6 Day 2 The Test Part 3

Four hours treaking through the slums, they arrived at a somewhat fortified building. As soon as they entered inside Alex separated himself from the troopers that held him up. Running to the side he spits up some black blood with a few bone fragments. Taking that chance he reached into his inner robes. Grabbing out of his inventory and throwing a datapad towards the group.

"Found that mixed in with the Rakata remains. Should be somewhat useful to you all. From what I glimpsed there is a facility of some sort here." Removing his top clothing Alex braced his hands against the railing.

"Rrnnn, ' the metal started to creen and warp under his ministrations. Alex's face contorted in pain but he had felt worse. The sensations were like a fresh cut dragging along your skin. Slowly repairing under the force and his natural healing.

"Crrk, pop, " the sound of his bones grinding inside his body echo in the room. The troopers did their best to hold it in.

"I think I am going to be sick." A trooper said after he walked in the room and turned right back around. The man completely forgot why he entered in the first place.

The young knight walked to another room feeling uncomfortable after a few minutes passed. Something about the marks on Alex's back unnerved him. Even with his training, there were things he had not to witness in his life.

The Jedi Masters watched in fascination. It was always quite rare to see an event happen. Alex was not the first to use the force in such a way to help one's body. Knowing it would be quite an ordeal and time spent they started to leave when another trooper talked about a meeting coming up. Master Myr stood behind as well. The boy that was saved before along with a few others around his age stood in listening.. The child sat and watched in fascination.

Wanting to figure out something Master Myr started ro move her hands through the force around Alex. Startled she mumbled, "my guess was correct. The light is drawn to him. Protecting him... from something. But what could it be?" Wanting to probe deeper she stopped herself. "I can't. He is not my padawan and is not apart of our order it would be rude to pry." Dismissing her wonderment Master Myr started to work on her lightsaber with the supplies in the room.

The damage from the fight had all been repaired. When Alex spent his stat points enhancing himself the wounds reopened and had to heal.

Finishing up Alex reapplied his clothes and started to meditate. Every now and then a bone would bulge against his skin as it fixed back in place.

"Ahh, " exhaling Alex stood up and looked at the child not too far from him. "What?"

"Ah, nothing are you ok? That sounded like it hurt a lot actually." Standing to his feet the boy wipes the dirt off his butt.

"I have had worse. but yes it did hurt." Looking around Alex watched Master Myr finish up her work. She walked over to the two. "What is your name?"

"It's Balfour, Balfour Velo's sir." The child said beaming a smile. Despite the filthy living conditions, he had a cheery disposition.

"Good name. No need for the sir part. Issue named Alexander but you can call me Alex. As for my last name, " Alex's voice trailed off a little as he tried to remember his name. One name floated to the surface. "Alexander Primus sorry bout that. I blanked out for a little." Reaching out for a handshake him and the boy shook hands firmly. "How good are you with the rifle?"

"I am ok. Not the best but I make it count. That's what my dad use to say." Balfour said quietly at the end.

"Really now. That's a good thing. From what I can feel there are a lot of the beastie for you to practice on."

"Padawan Alex, " Master Myr broke up their discussion. "We should meet up with the others something urgent came up. Follow me to the meeting room."

"Ok." Figuring she was right Alex followed behind. Speaking without looking back he told Balfour, " come on. This effects you as well. You are a fighter right?"

"Ah right. Coming." Balfour followed as fast as his little legs could take him.

In the command room, the discussion was going full on. It looked to have become heated at several instances by the look of several peoples expressions. Alex propped against the wall listening with Balfour.

Master Myr went to join the other Masters. As Alex waited he partially listened to the conversation as he opened the stat window and viewed his quest log and went over the summaries.

Alex was broken away from his log reading when he heard a noise.

"Bang, " a Republic commander smashed his hands against the table. "This is for the good of the people and you won't help us? Stopping these creatures here will help save so many. Cant, you see that?"

"As I said," the one Master spoke neutrally standing up. "We have something else more important. We can't help you." Walking away he stopped in front of Master Myr. "We will investigate this matter. Stay here and see what you can achieve." Most of the others followed suit behind him.

Leaving Master Myr, another Master and the young Jedi knight from earlier in the room. The commander sat down defeated. The room became quiet.

"What the hell?" Alex asked no one in particular. He walked over to the table and looked at the display map. Trusting in the force to guide his actions he was surprised that he understood some of the outpost markings as well as a possible breach in the defenses. Moving his hands touching the screen he saw a few communication problems as well.

