Chapter 1

The transition from one galaxy to another was always a struggle since every planet had its people and customs which did not provide much time for training for an up and coming Jedi Padawan who was assigned to a Jedi Master who was a diplomat on behalf of the Jedi and The Republic creating many connections for both organizations and this is where young Jedi Thann Oteros found himself as he and his master was constantly in the field and hardly at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. At first the young padawan enjoyed being in the deep reaches of the galaxy he soon found it lonesome as he began to miss his friends since this was only the beginning of his apprenticeship and his master noticed " Thann what seems to be troubling you ?" the older man asked to which than was surprised but gave an answer immediately " Well Master T'onn we've been on this diplomat mission for quite awhile and it seems to have no end, but there is an end isn't there master?" the boy answered and asking a question at the same time to which Master T'onn responded after waiting and thinking about how to answer his young charge " Yes there is an end coming soon but we must be patient for though we are close to being done the next part requires delicacy to which you should take note for the future as a Jedi you must know how to navigate all situations, now while we wait lets get some bladework training done young one." which got the young man eagerly sprang into action.

The young padawan began practicing his masters preferred style form six s Niman also known as the moderation form or the diplomats form which was a combination of the five forms before it and also the style used by many in the order since it didn't take much to become proficient but disliked by those who specialized in a main style but Thann had heard that while the form did take time to learn he had also heard that many masters of Jedi in past times used the form with great effectiveness and so chose to follow in the footsteps of his master but with a different outlook on the form then his master which also in some ways caused the two to have a hard time working together " Relax Thann you don't need to rush through the sequence take your time and perfect the movement." Mater T'onn called out as his student performed the sequence of movements in a rushed manner and then did them again in slower manner to the pleasure of his master pushing himself not to lose his cool since he knew that his master was right in encouraging perfection in practicing the moment but what the boy really wanted was to spar his master to see how far he'd actually progressed in his actual combat abilities, but Master T'onn knew his students heart and would not entertain him till the boy learned some self discipline and part of why their mission this far in deep space had yet not concluded but today the Master was in no mood to take the long route instructing his student but a more direct one which was not his usual style but Thann was pushing him in new ways.

"Thann" Master T'onn called to which the boy stopped what he was doing "yes Master," the boy stopped in the middle of a blade sequence deactivating his lightsaber mid-swing and approached his master who was sitting at the ships holo communication receiver which appeared to be playing a message "Master T'onn you and your Padawan are to return to Coruscant as soon as possible your presence has been requested by the Jedi High Council" Master T'onn found the message to be odd and wanted his Padawans opinion since the boy had been gifted at reading body language better than most his age and found that this would be a good opportunity to teach a lesson that would be useful for the future and reinforce the young mans ability to read people. Once the boy had heard the message and seen who was delivering it he had no doubt that the message was authentic since the message had been delivered by High Council member Jedi Master Plo Koon and told his master what he thought to which the master agreed but still found the message a bit worrisome since he was not used to being pulled from the field in the middle of a mission even if said mission was all ready, but orders were orders and so they began making they're way back to the temple.

The journey took a few days since the return trip had been close to the unknown regions and would take some time to navigate out of that region and within that time Master T'onn had Thann doing meditation combined with saber practice hoping that the boy would learn to let the force guide his actions rather than just react to any situations that may present themselves down the road especially when the time comes for his Padawans transition to Knighthood. The journey back to Coruscant ended with no issues along the way and when their ship finally landed at the temple they were greeted by the temple guards who escorted them with immediately to the high councils chambers.

Once they had entered the middle of the room Master Yoda greeted them with his odd way of speaking and then Master Windu went straight to the point of why Master T'onn and his apprentice had been summoned "The reason for your recall to the temple is that Master Qui-Gon and his apprentice need assistance with their mission to Naboo due to their report that their is a possible Sith at work and we the council feel that sending just them alone might not be enough to subdue this supposed Sith lord. You'll meet them at their ship." Master T'onn did not ask any questions since there seemed to be an urgency in the Jedi Masters voice that time was short even to the point that he forgot to mention the customary send off that usually followed the end of a council meeting. As soon as the two left the council chambers they were met up with one of the Jedi aids who passed them a data pad with the all the information pertaining to the mission, Once Master T'onn and Thann were back on the ground level he pulled his apprentice to the side and instructed him to go to the sparring arena just before they left.

A few hours later both Masters Qui-Gon and T'onn were both observing their students in the dueling arena as they prepared to face each other seeing were both Padawans skill levels were at was something that T'onn would like to know just before heading into situations unknown, that being the case T'onn also requested that he and Qui-Gon also had a duel to the younger Jedi Knight it was best to go in fully prepared it was just getting the older man to agree " To be honest if the situation was not warranted then I'd not agree to your request but the circumstances say otherwise so yes we can have our duel but time is short so we must be quick about it."

Both apprentices eyed each other up and down trying to guess what was the others weakness and how best to exploit but Thann was not the patient type and strategized better in the midst of combat so he began the engagement with a quick saber salute and then ran at the older apprentice who raised his saber in the ready position of his chosen form and from that Thann began to run simulations in his head on how to start now when Thann was close enough Obi-Wan side stepped his attacker and brought his lightsaber down in an overhead strike that was defended by a one handed parry from his opponent and from there the both began a barrage of attacks with neither giving up ground that was until Thann created an opening by quickly switching from offensive to defensive movements and back again which overwhelmed his opponent but such was Thanns benefit since the only other person he'd dueled in the past year was his master who was held in high standard by the rest of his compatriots and that led to Thinn's quick development which led to his overwhelming victory over Obi-Wan.

The two masters over looking the duel were soon joined by a few others including masters Yoda and Windu who were somewhat apprehensive at the fact that a duel was going on but understood that the level of preparation was more than necessary and probably not the best since the timing of the situation was sudden especially with the fact that the chosen one might have been found even though he was much older than what the council would allowed to be trained which was something that would be pushed to later date and those who knew could feel that the upcoming events on Naboo would forever set things in motion.
