70 Chapter 67: The Phantom Menace Episode II

As our group walked through Mos Espa I saw a collection of species from all across the galaxy no matter where I looked.

I also saw several individuals eyeing Padme with lust-filled gazes.

So when I did I smiled that those individuals and projected some murderous intent at them through the Force.

Which made them leave dust clouds as they ran away in terror.

Qui-Gon Jinn kept giving me this look every time I did that, but I ignored it. For I would rather be safe than sorry. Plus I can't let anything happen to Padme freaking Amidala.

One of the most iconic Star Wars characters, and the mother of two of my favorite characters, Luke and Leia.

Though given all the changes I've made there's no guarantee those twins will still be born. Plus if they were I wonder if they would eventually grow up to look like the actors, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil, who played them in the films?

Since everyone other character I've met shown in the films looks exactly like their actor counterpart from my old world.

Pondering this, and hoping Han Solo does end up being a look-alike of Harrison Ford, our group suddenly arrived at 'Watto's Junkshop'.

Where I suddenly started sensing an incredibly strong presence in the Force.

Seriously, it is like a Christmas Tree in Time Square.

Which is weird, because I barely sensed anything before.

I guess that's one of the reasons Anakin was never found in infancy and brought to the temple on Coruscant for training.

Among a myriad of others.

"Master Qui-Gon." I said.

"I know, I felt it too." Qui-Gon replied. "A shift in the Force."

"Well then what are we waiting for, let's go see what it's all about." I said. I then entered 'Watto's Junkshop', the others following behind me.

Once inside we came face-to-face with Watto himself.

Looking at the Toydarian junk dealer I can say one thing with absolute certainty.

He looks even uglier, and smells just as bad as I assumed he would, than in the films.

Spotting us he flew from around the counter and arrived in front of us. "Hey, welcome to 'Watto's Junkshop'. I am Watto, how can I help you, what do you need?" He spoke.

"We're just looking right now." I told him. Going to browse all the items in his shop. "But, from the looks of things you don't have anything we would be interested in. Pity. I guess we'll take our business and money elsewhere." I said.

"Hey, hey, no need to be so hasty buddy." Watto quickly spoke. "If you want better things I've got better things. Give me a moment." He spoke. "Boy, get out here!" Watto shouted.

"Coming sir." A familiar voice replied.

Then a moment later he came running from the back.

A young Anakin Skywalker.

[Insert Image of Anakin Skywalker Here]

The so-called 'Chosen One' who could possibly end up as both Jedi and Sith. A boy who has the potential to save the galaxy or destroy it. A boy who never got the help he needed to deal with all of is his issues.

Well now that I am around, he will get the help he needs, and so much more.

Since I have no intention of letting Darth Vader rise.

Even if I do think he was a badass villain. Especially with that cape of his.

Vader is the one exception I have for Edna's rule of 'No Capes'.

"Go in the back and bring out the good stuff for these customers." Watto ordered Anakin.

Who simply gave a curt nod in response and moved his ass to get done what Watto asked him.

Anakin returned a few moment later, carrying a box filled with parts that definitely looked better than the stuff Watto was already displaying.

When the young boy placed the box on the ground I started looking through it. Actually finding something I wanted to purchase.

A power capacitor, and a Alluvial dampener.

Using Technometry I could tell they were both practically brand new, with no obvious problems.

"Ah, I know that look. It seems you found what you're looking for, didn't you buddy?" Watto asked me.

"Yes, I did." I replied.

"See, I told you I had better things buddy." Watto said.

"You sure did." I replied. I then paid Watto for both parts.

While I did it looks like Anakin struck up a conversation with Qui-Gon and Padme.

Who ended up getting invited back to his home.

So I tagged along, making sure Jar Jar didn't actually get himself, or anyone else, horribly injured or killed.

I mean seriously, I didn't ever think I'd meet anyone so accident prone.

Yet Jar Jar Binks exists.

Though he makes up for it with his big heart.

Moving on, arriving at Anakin's home we met his mother, Shimi.

Where she told us she and her son were slaves, and eventually Qui-Gon started questioning her about Anakin's parentage, where she revealed she was space Mary and Anakin was space Jesus.

Then before I knew it, it was night.

Sitting outside I enjoyed the cool night breeze alongside Qui-Gon.

"Van, you sensed it didn't you, how powerful young Anakain is with the force?" Qui-Gon asked me.

"I do." I replied.

"Then you must also see he could be the 'Chosen One'." Qui-Gon spoke.

"Woah, lets not get ahead of ourselves here Qui-Gon." I spoke. "Just because he is powerful with the Force does not mean he is the legendary 'Chosen One'." I replied.

"No, but I sent a blood sample of Anakin's to Obi-Wan earlier and asked him to test the midi-chlorian level of the boy. The results showed it was the highest concentration of midi-chlorian's of any living being on record. Combine that with the circumstances of his birth and you must see, he is he 'Chosen One'." Qui-Gon explained.

"Okay, lets' say for a moment Anakin is the 'Chosen One'. That won't matter to the council. Even if you take him back to Coruscant and present him before them they will not allow his training, given his age." I explained. "That's not even taking into account his other issues. Like the fact he's spent his entire life as a slave, and he's extremely attached to his mother. The former will definitely have left lasting emotional and psychological scars on him. While the latter is also an issue. For I promise you Qui-Gon, trying to separate Anakin from his mother is the wrong move." I spoke.

"But it is the Jedi way." Qui-Gon replied.

"Please Qui-Gon, you know rules are made to be broken. Considering how many times you yourself have defied the council." I told him. "Besides, that is a horrible rule. Just because one has attachments does not mean they will fall to the dark-side. Look at Marcellus, and also our shared former master Dooku. Both know where they come from and who their family is, yet neither is turning Sith or anything equivalent to it." I said.

Qui-Gon Jinn going silent at my words for a few seconds. "Perhaps, you are right." He admitted.

"No offense Qui-Gon, but I am absolutely right on this." I told him. "If we take Anakin away from here, then we must take Shimi Skywalker as well."

"I will take what you've said into account." Qui-Gon told me.

"That is all I ask." I spoke.

Qui-Gon and I then headed inside to rest up for the night.

Though before I went to sleep I used a comm link to contact HK-47.

"HK, I have an assignment for you." I told him. I then gave him all the details.

"Statement: Understood master." HK-47 replied.

I then turned off the comm link and got comfortable to head off to sleep.

----------------------------------

(3rd Person: POV)

In his shop Watto was counting the credits he made for the day.

Which he finished in no time at all.

Never noticing the glowing pair of eyes getting closer and closer behind him.

Which belonged to HK-47.

Who had been instructed by Van to get rid of Watto and cover it up.

So that is exactly what the assassin droid is doing.

Proving himself the greatest assassin droid once again HK-47 reached out with his metal hands, wrapped them around Watto's neck, and snapped it before the Toydarian even knew what hit him.

When Watto's lifeless body fell flat on the ground HK-47 continued with the rest of the mission.

On that night 'Watto's Junkshop' became no more.

As some pieces of equipment Watto got his hands on caused a fire and burned his place to the ground, with him inside.

Tragic.

So moving on, this led Anakin and Shimi Skywalker to no longer having an owner and master.

It was like they had a guardian angel watching over them.

But in reality it was a millennium old assassin droid and his reincarnated master.
