Chapter 117: A Long Awaited Reunion

(3rd Person: POV)

A nervous expression on his face Lorn Pavan couldn't stop pacing back and forth across the floor of his home.

After all, he was about to meet with the son he hadn't seen in close to ten years.

Yes despite all his nervousness Lorn was also extremely happy. So happy he couldn't fully express it. He was also extremely grateful to Van for reuniting him with his son.

For it was Van who noticed that Jax was one of the several younglings members of the Jedi order had brought to Ossus to become part of the Jedaii order.

When he did so he contacted Lorn, and then had a meeting arranged for the separated father and son.

Now here Lorn.

Continuing his pacing Lorn only stopped when someone called out to him.

"Lorn, please stop. Don't wear yourself out. I'm sure everything will be fine."

That someone being Shimi Skywalker.

Since she and Lorn Pavan had grown quite close, ever since they met a couple of years ago after Van brought Shimi and Anakin back to Dominicus once the 'Battle of Naboo' came to a close.

At first Shimi and Lorn just worked together.

The two have been given jobs inside Dominicus that dealt with organizing after-action mission reports, sorting the personnel files of new employees, etc.

Clerical work.

A job that Lorn had practice in due to his past job at the Jedi temple, and Shimi picked up quickly.

In the beginning Shimi and Lorn were simply co-workers.

But the more they talked the more they realized they had quite a few things in common. One thing led to another and now they were a couple.

"I hear what you're saying Shimi, but this will be the first time I've seen Jax since he was a baby." Lorn spoke. "He doesn't know me. I'll be a complete stranger to him. What if, he wants nothing to do with me?"

"Then we'll deal with that if it comes to it." Shimi replied. "But until then, let's try and make the best of this opportunity. Okay?"

"Okay." Lorn replied.

*Ding*

A moment after he did the doorbell rang.

Telling Lorn his son had arrived.

Taking a deep breath and then exhaling Lorn headed over to his front door and then opened it up.

Revealing two Dominicus employees, and a young boy who looked like the spitting image of Lorn.

Anyone being able to tell they were related.

For the boy is Lorn's son, Jax Pavan.

Looking at his son Lorn couldn't stop tears of happiness from streaming out of his eyes.

Seeing this Jax was greatly confused, until he sensed through the Force the emotions the man was projecting towards him. They were feelings of love, longing, and protectiveness.

Jax had no idea why the man in front of him was projecting such emotions his way, but instinctively he didn't mind it. In fact, Jax found it comforting.

After a few minutes of crying Lorn collected him. "Oh sorry, please come in." He finally said.

That's when Jax entered the room, as did the two Dominicus employees.

Just as they did so Anakin came into the living room. I-5, C-3PO, and R2-D2 trailing behind the young Jedi in training.

Upon reaching Jax he stuck out his hand in his direction. "Hi, I'm Anakin. Nice to meet you." He spoke.

"Nice to meet you as well." Jax replied.

Shaking Anakin's hand.

After the two boys broke their handshake Lorn walked over to Jax and knelt down in front of him.

"Jax, did anyone tell you who I am, or why you're here?" Lorn asked.

"No, not really." Jax replied.

"I see." Lorn said. "Well the thing is Jax, I am your dad." Lorn revealed.

Filling Jax with utter shock. "You're my dad?" He asked.

"I...I am." Lorn replied. "And you don't have to call me dad, but someday I hope you will." He cautiously spoke.

Not wanting to overwhelm Jax during their very first meeting.

"O-okay." Jax replied.

His emotions all over the place. Since he had just met his father.

A thing the Jedi order has taught wasn't allowed. For his dad was an attachment, and attachments were dangerous.

Yet the other day Jax heard the words of Dooku and Van.

'If those big guys Van and master Dooku said it was okay to form attachments. Then I guess it is.' Jax thought.

"Hey Jax, are we brothers now?" Anakin suddenly asked him.

"Why are you asking me that?" Jax questioned.

"Because my mom and your dad are in a relationship. So since they are, I think that makes us brothers." Anakin said.

"Oh master Ani, family doesn't work like that." 3PO spoke. "For you and young Jax to be brothers in any sense, lady Shimi and Mr. Lorn would have to get married." The protocol droid explained.

"My counterpart is correct." I-5 added.

"I see. So mom, are you and Mr. Lorn going to get married?" Anakin asked.

Making Lorn almost trip and fall on his face. While Shimi just gave her son a gente smile.

As for Jax, he was thinking he liked Anakin and wouldn't mind calling him brother.

As for Shimi and Lorn Pavan getting together I wanted to give both a happy ending. Unlike their original endings. Especially Shimi's.

Of course this means there will be no Owen in the Skywalker family, but things happen.
