~."

"Maybe. Probably," I say as I walk up to one of the corpses. It's the first one that Sayaka killed, the one she chopped in half. "We still shouldn't let our guard down you know? These… Giapreys are probably at the bottom of the food chain in this place."

As I talk I touch the corpse and then holographic screens appeared in front of me.

[Received: Giaprey Scale x2]

[Giaprey Scale

Rarity: 3

-The color of this scale allows you to approach in the snow unseen.]

The corpse of the monster then quickly turned to balls of light and faded after I touched it.

"Huh, guess we don't need to worry about so much blood, " I say to Sayaka when I noticed that not only the corpse but also the blood of the monster that got on her disappeared along with the corpse.

That's good because Sayaka won't have any trouble with washing our clothes then.

"Let me try the next desu~." (Sayaka)

Sayaka raises her hand like a student making her chest jiggle due to her action. Damn it, I've been trying my best to ignore that… Seeing her killing those monsters with her greatsword and swinging it as if it's nothing made me imagine what she'd do if she learned what I was thinking of during the fight.

I seriously need to banish all these evil thoughts.

"Go nuts."

"Thank you desu~." (Sayaka)

She then quickly touched all of the corpses making them transform into balls of light, effectively making the blood on the ground and Sayaka's clothes disappear.

I also received notifications of what items we received. Speaking of the items, it seems that all the items we get from killing the monsters will be automatically sent to the Storage. Which is good since I don't want to carry around hides and scales from the monsters we killed.

"They're all the same items desu~." (Sayaka)

Looking at the dejected Sayaka I smile, "Yeah that happens a lot in games so I'm guessing it could also happen here. It doesn't matter what we're here for is those damned herbs."

"Right desu~. Let's go Hi-chan, let's continue to search in this area." Saying that she looks around the bushes without a single hint of her earlier dejection and not a bit of wariness.

"And she says she's sorry for the incident with the Sleep Herb… Damn it Sayaka what am I gonna do to you?"

I mumble to myself as I scan the area while retrieving the arrows I shot earlier. I've got a limited amount of these things so it's best I save up. Don't know how long we'll be here.

"Huh, those... Popos? Yeah, those Popos are gone. Probably got scared from the Giapreys that attacked."

I should really be more aware of our surroundings if something had been watching our fight and decided to attack we wouldn't even have noticed how we died. We didn't even notice how the Popos disappeared and where they went since we've been too focused on the fight.

Then as if on signal more screeching sounds came from nowhere. Another pack of Giapreys then showed up and evidently, their numbers have increased from four to ten with a larger one leading them.

[Giadrome

Species: Bird Wyvern

- [Iceblight] [Snowman]

-Alpha monsters that lead Giaprey packs. They sport splendid crests and are much bigger than Giaprey they lead. They spit ice with deadly accuracy, and woe betides the Hunters who get caught in it.

-Threat Level:★★★]

"Well shit. Sayaka!"

I shout to the already charging girl.

"Damned woman! Let's see how I'll spank your butt later!"

===== Nemuri P.O.V.

"So your brother will be taking the recommendation exam for U.A.?" (?)

I only nodded my head in agreement knowing full well where this conversation is going.

"The same brother that you… Slept with?" (?)

I nodded. The person in front of me, Yu Takeyama or more commonly as Mt. Lady by the masses, is my only female friend and roommate. Yu is a voluptuous young woman who has purple eyes with white pupils, with elegantly long eyelashes. She has long, voluminous, creamy blonde hair reaching her waist, with two shorter strands curled to frame her face which is parted slightly to her left.

The people believe that she and I don't get along but it's quite the opposite really. She and I could be considered best friends even if there's a considerable age gap between us. Damn it. I hate remembering stuff about my age.

The fights we have in public are all charade or facade whatever else the word for fake is.

It was Yu's idea. She told me it would help in publicity and attract more attention towards us. It's not like I hate the idea of getting more attention and Yu definitely loves it so I agreed with her. Only our close friends know the truth about our "play" so we make sure we're not seen in public often.

However, Yu is the only one that knows who I really am. Nemuri Kayama, the only Princess of Genosha and the sister that forced her brother to sleep with her.

"You do know that this is a bad idea right Nemuri?" (Yu)

"I know but it's my baby brother! It's been years since I last saw him. The moment I saw him come down from the plane I had to control myself from running to his embrace." (Nemuri)

She looks at me with a deadpanned expression on her face and said, "That isn't enough evidence that this is a bad idea? And what? He's living just below our apartment!? Have you gone mad!" Yu shouts at me making me wince from the cold hard facts she's throwing but I won't back down.

"No, I haven't gone mad. I miss my brother! Besides, you're here. I trust you'll help me control myself." (Nemuri)

"I can't always be with you!" (Yu)

I hummed in agreement, "I know that. I won't be spending too much time in the apartment once school starts again anyway. So I won't have much time to spend in the apartment. Only you can help me with this Yu."

Yu only answered after a few minutes of thinking. "Alright but you better help me with Shinji, alright?" I wince at that but still, I nodded, anything to be able to spend time with Hiro-chan without me losing control. Besides though Shinji is a suitor of mine and a friend he isn't really my type. Even if he's younger than I am by a year or two. I'd actually say good riddance if they got together.

"Of course, I've been helping you haven't I? It's just that your thing with getting all the attention is getting in the way." (Nemuri)

Yu pouted her lips making me smile in the process. It seems she's well aware that vanity-seeking part of her personality is getting in the way of her being with the man she likes.

