Chapter two:
Smiling, Travis appreciated Daisy Ridley's sentiments. Prior Service men and women may not get treated as badly as they used to after Vietnam, but in a city like Hollywood it's a bit rarer to find someone who is grateful for the sacrifices that people like Travis have made in service to the country. So, Daisy Ridley saying that meant a lot.
The odd duo made small talk for a while. Soon it was almost time for Travis's turn in line. However, before he could go up to his idol he got stopped by Daisy Ridley.
Wait a bit, been meaning to ask you. What's so important about that Star War's comic you have? You seem to treasure it. But from what we've been talking about it doesn't seem like you practically care for Star War's the Rise of Skywalker that much. Daisy Ridley asked, looking at the comic held carefully in Travis's hand.
Oh, this? Travis brings up the 72nd issue up. Yeah, I don't care much about Star War's the Rise of Skywalker. Rey Skywalker, Finn, and Chewbacca are one thing, but Emperor Palpatine... I don't like, and those movies are cringe and not worth watching. This one is special though. Replied Travis.
Oh? Daisy Ridley quirks up an eyebrow. And why's that? She asked him.
Travis gets an excited look on his face. Because this is one of the few times we meet Rey Skywalker. As the hero of the entire galaxy you don't hear about her much and the focus is more on Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. I figured there must be more to her, so I wanted to ask George Lucas about her while asking him to sign the page where Rey kills Emperor Palpatine. I know this incarnation of the character is more an homage to Daisy Ridley, but it still seems appropriate, but know? Replied Travis.
Daisy Ridley frowns a bit. What more to the character do you need? She's a scavenger girl from Jakku, and the hero of the galaxy. It's kind of hard to really put a finger on that sort of being don't you think? Even worse to try and have a story surrounding him, or her. Said Daisy Ridley.
Well, uh, it's just there isn't a character in the Star War's universe that doesn't have a story and I wish I could experience her's. Heck, a being like that inside the Star War's universe? I wish I could be Rey's apprentice. Travis looks back at the line. Ah, sorry Daisy, I need to go, it's my turn! Replied Travis.
As Travis scampers off giddily, Daisy Ridley laughs at her young friends antic's. Indeed, it just might be.
At this her eyes seem to glow for a split second before being replaced by her normal look. After a few minutes, she walks towards Travis, who's standing in front of Daisy Ridley's best friend and colleague.
Daisy places her hand on Travis's shoulder as he gets his Star War's comic back from George Lucas, and before she can ask her question George Lucas say's, this one?
Travis looks at her new customed friend curiosity. Does Daisy know George Lucas?
George Lucas looks up surprised. He takes his trademark aviator sunglasses off and points them at Travis. You sure Daisy? Asked George Lucas. Daisy Ridley nod's and George Lucas shrugs. Alright, but you have to explain it to him. George Lucas takes out a pencil from his pocket, a worn out, dirty, chewed up pencil. He then reaches under the table and brings up a blank sheet of paper. As he places it on the table, the whole convention center seems to quiet as if someone is turning the volume dial down on a stereo. Once the paper hits the table, it's eerily silent. Travis starts to panic a bit. Just what is going on!? The only thing Travis can hear is his, Daisy's, and George Lucas's breathing. As the elderly celebrity drops his old pencil down onto the page, and a word escapes his lips.
May the Force be with you.
Travis's consciousness fades to black as his body turns into motes of light until it disappears entirely.
Thanks George Lucas, as always, Daisy Ridley says as she walks away and fades into nothingness.
See you in a few Daisy. Said George Lucas, and life returns to the convention hall.
