8 Chapter 8

All of the boring business stuff done, Moka and Markol flew back to the poor sector to celebrate in earnest. Before they left, Moka contacted his Aunt to inform her of the situation, and she yelled at him for not telling her sooner. When she said she was coming to get him, Moka was able to stop her, and convince her to send a few ship full of MD1s and other supplies he felt he may need. Though she felt as though Moka was hiding something from her, she had always found it hard to say 'no' to Moka.

It only took about a day for the ships to arrive at the mansion and for the droids to begin working. Moka broke them up into three squads to work efficiently, despite the numerous droids. Among the ships was a newer type of ship the Moka built called simply, the Droid Ship. It was a ship that was fully made by droids and had different factories onboard that built more droids and other materials. The first group got to work remodeling the mansion into an impenetrable fortress stocked with defense weapons. The second group got to work unloading the ships. The third and biggest group was terraforming the land for future building and killing all of the dangerous animals.

Due to the droids efficiency, the whole operation was finished in a day and a half. When they were done, the once simple mansion became the most defendable luxury fortress in the entire sector of space. Surrounding a whole complex was a massive wall with four gates made of beskar, one in each cardinal direction.

Just outside of the fortified palace was a barracks with an incredible number of underground levels that housed droids, weapons, ships, and different factories. Moka didn't want Naboo or the rich bastards about to invade to know what he had. At least not yet. Surrounding the entire fortress was a prototype of an invention he was working on, though on a much smaller scale. Surrounding the walls was a thin, almost invisible energy shield system that worked in three stages.

The first layer was a warning to stop and identify yourself. If you're cleared to go, the system is safe for you to continue traveling through. If you're not cleared, then the next two stages really won't be any fun for you. The entire second layer sends constant electric shocks that if they don't kill you outright, will definitely shock your system enough to paralyze you and leave you with permanent damage. The third layer is the final and most deadly line of defense. If you managed to make it through the second layer, you're more than likely heavily damaged, or at best slowed almost to a crawl, so when the third layer activates, it sends out a constant stream of modified whistling birds. The whistling birds aren't made from beskar like normal, but more readily available resources like steel or titanium, so that they could be mass-produced to their maximum potential. Due to the redesign, Moka also packed them with both kinetic and plasma explosives, so that both the shields and armor will be torn to shreds.

Was it excessive? Probably. But Moka figured there would be no better time than to test his future planetary defense system than this. With the shield system and defense checkpoints in place, Moka finally deemed his temporary base ready for operations. His ship has been going through repairs for about almost 4 days at this point and was told that all of the ship's repairs will be done soon. Moka planned to bring the ship back to the base and spend another day or two making some modifications he felt he needed, then he could finally be off of this planet. But, in the meantime, he was so distracted with building the base, he hadn't had a chance to play with any Naboo girls yet. A problem he planned to fix as soon as possible.

The next few days flew by in a blur of drunken pleasure, until one day he received an alert from his fortress defense system. Pulling out his holocom, Moka had a displeased look when he saw who came calling on him, and he got a seriously bad feeling. His ship was done just a day ago and his droids were almost done with their modifications. The prayed to the force the universe wasn't going to fuck him like this. Answering the holocom to show a distressed looking Padmé and a few of her guards, Captain Panaka included, Moka called his crew to listen in. "Hello, welcome to Cosmic Burger, home of the beat burgers in the galaxy, may I take your order?" Said Moka, doing his best drive-thru impersonation, getting laughs from his whole crew except Jona.

Hearing this, Padmé looked both confused and unimpressed as she glared back at the few soldiers who laughed at Moka's joke. "Prince Moka, something terrible has happened and we have much to discuss, this fortress included. Will you please let us in so that we may talk? It's of the utmost urgency!" Padmé said, trying to be authoratative, but sounding unsure of herself. She had no idea until that morning that Moka had built a palace and fortress that was somehow more grand than her own, and in less than a week no less. Wanting to tell Padmé to fuck off, but feeling the glare from Jona, Moka relented. "Fine, you can come in, but no Cosmic Burger for you." Moka said jokingly as he cleared Padmé and her group to enter the fortress, blowing their minds as they looked around.

Walking through the fortress, Padmé and her group weren't sure whether or not they were walking through a grand military base, a noble living sector, or a sprawling garden. All over were different military buildings or on a different section, lavish homes for even a minor king. And everywhere, even grown on the building was foliage and beautiful bursts of nature. The buildings themselves looks so in tune with that foliage, it looked as though everything here, even the base, grew naturally in beautiful harmony. Padmé was awestruck. "That ridiculous Prince that can never take anything seriously made all of this?" She asked out loud to no one in particular.

