36 Ch.35 Frontline Assault (2)

The rebel soldier reached for Lance's extended hand and pulled him up.

'Damn this guy is heavy.' The soldier gritted his teeth as he pulled.

Lance quickly made his way to the surface, before being dragged behind cover.

"What's the status of the enemy forces?" Lance turned to the commanding officer.

The officer turned a holographic map on and began marking locations.

"The enemy are hiding about 45 meters in front of us. They haven't moved up to much because of our sniper cover." In the background a few snipers hid behind bushes staring down their scopes.

"Okay then what's the quickest route out of this area? I need to get this data back to base quickly."

The officer adjusted the map, zooming out to include the forest further south behind them.

"Follow this charted route through the forest then meet up with Bravo company. You need to move as quick as you can, command is already getting reports of multiple enemy squads on route to this location."

The map zoomed out showing the entire area of the forest, including Yuonin city. The map began to change as multiple red groups began to slowly incircle the entire area.

"In a few hours tops this entire area is gonna be a war-zone." The officer transferred the map guide to Lance's datapad.

"Alright, you boys stay strong." Lance pressed his hand to his head, giving a military salute.

"For the rebellion!" Hearing a brother in arms, the other soldiers screamed out in kind.

As the soldiers yelled their chants, blaster fire began to rain down on the area.

"Enemy attack, everyone behind cover and return fire to those bastards!"

Lance gathered himself and began running through the forest. Multiple shots exploded into the ground and trees around him.

As he ran he turned his head back to see the battlefield. However, he noticed a blaster bolt fly his way.

Lance quickly jumped to the side before, barrel rolling behind a tree. The rebel soldiers began returning fire to the military forces. A rebel grenadier cooked a grenade then tossed it at the approaching soldiers.

"Grenade!!" One soldier notice the small ball flying towards them. He quickly screamed before diving out of the area.

As the grenade hit the ground; 'Boom!!' It exploded, catching a few soldiers not paying attention nearby.

One of the unlucky soldiers were thrown across the area. His right arm missing, with large amounts of blood painting the grass below.

The rebels used this opportunity to move forward, trying to move this battle to a more close quarters one.

As both forces drew nearer, a long game of peek a boo began, with few people getting grazed here and there.

Deep in the forest, a large group of people began appearing through a portal. The elves and dwarves began to split off into multiple squads.

Dwinley, Lady Sylvas, and a few others walked to the portal waiting on their Lord's arrival.

The portal began to shrink as a few figures appeared at the entrance.

"Lord Zelon!" Everyone knelt as Zelon walked out of the portal. The rest of his guards, Kael'thas, Galadriel, and a group of robed figures exited the portal following closely behind Zelon.

Zelon raised his hand, signaling for everyone to rise.

"We can celebrate my return later, for now what's the situation with the enemy forces?"

Mordindor walked over to Zelon then gestured for him to follow.

"At this time the 2 forces have begun to battle on the forest outskirts. About 40 men in total, 20 men to both sides; for now the rebels have killed a few of the military soldiers." The two made their way to the central information hub.

As the two entered, one of the elves activated the holographic map on the table displaying the entire area.

"The battle is taking place here, 6 miles southwest of our location." Mordindor began placing figures signifying the two fighting groups.

"Our scouts have also, sent reports of incoming troops from both sides." Eleven more figures appeared on the map; three teams moved to reinforce Alpha squad from behind. The other three military squad surrounded the forest slowly pushing in.

On the northeastern side near Yuonin city, 5 squads of rebel forces began to push into the forest. Two squads pushed down into the northwestern side; while the other three made a beeline for the ongoing battlefield.

'Hmm.' Zelon observed the map coming up with a battle plan.

"For now begin hiding the base from the outsiders. Also arrange for 20 squads of Wood Elf Archers to begin hiding in the forest. Once both sides are stuck in battle we will strike with an ambush; encircling them from all sides."

Right before Mordindor was about to send out his orders, Zelon stopped him.

"Wait better yet, also send out a few Night Elves to sneak around the forest releasing mist over the entire area. Have them release the mist once the two sides clash." Zelon sat down on a chair nearby to watch the holographic map.

"As you wish my Lord." Mordindor activated his communication device and began sending out Zelon's orders.

Three hundred Wood Elves gathered in the underground barracks. As they all lined up, a dwarf would walk in front of them handing them a set of Equinox Light Armor, a E65B standard Laser Rifle equipped with a scope and long range barrel (My Creation), a couple grenades, and a RF Noel Personnel Blaster(pretty much a pistol).

Everyone sorted themselves in groups of 15, creating 20 squads equipped for battle.

Aldrion and Bratol stood in front of these men and women, similarly equipped.

"We will be leading 10 squads each, our objective is to dig in at these marked locations and wait for an ambush opportunity." A map appeared on the wall behind them, with markings in various locations in the forest.

"When you get to your locations; spread out, stay silent, and wait for your leaders signal to fire."

"Any questions?!" Aldrion stared out at everyone, looking for a single person that questioned their orders.

"Alright then you have your orders, let's move out!"
