35 Chapter 34: Trials of Knighthood Episode II

Returning to the Jedi Trial Chamber, after a stop in the Hall of Healing fo get my wounds from my lightsaber duel treated, I came to stand in front of the masters conducting my trials of Knighthood once more.

"It is time for your next trial to begin, Padawan Sunrider." Mace Windu spoke. "Are you ready?"

"Yes." I replied.

"Then let the test commence." Windu spoke. "Unlike before you may employ all your skills and abilties. For the objective of this next test is simple. Defeat or incapacitate the opponent you are about to face." He explained to me.

I nodded.

Knowing full well things are not going to be as simple as master Windu just made the test out to be.

For with the Jedi they never are.

"May the Force be with you." The masters all told me.

They then left the trial chamber.

After they did so one of the training droids appeared and their appearance began to change.

Turning into a simulacrum of the enemy I am going to be facing in this trial.

Before I knew the training droid had fully transformed into my opponent, and I found myself standing face to face with none other than Exar Kun.

A once great prospective Jedi whose thirst for knowledge and power led him down the path of the Sith. Becoming one of the greatest threats the galaxy has ever seen.

That's not even taking into account my ancestor Nomi's own past with Kun, and his former apprentice Ulic Qel-Droma.

Seeing him I wonder if the high council is trying to tell me something.

Or if they are not maybe the universe itself is.

Either way I know what I have to do.

Take down Exar Kun.

Which will be great practice for when I finally face down his spirit on Yavin 4.

Unclipping my lightsaber from my belt I activated it.

Seeing me do this Kun only put an arrogant smirk on his face. "Oh little Sunrider, do you truly think you have what it takes to best me?"

"Let's find out." I said.

"How I will enjoy turning that confidence into terror." Exar Kun spoke.

Then before he could do anything else I outstretched my free hand in his direction and hit him with a Force Push.

Sending his ass flying back and into the room wall.

Once I did so I charged toward him.

Ignoring the dispparoval in my actions I sensed from some of the council members observing me.

Because unlike other Jedi I won't wait for an enemy to make the first move before taking them down.

Especially not a Sith.

So long as I come out of the battle alive I don't care what methods I have to use to achieve victory.

Even if it's sneak attacks.

Reaching Kun I prepared to cut him down with my lightsaber.

Only for the simulated bastard to unleash a Force Wave which pushed me back and kept me from reaching him.

Jumping to his feet Kun brought up his double-bladed lightsaber and activated it.

A look of fury and also...eagerness on his face.

"Striking me before I could draw my weapon. You are no ordinary pathetic Jedi boy. Good. That means breaking you will be even more enjoyable." Kin said.

He then became a blur and closed the distance between us before I could even blink.

As Kun unleashed furious blows at me I did all I could to block them.

Ignoring the screaming of my muscles as I did.

For Kun has more muscle mass than me, thus he is capable of putting more power into his strikes.

Seeing I wasn't going to win in a contest of strength I jumped back.

I then flipped over Kun and landed behind him.

Spinning, I launched an overhead slash at his back.

Only for Kun to put his lightsaber behind him and block my strike.

He then threw an elbow into my gut, sending me skidding back.

Quickly turning around after he did Exar Kun charged toward me once more.

He then started slashing at me with both ends of his lightsaber, putting me on the defensive.

If that wasn't bad enough he started throwing punches, kicks, knees, and elbow shots whenever he could.

Making me realize just how dangerous a true master of Form VI: Niman can be.

Kun is taking the improvization aspect of the lightsaber style and using it to its fullest.

Before I knew it my robes were singed in various places and I felt pain on my body where Kun had managed to land some of his body blows.

Though I wasn't making things easy for Kun.

I managed to land a few hits on him myself.

"It seems you're better than I first thought boy, but in the end it changes nothing. I will be victorious." Exar Kun boasted. Giving me a confident smirk after he did.

Charging forward yet again Kun came at me with an overhead slash.

Jumping back I dodged it, and then jabbed the tip of my saber toward Kim's chest.

Quickly reversing the grip on his dual saber he used the other end to block my attack.

He then sent a kick with his right leg toward my own.

Stepping to the side I evaded it, and then sent Kun flying with another Force Push.

But unlike when our battle firdt began this time he landed on his feet.

His smirk getting bigger Kun picked up several pieces of rubble in the room, that had been created by our battle so far, and hurled them in my direction.

Calling on the Force myself I stopped the objects Jun threw at me, directing them into the walls.

After doing so I called upon Battlewill and charged forward.

Reaching Kun I moved to slash at his left side, only for him to use one end of his lightsaber to block it.

He then sent an elbow strike toward my face.

Sensing it coming I leaned back and dodged it by a hairs breath.

I then kicked Exar Kun square in his chest with my right foot.

Sending the bastard skidding back, and causing him to drop to his knees.

The first time he has done so since our battle began.

Pressing my advantage I Force Jumped toward Kun, and got ready to attack him with an overhead slash.

But before I could reach him he outstretched his free hand in my direction and before I could blink bolts of electrical energy were flying towards me.

As they hit me I felt pain like I had never felt before.

"Aghhh!!!!!!!!!"

Screaming at the top of my lungs I dropped my lightsaber and hit the ground.

Exar Kun continuing to hit me with Force Lightning the entire time.

Soon my body started spasming.

"Yes. More boy. Keep feeding me your pain, your fear." Exar Kun spoke.

Rising to his feet.

Me barely being able to make it out due to the immense pain I am in.

Yet I did.

I also saw Exar Kun slowly walking towards me.

'Is this it? Is it over?' I thought to myself.

...

...

...

'No. It's not over. It's not!!'

"Aghh!!!"

I screamed, drawing upon the Force as I did.

Then before I knew it I felt power welling up inside of me.

Which then released itself out from me in a powerful wave.

My unleashed Force Wave hit Exar Kun and sent him flying back and into the wall, creating a small crater when he landed.

Seeing this I jumped to my feet and then called my lightsaber to my left hand using telekinesis.

Empowering myself with the Force I closed the distance before Kun could recover, ignitng my lightsaber in the procees.

Then before Exar Kun could react I cut off his head.

Because when facing an enemy like Exar Kun I will always aim for the head.

When Exar Kim's severed head hit the floor the simulacrum returned to its base form.

Deactivating my saber I watched as the masters came into the room.

"Good work Padawan Sunrdier." Windu told me. "In defeating your opponent you have not only passed the Trial of Courage, but also the Trial of Flesh." He explained.

"Thank you for informing of that, master Windu." I spoke.

I then promptly dropped to my knees and allowed darkness to overtake my vision.