"Well, if you think I'm that ridiculous, now you're definitely not getting any Cosmic Burger." Said a familiar voice, pulling Padmé back to reality. Looking around, Padmé hadn't even realized they made it to the most beautiful, yet imposing palace she had ever seen. Much like the rest of the base, the palace was beautiful and had vines and different color fruits and flowers grown on it almost naturally. But as gorgeous the palace was, it was something, or better yet someone else that nearly took her breath away. Standing there at the top of a grandiose front staircase, was a vision of a man who only be Moka out of his armor and wearing a black and gold outfit that looked like a cross between a robe and a military uniform. Over the years, Moka's cybernetic body has done him wonders, from his tall, muscular stature, perfectly streamlined muscles and chilled jaw. He had long, black dreads he swooped back which made it look like a majestic lion's mane, a trimmed goatee which only enhanced his masculine appeal.

Padmé's face quickly took on a cute shade of red as she realized she was staring at Moka for a little too long. Seeing this, Moka couldn't help the smirk that came on his face. "Welcome, Queen Padmé to my beautiful vacation home. Come on in so we can get to this urgent matter. My and my crew will be leaving soon." Moka said, as he guided the group to the large conference room he made. Mandalorian art hung to the walls as a large round table dominated the room. Though it was rounded, so there was a typical "leader" side, there was one chair different from the rest that look like a rolling throne. This was obviously Moka's seat, as he sat in it naturally noting to all that in this palace, he was in charge.

"Okay, now that we are all settled, why don't you tell me about this urgent matter of yours, Queen Padmé?" Moka said, taking the lead on the conversation, that made Padmé upset. The whole fortress made Padmé upset and figured it should be addressed first. "Okay, then first, why is a prince from another nation building a military base on my world, and without permission no less." Padmé said, looking pointedly at Moka who only smiled, making her even more irritated. 'Why is this man so infuriating?!' Padmé thought to herself.

"Well Queen Padmé, there is a simple answer to that. This simply isn't a military base. I'm a Mandalorian royal, and prince no less. All of our homes look like this. Trust me, if I wanted to build a base, it'd be far better than this place I put together. Next question." Moka said, trying to rush the conversation along. The more he talked to her, the worse the feelings in his nuts were giving him, and his nuts have never steered him wrong. Hearing Moka rush her along only made Padmé more upset. "Okay then, if this isn't a military base, then why the excessive security system, the large weapons everywhere, and the walled fortress?" Padmé asked again.

"I. Am. A. Mandalorian. Prince! And I'm stuck here on this boring planet full of obnoxious and stuck-up people who think that they're better than me, while I wait for my ship to be fixed. I bought this land not only fairly, I paid multiple times over the asking price, so I am fully allowed to do whatever I want on my land without government interference. Now since that part of the interrogation is done, can we please move on so me and my crew can leave this damn planet and never come back. Once again, Padmé was shocked by Moka's angry reaction, but then realized that once again she had made things worse and was in fact interrogating him about his home. She felt even worse since she was one of the biggest voices to advocate for less government intervention.

Seeing the situation already falling apart thanks to her, Padmé took a big breath and decided to get to the main reason she came there. "I'm afraid I have some terrible news. The Trade Federation has set up a blockade around Naboo in retaliation for the Senate imposing taxes on them. I've already sent word to the republic and they've sent out ambassadors to send a peaceful end to this illegal blockade, but I fear the worst." Said Padmé, each word crushing to Moka. This was the worst possible situation. Had he known it was so soon, he would've risk leaving with no modifications, and now he was stuck. "Okay, and why did you come to find me? It sounds as though your plight will be ending soon and our nations are not friends, so I won't involve myself with your politics." Moka said seriously.

At this, Padmé felt all her hopes nearly dashed away by unadulterated reality. It was true, their nations were far from friends, and if Padmé made Moka hate her even more, she feared they'd be full-on enemies. But her people were in danger and she made it her mission when she first became queen to right Naboo's wrongs and make sure Naboo had a prosperous future. If she could get over her ideals, being friends with the powerful Kahlua would be a great step. "You are right that our two people have had a troubled past, but I won't give up hope that one day me, you and our people could become great friends and allies one day. So I'm here speaking for the people on Naboo, if the situation arises, will you please aid me? If the negotiations fall apart, which I pray they don't, I'll need to fly to the Republic Senate on Coruscant to plead my case. I have heard many tales of your exploits and heard that the Tempest is one of the fastest ships in the known galaxy. I ask for you to escort me there and once this ordeal is done, Kahlua will always have a friend in Naboo." Padmé said, hoping to appeal to Moka.

Hearing this, Moka began thinking about his future plans. Before he just planned on becoming King of Kahlua once Rox was too old for the throne, despite her objections, as she wanted him to take the throne when he became of age at 16. Moka originally set out on his adventure around the galaxy to explore the world of Star Wars with all the privileges of a rich prince and just have fun until he was forced to take the throne.

Now he was starting to think he wasn't using his time wisely, as he was slowly setting foundations for an easy life down the line, but he's realizing he will never get a better opportunity to use the original Star Wars events to his advantage than now. Why not take the throne early? He doesn't have to be stuck there like he originally thought, he'd be a fucking king and could do whatever he wanted!