"If we attack here and there we can push back and save these residents. Securing or gaining that place down as a foothold afterward will result in a boost in tactile advantage." Looking at the other floors he tried to form a plan. Being at the very bottom of thousands of levels was freaking nuts. "Thousands of floors and the Republic needs more troops down here. This place is just a few organizations from being like the Hutt cartels."

"I resent that remark." A native trooper said.

"Ok, you resent that remark. How nice for you." Taking a seat Alex tried to formulate a plan. "Did not mean anything by it. I like tact as my teacher put it."

"Do you plan to help?" Balfour asked hoping.

"Yes. I have the time. I already passed my trials. All that is left is for me to return. If I head back now I could probably get something for completing everything promptly. But this looks more important." Alex was referring to the bonus of getting the shapeshifter. Weighing his options he realized it would be better to help down here a little more than go for the shifter. Looking to the boy he wondered something. "Would you rather I go?"

"No, we welcome all the help of Master Jedi." A republic soldier said interrupting. "He is just a child he doesn't speak for us."

"That is a terrible thing to say. I am actually only staying really because of the boy and the remaining people." Alex leaned back in the chair. "Also not a Jedi or a Master. So what's the plan of attack? those are just my own suggestions."

Realizing their mistake the Republic soldiers apologized before getting to work on a plan. Any help was welcomed. Within the next hour, the group made a plan for a coordinated strike.

"All right this will have to do." The commander looked at everyone and dismissed them. He walked to Alex. "We will begin tomorrow around 4:00 am. That is the best opportunity to strike. Usually, the beast are not out during that time. Rest well Alex. See you in 5 hours."

A mission popped up.

(Help protect the Corscanti. Rewards ????, ????, ????)

'Well, that just beats all. What was that bloody saying?' Touching his chin contemplation Alex snapped his fingers. "I got it. I totally remember now. The universe always has a way of guiding you to where you need to be."

"Eh... does that mean you are supposed to be here. The universe??" Balfour asked puzzled.

"Excuse me, padawan Alex." The other Jedi Master came over to speak once they were alone. "I would like to ask some questions."

"Sure make it quick though." Staring hard, Alex saw that the man was an actual male Togruta. His hollow horns had a slight twist to them. Very unusual. This gave a slightly menacing look. "Master... never got your name. What is your name?" Alex felt something weird was happening.

"Of course I will keep it short. I am Master Soruda. This is my padawan Kirell. Speaking of names who is your Master?" Gesturing towards the young knight from earlier His eyes never left Alex.

"She goes by the name of Teacher in the temple." Alex wouldn't just give out his master name. That was damn well inscribed in his head.

"I see. But what is her name?" Soruda said pressing for an actual answer. It was discussed earlier while he was recovering to try to find out more between the other masters.

"You can call her Teacher. That is the name she prefers to go by. If you are feeling really lucky, call her Mistress. That always gets a smile out of her." Alex said this grinning. His eyes had a bit of a taunting look.

"I take it you know her actual name." Master Myr placed her hand on Soruda's shoulder, she felt something was wrong. Soruda removed her hand and used the force on Alex. trying to persuade would have worked when he first arrived but not now. "Padawan Alex tell me your master's name."

Alex shook his head to resist the weak buzzing the man's voice compelled. Pushing out in anger he stroke out with the force. He didn't wish to kill him just punish him for what he tried to do.

Master Soruda caught off guard went flying across the floor. He didn't expect a padawan to be able to do that to him. Much less that he would.

"What the hell is wrong with you!?" Alex demanded more than asked. His hand went to his vibrosword. Behind them, he made eye contact with the kid. Looking back he raised his sword just in time.

"Kwishuuu" Kirell had drawn his lightsaber attacking immediately. Kirell pushed back trying to get the upper hand but couldn't with the size difference. Foam started coming from the side of his mouth. His eyes had become bulgy and green.

Master Myr slid over to check on the man. She sighed in relief when the check only showed it was a mental backlash and a slight bump from the impact. "He will be up in a matter of.." Master Myr voice caught in her throat when she looked up. "What are you two doing?!"

With his head close, Alex saw a weird tube attached to the man's neck coming from his back. "Take a shot whenever you can kid." Moving away from the kid trying to bite him, Alex pulled back surprised. "Seriously biting! Who does that!?"

'What the hell?!' Balfour thought. He had no idea what was going on. But he knew right from wrong. And what Kirell was doing looked wrong. 'I have to do what's right! Father-Mother, please guide me.' Young Balfour's eyes lit up with a little force energy. Helping to make sure his shots aimed true.
