1 Chapter 1

[Beacon has been placed, starting host revival.]

Tony woke up in a dimly lit stairway. He was looking around, trying to figure out where he was at. From the corner of his eye, he saw some symbols and when he tried to focus on it a screen appeared in front of his eyes.

After he figured out how the interface works, he opened the manual and read through it. When he was finished he opened the settings menu and customized the interface. In the corner of his view was a minimap that shows the entire floor that he was on. With the activation of the beacon this building had been entirely charted, with the added bonus of being light up for 24 hours.

The first thing he did was to start moving towards the entrance, which was three floors above him. The journey there was long and tiresome for his close to the 50-year-old body. The building that he was in ruins. Luckily supporting structure and stairs were mostly intact but by what he could see they needed some reinforcing. The damage was mostly focused in the centre of the room where a large hole was located. What was annoying was that aside from what looked like an elevator shaft there were no other means to travel straight through all the floors. The stairways were all spread out on the floors.

He spent 40 minutes to get to the entrance and he almost died once. As he reached the final stairway he saw that there was a large hole in front of it. Because to get to another stairway he would need to travel to the third floor and hope that the other stairway is not broken, he decided to jump. He took some steps back and started to run. Before he could jump he stumbled upon a rock and started to fall. Before he fell entirely he managed to cling to one of the corners, slowly he started to slip. Quickly he used his left artificial hand to try and hold himself in place but because of the panic, he used too much force cracking his hand. Slowly he pulled himself up. He moved away from the hole and sat down. Thanks to the adrenaline his body was shaking so he decided to calm down. When he started to feel normal again he moved on.

The closer he got to the entrance the hotter it got. Because the building had dimmer lights he was blinded by one of his worst enemies. The sun. His second biggest enemy was sand. From his teenage days, he has always loved cold. It probably came from the fact that he lived in northern Europe and as he grew up he was fascinated with the military and decided to become a soldier. As the Middle East was a conflict zone he went on multiple missions there. And he simply despised that place. Sand and heat were everywhere. And the sand would become really hot and then it would get everywhere and burn you. The only reason why he went there was the money and the chance to get away from his lovely wife.

After he saw his surroundings, he decided to explore the ground floor. He found some carcasses and recent eggshells. Possibly a few months old. Thanks to his map and some snooping around, he found a small pathway under the rubble that led to a section close to the entrance. In that section, there were fifteen smaller and two bigger rooms in it. He decided to set up his camp there but to do that he would have to clean it up.

When he was finally finished, he surfed through the shop section and looked at all the stuff he could get, for free. He decided to do a barbeque at the entrance of the building. He set up a table and chair, then he took out a grill, placed logs into it and set it on fire, then he took out an ice chest and placed beers into it along with a vodka and multiple cans of coca-cola. To keep the boredom away he took out a book and started to read it while sipping a beer. When the coals were ready he bought multiple shashlik types and started to cook them. When the meat was so tender that it would break between his fingers, he started to eat. In the end, he didn't have much of a mood to drink alone and decided to go to sleep. With the powers of drunken men, he crawled through the small path and the moment he reached his bed he fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, he was woken up by the flapping of wings. He took out a flashlight and went to see what was going on. He slowly crawled through the rubble but didn't leave from its safety. He started to look around, lighting up his surroundings when suddenly something crushed right above him. Suddenly one of those things rammed its head right into the hole. It tried to bite Tony but did not reach him. Tony almost caused an accident in the tunnel and quickly escaped from there. He then headed towards his bed and went to sleep.

In the morning Tony woke up in silence, he slowly went to see if thous monstrosities were still there or hopefully it was just a dream. He slowly crept forwards, until he was right next to the opening. He carefully observed his surroundings but at first, saw nothing, then he crawled out of the passage to have a better look at his surroundings. He first moved deeper into the building but found nothing, then he went outside to see how his party equipment was and to possibly find any signs of movement. He found nothing, even some of the leftover meat was on the table only covered by some sand. Starting to hope that it was just a nightmare he headed back. Just as he was about to crawl back to his path something tripped on him. He swiped it away with his fingers. It was greenish liquid. Then another drop hit him. He took a look above him and saw a big bat-like creature hanging on the wall. It looked like its head died when a stone sank on his head that was in a hole. After deeply sighting he decided to eat before dealing with that mess.

When he finished breakfast he started to wonder how he could get that thing down from there. At first, he tried to pull it out but because it was slightly too high he didn't have the angel and could not pull it out. Then he tried to climb up and lift the rock with the help of a few tools which didn't work either, as the rock had too much weight on it. As he searched through the shop to help something with his problem. Suddenly he remembered one of the system options, namely the inventory. It worked like a charm. In addition to that when he stored it in his inventory an additional window appeared.

With nothing else to do, he started to reread through the manual again with more focus this time, in case he forgot something that was important. Soon he found a chapter describing how to summon additional people. It stated that to summon additional people he must provide them with a place to sleep and all the necessary things needed to live. By fulfilling thous requirements he could summon a person with the education of a middle school graduate along with life experience of one. It went on describing other requirements that he would need to complete to get people with a better education. Ones that he was currently interested in were teachers. To get on them he needs to have all the necessary tools to teach a subject with the addition of a classroom and sleeping quarters for the teacher. It was possible to get better teachers if he filled other requirements.

Remembering that he had a limited amount of light left he went to one of the cleaner rooms and began to clean it. The rooms were big enough to fit at least 20 people. To get it done faster, Tony stored the bigger rocks in his inventory, then he swept up all the smaller trash and threw it into a bucket. To finish it off, he moped the floor. Then he searched the store for good beds and closets. When he was done he summoned 19 people. He made a quick introduction and told them what the situation was. Because they had a few hours of light remaining they decided to clean up the hallway. It had a connection to all the other rooms and the only problem was that it was too high. When they had finished their job, they set up tables, chairs and torches that would have to work as their lights for now. Rest of the day was spent getting to know each other and having some fun and doing barbecue. At night some of them slept like bears hibernating while others did not get a second of sleep.

In the morning, they were woken up by an alarm that Tony had set up. He had decided that it was time to get back in shape now, especially as he was responsible for other lives as well. He gave them a set of sportswear and went to the entrance of the building. There they did a slight warm-up and went running. when they returned they were completely exhausted but Tony forced themselves to do stretches and only then did he allow them back to rest. He himself prepared some breakfast and while trying to put together a day plan.

Being thoughtful of their current needs he decided to set up a generator and wires. They first cleaned up one of the smaller rooms and then added some sound-isolating material. Then they made the generator a base to put it on. When they had finished doing that, they started to lay down the wires. For that, they needed to make some holes into the walls and that was not the easiest thing to do. After they managed to set up the wires they started to connect them with plugs and lights. By the end of the day, they had set up a working electrical system. Next day when they went to add some fuel to the generator they noticed that the room had started to heat up, which was why they had to make a ventilation opening into the wall.

In the following week, they started to set up the classrooms along with rooms for the teachers followed by the bathroom and WC, after that, they set up a workshop and finally, they began working on the sleeping rooms. Tony made one for the smaller rooms into a freezer and the last big one was made into a cafeteria. When all the jobs were done Tony decided to change their old beds into bunkbeds to get more people.

2 rooms were made smaller to accommodate four teachers.

The current population is 200 with the addition of four teachers and Tony.
