8 Day 2 The Test End

Sniper's up top started picking off any Rakghoul they could effectively. All the Heavies had gathered at the sturdiest building. The turbo lift they rode on, rose up after grabbing additional ammunition. The able-bodied civilians who stayed ran to get the ammo. This was not the original set up but after an explosion from one of the beast, the heavies had to reposition.

The rockets landed over the barricade blasting several Rakghoul apart. The droid was a modified MagnaGuard. A droid created by Holowan Mechanicals. IG-series to be exact. A second salvo went off killing more of the crawling beast that made it up top. From the leftside, a mortar could be heard firing. The locals had old technology down below. Something the Republic soldiers scoffed at earlier in the fighting. But now... now they wish there was more.

"Booom." Mortar fire rained from above. Landing in the heard of beast killing them by the tens.

"Booom." Another blast rang out killing them and destroying some buildings along with it. The building pieces slid down the side creating dust that obscured vision. This did not stop the assault.

"Booom." Another mortar went off blasting a good chunk in the line of Rakghoul that climbed up the side of the buildings.

Alex continued to guide the missiles and any other fire that he could into the creatures. With the last of the shells exhausted the soldiers started to panic a little. When the dust finally settled some cried out in fear.

"Ahhh, there is so many of them." A soldier said. "We cannot kill them all. What are we going to do?" Another till the right of him asked. In a matter of minutes, the camp became restless. all until one person spoke.

Master Myr stood close to the front lines and washed the troops in force energy. Removing the fear from there hearts and reminding them what they fought for. "Do not give up hope," she said. "You are not fighting alone. We can still win. But only if you continue to fight. "Pick up your guns. And fire!"

The troopers bathed in the light side energy and reached for there weapons. Firing away at the remaining beast they refused to surrender. As the energy washed away from them Master Myr stumbled back a little. Drained but not finished. Kirell looked at her in awe. Master Soruda smiled. Seeing such pure light energy, he knew it would be best to keep fighting. All three looked to the top at Alex and the droid.

As another salvo went out Alex continued to guide the missiles. It was a little easier with each fire. If the Rakghouls had range however, this strategy would not work at all. "Thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk." The missile pod's chute sounded off. "I am all out rockets," the droid whined. Once the rockets were all spent the mechanical parts broke down and attached to the droids midriff.

Clasping his hands togethor, Alex pulled the broken up pieces from the ground and launched them into the air onto the stupid creatures to slow them down. Some of the debris hit the sides. More buildings came down slowing the forces of Rakghoul and cutting off several paths for the beast to escape.

"Ha..ha..damnit.. I think I used too much on that one. Definitely can't use force apex." Alex took a knee slightly exhausted.

"See told you. The rifle is the way to go." The droid said teasing. She lifted her barrel up and made to kiss it. "Muahh. Mommy loves you. Daddy just doesn't realize how great you are. He just loves playing with his stick."

"Pftt," Alex just laughed as he recovered. A trooper ran up handing him a datapad.

"Sir, this is what you wanted correct?" The trooper asked. Seeing Alex nod he left.

Going over the information quickly, Alex smiled. Tucking away the datapad he looked across the battlefield. 'Damn I should have taken a rifle earlier. Oh, wait a minute.' Alex was chiding himself a little till he saw a rifle not too far from him. The trooper had extra. Walking over Alex let the trooper know he was tacking it. Grabbing an extra magazine charge he walked and set right back next to the droid. Two shots went off from Alex's rightful. The closer beast maneuvered out of the way fast there he could react. 'Tch, they are to close. Should have spent more time at the range back home.'

"Oh, hopeless one here use this." The droid handed a scope with an affixed lens on top. Alex stared as he noticed it was from her left eye socket. "Just take it. I still will hit more than you." The droid dropped it on his lap before turning to fire again.

'Damn, wish I had that force ability Han had with the different trajectories and whatnot. Oh, well.' Aligning the sight and getting ready Alex fired at the first one he could see. 'Then again can't have every ability.'

"Pew, pew, pew," blaster fires rang out across the battlefield. Way less than earlier. But that was understandable considering how tired everyone was.

"I want more rockets. I know you hear me." The droid said. Looking at the rifle in hand she became a little antsy. Scanning the area she moved to the side and stretched her hand grabbing a sniper rifle off a rack. The trooper close to it was no longer using it. Besides he would be dead soon anyway. "I will definitely kill more than you dood!" The droid said with what could be described as a little glee in its voice like a child. Sniper in its hand needed to be recalibrated to suit its needs. But no time for that really. Her little squeal pulled Alex's attention.