"Want to see the pictures I took with him and Sayaka-chan yesterday?" (Nemuri)

Yu shrugged, I took that as a "yes" and quickly took out my phone and sat beside her. It started with a group photo of the three of us with me hugging Hiro-chan.

"Its definitely a bad idea for him to live near you," Yu says. I don't understand what she means by that. "I mean what's up with him being this… Perfect?"

Oh.

"Like the Greek gods right?" (Nemuri)

"Yeah, like a god… I kind of understand now why you did what you did." (Yu)

"That's good. I'd really like it if my best friend understands me," I say to her as we continue to scroll through the pictures from yesterday.

Hmm, it's time for breakfast maybe I should check in on Hiro-chan and Sayaka-chan?

===== Hirokazu P.O.V.

I shot another arrow hoping that it would hit a Giaprey or maybe the pack leader. It hit a Giaprey in its eyes, instantly killing the monster.

I gotta say once we've gotten used to the jumping, scratching, and spitting of ice this battle became easy. Their pattern of attacks is just so monotonous that even someone like me lacking in combat experience is able to defeat them.

Especially with my Quirk backing me up. All the arrows I shot never missed and hit vital spots of the monsters.

Sayaka… Well, she isn't doing that bad.

I expected her to just rampage without thinking with that sword of hers but Sayaka's clearly thinking. I think? We're on the same page at least. Kill the mob monsters before we go deal with the boss. I would've killed it already if it isn't so good in dodging my arrows.

Seriously, I need to train more using my Quirk. I could also just blast all of these monsters but that'll drain me too fast and we've still got to search for those damned mountain herbs.

I guess I need to stop playing around with this bow. I sighed, here I was enjoying the feeling of being Hawkeye from the comics Grandfather loved. Anyway, I'll play around with that next time.

Thinking of that I unequipped the bow and sent it back to the Storage while I kept the quiver and the arrows on my back. Then I activated my Quirk making half of the arrows in the quiver float around me. Guess half of 80 is the limit I could control for now.

All of this happened in but a few moments and once I'm ready to attack I shouted at Sayaka, "Move out of the way Saya! I'm going to end this!" She quickly acknowledged my warning and moved away from the pack. Though it seems they're all unwilling to let her go.

"Like I'm going to let any of you hurt MY best friend," I say coldly before letting loose all of the arrows.

Shrieks of pain came out from the monsters but I couldn't care less. No time to care for anything other than dodging the attack of the Giadrome. This mission is annoying, I thought we're only supposed to search for herbs? Why the hell is there a lot of monsters around?

I move to my left in order to dodge the spit the bastard tried to attack me with. I'm actually pretty curious as to what would happen if I let that hit me but sating my curiosity at the cost of my life isn't worth it.

The volume of the shrieking monsters started to lower as I kill more of them with my arrows. The pack leader is enraged about me almost killing its whole pack I assume since it is now trying harder to kill me. Its movements are starting to move faster and harder.

Eh not like I care, I've already taken care of the whole pack as Sayaka charges straight at the Giadrome that's too busy trying to kill me to even notice her.

"Eeeeiiiii!" Sayaka shouted as she swung her greatsword, slicing the monster apart and making it fly.

I heaved a sigh of relief. Damn. This. Mission. I hate this mission.

"Hi-chan!!! That was so cool!" Sayaka jumps to me, her arms wide open. I quickly unequipped my armor and got ready to receive her embrace. The moment she embraced me she snuggled her head on my chest while mumbling some stuff I'm doing my best to ignore.

I might hate this mission but at least the company is great and the scenery is good.

Still, I hate those damned herbs.

===== ??? P.O.V.

"It's true. All Might will be teaching in U.A. this year." (?)

Said a slim man with deathly pale skin, tinged yellow and wrinkled a great deal around his eyes. His lips are chapped and uneven, a small mole on the right underneath, with visible scars on his right eye and under his lip. He has messy grayish-blue hair of varying lengths, the longest clumps reaching to about his shoulders, left hanging over his face in uneven waves.

I laugh at that, "Gahaha. The fool is already searching for his successor it seems."

The one that replied to the young man has a face that seems to be made entirely of scar tissue, extending from above his upper lip and covering his entire head and the back of his neck. As such, he has no visible nose, ears, hair or eyes, though the outlines of eye sockets can be seen.

"What are we gonna do? I need to show the world that their 'Symbol of Peace' is what's wrong with this society." (?)

"Soon. Not yet, but soon. We just need to wait for a bit more. What we need to do is prepare the tramp card we have against him so that even if he can still fight back with those injuries he has, we can fight back on equal grounds." (?)

"Alright." (?)

"Soon. Gahaha." (?)

====================================

A/N:

I remember playing MHFU and searching for those damned mountain herbs for what felt like hours and not to mention the fact that I would even sometimes encounter too strong monsters. I always hated that.

So here it is the first chapter of the week.

I tried my best imagining the fighting scene and hoped that Hirokazu and Sayaka won't come out too OP during the battle but then I thought, "Those are freaking giapreys. No matter who hunts those they'll come out as OP" so I let it be. Besides this now shows how much control Hirokazu has with his Telekinesis quirk while his Energy Blasts drain him faster since it uses his own energy to fire those... Well, blasts.

Hopefully, with training, Hirokazu will surpass these limits of his. Though that will be for next time.
