3 Field Work

Finally, after five years of studying and working with Desyk, we are going on a field trip! I'm eight years old now, and my schedule had pretty much been the same since I started it at three. Physically I'm more like a fourteen-year-old, the Force has wholly adjusted my body, and I'm more like the next evolution of humanity now. When I reach maturity, I'll likely be almost seven feet tall and have a body like Thor. Mentally I started at a super-genius level, and from there, my processing speed has increased, and my memory is almost perfect. I can recreate anything I remember in a mental space to explore like a simulation; it's beyond impressive. I learned everything Desyk had to teach me and even finished up a few advanced degrees on my own over the holonet. Now I need experience and capital to do what I want. Not that I've been idle these five years, no, I've accumulated a nice stack of credits about 25,000 along with pieces and parts of tech that I quickly threw into my dimensional space. Speaking of that ability, my dimension has grown with my mental skills. I now have enough space for a small moon; I could support and ecosystem and increase the size to be a solar system in its own right, but I need the materials. I can't make something from nothing, but I can transmute existing elements with my knowledge of physics and chemistry. I've done some pretty cool experiments in the dimensional space and figured that I could make my equipment in there much more quickly than in the world outside. It has something to do with my will being the primary mover in my dimension, and out here, there are too many other voices, many of them much more potent than mine.

So my plans for the future are to save my city from destruction, make a ton of credits, and explore the galaxy. To do this, I'm going to create a corporation on Rori that will own the Spice mines here, build profitable plantations for exporting food to Naboo and luxury flora out-system, develop fisheries in the swamps, and create a growing population for the workforce. Rori will be my base of operations, and once I grow big enough, I plan to develop the whole Naboo system. There are too many untapped resources here: asteroid fields, a gas giant to mine, and most of Rori to use as an agricultural world. Naboo and it's surrounding systems have so much potential, but it's far from other centers of population and trade, so it never developed. I would change all that, but first, I needed to get some local influence, thus the field trip.

It's early morning, and the sun is just peeking through the swamp mists as I walk up to Teacher Desyk's home. The plan for the day is to tour the spaceport and test out my language skills, Bocce and Durese are two common spacer languages, and I need to practice for when I move off-world. Going to the spaceport will also give me a chance to look at and hopefully buy a junk ship. On Rori, there weren't any junkyards outside of the spaceport complex in Restuss.

The walk to the spaceport is calm and we enjoy the morning hustle and bustle of the marketplace opening. Several seasonal sellers are in town today to offload produce gather in the outlying farms. The area around the city to the south is fertile enough to support a few farms and the harvests are bi-annual celebrations in the market. The hucksters are trying to pawn off trinkets since there are more people than usual to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. We make our way out of the market and through the spaceport gates, large imposing stone arches that do little to actually keep people in or out, I mean we have spaceships a wall isn't that defensive anymore.

"Teacher, I'd like to look at the ships in the junkyard. I've saved some credits and I want to try my hand at fixing something up to finish my mastery in Aerospace Engineering and Fabrication." I ask Desyk as we pass the small fenced-in junk area.

"Kid, you're almost more trouble than you're worth." He gives me a cheeky grin. Tsk, what an annoying teacher.

"Greetings and salutations to you fair trader." I lay it on a little thick to the twi'lek junk dealer. It never hurts to open with too much flattery either they like it or underestimate you as a clueless rube. "I am in the market for a personal spacecraft and I see that you have a few older models available." There are a few broken shuttles and gunships spread around the yard.

"Boy, I've got no time for sweet-talking. I can offer you any hulk over there for 25,000 credits, take a look and let me know what you want and if you don't have the credits get lost." The man slouches back in his chair and doses off.

I wave for Desyk to stay there and make my way around the yard. There are parts all over from droid pieces to broke down laser assemblies. I take my time and using my TK to her several hidden components from the junk piles into my storage space. By the time I'm done I have enough to complete several projects and choose an older gunship that's about the size of a football field and two stories tall. It's so broken that it won't ever fly again if I didn't have my cheats.