Alex could only guess where she got it from. Looking back he continued his firing. Hopefully, no pissed off trooper will give him an earful later."Pew," a slight pause then again "pew." The droid took its targets out by firing directly at the little opening it could see. Patience wittled the enemy forces down consecutively.

"You would think so." Alex zoomed in on another that made around the way towards another trooper group. "Pew, pew, pew, pew, pew," the rifle may not pack as much of a wallop against these Armored creatures but it would do its job. Eventually, the battle became quiet. Then a great thudding sound could be heard. As the walls finally started to give way, it was time to switch up tactics.

The droid stood up straight and looked at Alex. "See told you, I am a better shot than you." Reaching over the droid separated the second barrel and attached it to its other arm. The barrel locked in place and started venting. In a second it switched up gathering energy. "Charged at 3% on the second weapon. Now, what do we do oh sloppy one? I am almost out of ammo, so are those troopers. Its been what 30 minutes since we started."

"Your single barrel can work as a mid range rifle. You will provide cover for me when they break through." Alex stared at the first weak point he believed would give next. The troopers had already recovered enough and gotten ready. One of the Rakghoul's stuck its hand through lifting the rubble into the air. Watching the beast make work of the rubble Alex started to descend to the others. The droid watched as he moved away.

She pointed her rifle right at him. "Bang just like that. Right in the butt." Turning back she started running her program to a mid-range sniper mode. "Ugh, soon as we get to civilization he's gonna buy me a new chassis and some pretty guns and some missile. Real good ones!" The droid quipped about while building a shopping list. A trooper nearby overhead and couldn't decide if he was dreaming or not.

Alex walked about to the battlefield. Slinging the rifle behind him he gripped his Vibrosword and got ready. Master Myr moved towards Alex lightsaber at the ready. Her eyes rested on him. Her thoughts ignored the battlefield. She wanted to talk more with the Padawan before her. Even more so, she wanted to talk with the one who trained him. Before she could ask him anything Kirell and Master Soruda walked over. Kirell had recovered good enough. Master Soruda was more than ready to go.

"So you guys ready to keep them occupied?" Alex said as he watched the wall get opened up more and more. The Rakghoul didn't make it to where they stood yet. The troopers kept them from getting too far either.

"So a battle of attrition? I didn't think I would die down here." Master Soruda spoke of finality. He was calm and composed. Very much of accepting of what the situation was. Looking at the padawan who freed himself from that evil device he was willing to fight till his body no longer move. His apprentice, however. He wished for him to live. There was so much left for him to learn. Twirling his lightsaber he remembered his own youth.

"Nah, we won't die here. We got this." Alex said flatly. His eyes were closed as he sent his senses out. He could feel something approaching from the location the creatures came from. Something familiar. "We just need to hold the line. Keep the troops alive. Buy more time for the civilians who already escaped. Then go find those other Jedi. Easy as pie."

"Alex I don't like the pie you eat," Kirell said with a lopsided grin. Imitating his master he twirled his lightsaber as well. "But if Master, Myr, and Soruda are fighting then I am in." Looking at Master Myr he felt strong confidence from her. "What say you Master Myr?"

"We will have to. I also wish to find out what our brethren are up to. Call it a hunch but something needs to be done about them." Removing her outer robes Master Myr flexed her muscles and took a deep breath. The light energy finally left her eyes. She harnessed it, stored inside ready to burst with every strike for the task at hand. she took the form of Vaapad once again. This time her incomplete formed had a more gentle movement to it. Something she couldn't wait to show Windhu.

"Heh, Master Myr that sounds like a plan. But dont any of you say something like "for the Republic" when we charge in." Alex placed the blaster pistol in his left hand. He increased the charge for it to put out a higher output but lesser fires. His vibrosword felt strong in his hand.

"Eh. But do we not fight for the Republic?" Kirell asked in wonder.

"You do. I am on the side of the force. By proxy the people. You have all forgotten that with your blind servitude to the Republic. But you will figure it out yourself or die I guess." Seeing a piece of debris come flying toward them Alex pushed it into the air with a flick of his hand. "But then again..." Letting his words hang in the air, Alex launched forward into the direction of three Rakghouls who finally made it through.

The three Jedi just looked at one another for a moment. The two Master somewhat knew what he talked about. But the recently promoted Knight did not. He was too young and had not spent enough time in the archives. Master Myr looked at him for a moment and remembered a time when a young Mace Windhu had a problem much the same as this. Her hand tightened on her lightsaber.

"We will stop these creatures. I swear on my life!" Master Myr moved in flinging rubble about causing the beast to avoid them in a hurry. Every few seconds, blaster fire would ring out when a beast circumvented the rubble.

"Come Kirell, we will attack in tandem stay close. Clear your thoughts. Focus only on the battle." Master and apprentice moved in.

