14 But sunlight.

"How is everyone?"

A few grunts and grumbles let him know they would live. Turning he checked on Inferna. Dents and fissures aligned her armor. The flamethrower had been completely ripped off in the fight.

"Dont worry we will get you some new parts and all fixed up."

"As long as you are doing the fixing that is all that matters." She said lowly. "I do not trust anyone with my hardware."

"I do not know the first thing about hard level droid repairs. At the utmost, I can attach a few things."

"Do not worry I will teach you," Inferna said with no room for argument. "You should rest. I can read your vitals. You are passed your limits and then some. I am glad he escaped."

"How can you say that?!" Alex asked a little angry. Inferna did not deserve this.

"Easy. If he would have stayed you would have died. Then everyone else would have. I would have self-destructed. Killing him and everyone in this damn temple."

"Yeah.. how about you dont do that."

"Then get stronger. And get me better parts."

After she said that her body switched to standard operating mode. Several parts could still be seen damaged. But at least this way she could move about with no issues.

Sitting down on the floor Alex took a deep breath. The exhaustion hit his body all at once. A message for quests popped up in his visual. To tired to look, he layed on the floor and went to sleep.

The Rakghoul shimmied in force energy and the flesh receded around them. Returning to normal people, they stared at Alex before talking to the troopers. They wanted to know what happened in the last few years.

"It is a long story. Bear with me." The Republic commander said.

The returned people were outraged, to say the least. Wanting to at least get some type of explanation they looked from Alex seeing his current state. Seeing he was out cold they went towards Master Myr. Before they could start questioning her the side of the wall blew open. In came several elite troopers with Jedi Masters in tow.

Master Yoda scanned around the room in wonder his face scrunched in disapproval of the "Sith" remnants.

A few hours later Alex awakened. Before he could check the prompts, he overheard the others talking.

"What do you mean we are staying here?" Alex asked incredulously. "No, no no no." His head kept shaking. "I refuse. I want daylight. This place has been absolutely horrible. For Pete's sake, the locals dont want to stay here either."

"But Alex," Kirell said walking over. "Think of all the good we could do down here. With your ability, we can help clean the place up faster. Think of all the lives that can be saved."

"Yeah, no. I have been stabbed, impaled, slashed, burned and shot since coming down here. I wanna go. I think I have done enough down here already. A lot of the people made it out in this area alone. That has to count for something."

"Alex," Master XoXann said softly as she approached. "Whack," her hand went across his face smacking a little spit out of his mouth. "We are staying to help. Is that understood? No amount of whining will change that."

Walking forward Alex stripped right in front of XoXann. "I understand. However next time you do that, be prepared for a problem... my Master. Next time I won't stop her from shooting you." Alex said coldly with anger in his voice. Walking pass her, he moved to pick up a rifle as well as a bag with medical supplies. "You hear them? We need to move out and clean this under city up. Gods fucking forbid, the Republic get off their asses and do it."

The troopers followed behind quietly. Inferna walked backward never taking XoXann from her targeting sights. The returned Rakghoul people picked up weapons and followed after Alex.

The next few days were spent clearing out the rest of the surroundings of the temple. After Alex sent a dropship cascading into a building to destroy a gang that set up down in the area, the council realized it was time to send him back topside.

{Back with Xander}

Xander walked on the outskirts of the temple. Slowly and cautiously he moved not alerting anyone. Pausing at the side of a building he waited for a few minutes. Turning around he thought he dealt something. Turning around he saw nothing. Turning back forward he paused. He was face to face with someone. His guard relaxed when he saw who it was.

"Mater Naes how are you?" Xander said kneeling.

"Get up! I told you do not do that. It is dangerous for you." Naes said a little angrily. "Besides we are allies, not Master and servant."

"My apologies." Standing up Xander watched in silence.

"Do you know why I am angry?! Dont worry I will tell you." Butting his on his lightsaber in his sleeve, he flipped around. "I told you not to touch Alex. Yet you almost killed him. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"He jumped in the way. There was nothing I could do about it. I even retreated to give him a chance to be healed."

"For all our sakes you better hope he survives." Calming down Naes relaxed in a split second. His entire demeanor changing. "I will not allow anyone to kill him. He is to important and the key to this."

"What do you want me to do now? I have most likely had my identity exposed. I cannot stay here."

"Now.. now we build." Stepping forward Naes handed Xander a credit chit as well as a datapad. "Head here. Start our Order. Darth Sidious has recovered enough to be a threat. We cannot take him and his forces. If Christian would not have risked his members against that monster we would have had a chance now."