As a Rakghoul tried to get the drop on Alex, a blaster bolt would offset it. The droid focused on minimizing the ones that went after troopers and the ones near Alex. Support wise the droid excelled. Alex was very happy he used the blueprint earlier. Just wished there were more parts to use in its creation.

With an upward slash, a Rakghoul was sent a step back. A small opening was visible in its shoulder. To shallow. That armor is to thick. But there is no other opening at the time. Without deadlier move set or weapons, Alex is in for a dangerous fight. "Pew," he fires a blaster round at the opening. With an idea now formed in his head, he ripped the arm using a strong force pull.

"Arrrggh," the Rakghoul growled in pain. Its howl was short-lived, as Alex used it's own clawed hand to stab the creature in the mouth. "Thump," with a slight thump it fell to the ground twitching. Seeing its brethren injured the one on Master Myr lashed at her. With a parry, she carved a scar across its arm but had to dodge to the side to get away from the claw of its backhand.

"Alex, look out!" Master Myr yelled. Before she could pursue she had to help against the next wave that came through. Five more Rakghoul made it through next. With a charged assault she heads in to meet the five on her own. releasing the stored force energy each strike tore right through the armor. 'I hope they can survive until I can get back.'

Alex heard master Myr. Keeping his back to the charging beast, he was waiting till it was close. As he continued to fire his blaster pistol at the one Kirell was contending against. He counted slowly in his mind. His Master had taken a mean gash to his left arm. While he danced around the creature he was slowly mending his arm.

'Now!" Alex thought as he backflipped landing on the creatures head. Stabbing his vibrosword into its eye he turned and wiggled it around. "Graaah," the Rakghoul screamed in pain. Unknown to Alex it had called for help. Moving the blade inside its head Alex removed with a shard twist exiting the side of its face. Placing the blaster next to the open socket he fired. "Pew, pew," the blaster bolts tore into the brain cavity killing the creature instantly. Before it could fall, Alex already jumped to the five on Master Myr.

Landing two feet behind her, Master Myr looked at him and blinked. With a thrust, she stabbed into the rakghoul that tried to retreat killing it with one strike. The remaining four circled around. Alex took a deep breath and release the hold of energy he kept at bay. The force bond activated linking there moves with one another. Adopting the lightsaber form he gained earlier, each moved started to compliment the another. As Master Myr stabbed a Rakghoul in the leg, another came up to strike her side. She would step out of the way and Alex would stab at the exposed area before the beast would retreat. When he stabbed, another Rakghoul would pounce at his back.

Master Soruda and Kirell charged in from the rear taking some of the pressure of the two. Blaster fire finally stopped. It was either due to fatigue or due to ammo completely spent. With the other two taking them on, the pressure was more bearable. Master Myr caught a Rakghoul across the mouth with her lightsaber. Alex rushed in too quickly from his inexperience. He stabbed the vibroblade into the mouth of the creature through its brain. The blade was stuck. Knowing it would be stupid to let it go amongest the horde he held on. "Pew, he fired at a new Rakghoul that appeared. For everyone, they down two more would take its place.

Landing with the one with his blade stuck in, Alex pulled harder. A new Rakghoul stabbed him in the chest. "Schlip," the claws went right through him. Keeping his grip on the vibroblade helped as the added help freed it. The Rakghoul lifted him into the air. Now airborne several of the troopers saw his bloody body flying up.

"Alex!" Kirell yelled. He couldn't step in. Not with a Rakghoul now breathing down his neck.

"Fuckin hell that hurt. At least I have my sword back." Turning in the air Alex used the force to help him spin. As he came down right above a Rakghoul's head a blaster round went off. "Pew," it hit right against his vibroblade mid spin increasing his rotation. The shot came from his droid.

With a " ting, tint, ting," echoing in the battle area Alex cut the bodies of several Rakghoul's. With a poised land on just his left foot, he placed his right behind him slowly. Master Myr stepped behind him. "So are you ready to dance Master Myr?" Looking at her nod yes. The two moved togethor more effectively now. Instead of just relying on the bond to help them fight better, Alex put himself in danger to help Master Myr fight better. When moved about in her spirit before the battle he picked up that she fights better when someone is in danger. The problem with that it is a subconscious thing. It is not something she is aware of. The two engage the enemy with a new ferocity.

"Pew," a blaster bolt would hit it in the back of the head causing it to stumble. Master Myr would push a Rakghoul back and strike the leg of the one that was shot. For the next five minutes, the two gave it there all. Seeing Master Myr finally slowing down in over usage of her new abilities, Alex made a decision.

"Master Myr step back to the rear. I am going to try something." Alex tried to give her the most reassuring smile. "It will be fine."