Looking over the information Xander wanted to ask why there. "Master... gone already. I hate it when he does that. Why Hutt space of all things!" Making haste Xander fled the area. It was a long jump to where he needed to be.

The council spoke with XoXann about allowing Alex to officially join the Order. Alex time spent down below he was under surveillance by the Republic. Trying to figure if he was a danger. Enough reports cleared him of any wrongdoing given the situation.

"The answer is no. It does not suit him at all. In case you have failed to realize, he will do what he thinks is best. My words are just suggestions. His only true guide is the force itself." Master XoXann said poised in her seat.

"With his ability to summon people from the force, it could do wonders for what is happening."

"That is not something he can control. It just happened. All those who walked through were infected by the Rakghoul and dark side energy. For all we know, he was just a bridge to help them."

"What if something else tries to come through. Something worst. Then what? I say we keep him sequestered inside the temple till we figure it out." Another Master spoke out.

"You can try. I will not help you in that endeavor." Standing up XoXann walked to the exit. "If you do try it, just remember you will start a war. You didn't listen to Qui-Gon Jinn either. When he told you he came across the Sith you dismissed. It was stupid. Keeping him locked away.. will not bode well.

"To turn him towards the Dark Side this will." Master Yoda said coming into the chambers. Taking a seat, he observed the Council members. "He is not part of the Order. Let him go we must."

"His abilities are dangerous!" Another Master said voicing their opinion strongly. "Observation and testing it the best of course."

"My allies will not take kindly to that. I can assure you." XoXann spoke coldly. "Before you try to do that, how about you clean your temple up. So many traitorous people popping up as of late. Yet nothing has been done. If anyone on the outside new what has been happening really.. I wonder if they would continue to trust the Jedi Order? I know I wouldn't." Walking about she returned to the younglings in training.

"What can one Master do?" Looking around the Jedi Master spoke again. "He is dangerous. I say we keep him here. Surely he can help stabilize the uncertain energies in the temple."

"This would help the Republic more." Master Windhu said calmly. "But I agree with not keeping him locked away. IT will not bode well at all."

"I disagree. The notion as of late is that the Order cannot live without the Republic. I think it is the other way around." Master Myr said, "countless times we have stepped forward to fix the problems of multiple worlds. The Republic needs us. We will still exist if the Republic falls. The force will find a way. That I am sure."

"But.." Master Soruda started to say hesitantly. "Ahh, it must be said. Master Luminara Unduli... he has the ability to create force bonds. Some are strong while others fade over time. I can attest to that myself." He said towards the female Mirialan.

"What did you say?" Mater Luminara asked intrigued. As one of the few people with a personal interest in said subject, it now had her full attention. "Please elaborate further."

"That can be discussed later." Master Ploo Koon said from the holo projection. "My time is running short I am afraid."

"How many of those people came out of the gateway?" Another Master asked.

"During the clean up at the end.... 23 additional. A lot of them have gone to medical facilities around the planet." The Council padawan attendant said. Reading for her datapad she kept an accurate recording of everything said today.

"Is something else wrong?" Master Ploo Koon asked.

"They all seem healthy as can be. But Alex suggested it." Master Soruda said.

"Why?"

"The need for a better medical evaluation. Also full psychiatric workups."

"Oh, worried about their mental state is he?" Master Yoda spoke for the first time in a while. "Is there something amiss I wonder?"

"He said it was better safe than sorry. Alex spoke that not just emotions tend to cause someone to act on darker actions. Sometimes the mental stress can do it as well. The people affected have that in spades.

"If anything traveling down in the lower levels has taught me, is the Republic is not perfect. As well as the Order. We need to change the way we do things. The amount of force-sensitive people down below was staggering. So many potential Jedi. So many lost." Master Soruda said before relaxing back in his seat.

"What are you suggesting then?"

"I do not know. Give me time."

"We can recruit more. Even the people who cannot use the force, as well as Jedi, can learn more to help in the future." Master Myr said. "A small branch office on planets. People can understand how we do things. A possible visit to their families to improve their desire to keep the peace for the ones who make it to Knighthood. I believe it will help steel their resolve."

"Chish," the door opened drawing the attention of a few members. Naes walked in. His padawan waited outside. Walking over he passed a datapad to Master Yoda who scanned it quickly and passed it to Master Windhu.

"Table this for now. We have other concerns that warrant our immediate attention. Master Naes had delivered several pieces of evidence on the Separatist and their actions. We must intervene."

The council then went into discussions about the new agenda. As for Alex, it was decided that Master Windhu will decide the course of action for him.
