1 The Discovery

The year is 2062 and Earth is gone, destroyed by a rogue asteroid which cracked the earth in two. Luckily it was identified in time for the various nations of the world to put aside their differences and work together to build the arks enormous ship to take as many people as possible from the earth using an experimental propulsion system called the Omega Drive which creates a temporary wormhole to fling the vessel faster that lightspeed.

The good news is that the Omega Drive worked and got the Arks away from earth on time the bad news is we don't have any idea where we are at all so we have to search for safe planets the old fashioned way and look around us.

My name is private first-class Adrian Nygaard of the United Nations Colonial Marines or U.N.C.M and me and my squad have been pulled out of suspended animation early by our ships collision alarm that blares "warning collision imminent emergency evasive maneuvers initiated" right before the ship lurches and I fall down out of my cryo-pod.

After getting to me feet I see Sgt Geneva Coleman my bunk-mate getting her gear together which makes me ask "hey sarge what's going on?"

"Oh hey Adrian apparently the ship detected some kind of dead spaceship right near us putting out some kind of signal so we're going to investigate so get your EVA gear".

"Ok sarge" I say as I put on my EVA suit and grab my weapons an HK416 with acog sight and suppressor with foregrip laser sight and my mk23 SOCOM with laser and suppressor along with all my ammo and two flashbangs and two frag grenades along with my nano-ceramic Bowie knife.

After getting tooled up I see sarge grab her gear a Franchi SPAS-12 with a red-dot sight and a 45 caliber glock with a compensator and a red-dot sight along with a combat tomahawk made of tungsten steel.

After we tool up we meet up with the rest of the squad and wait for the umbilical to attach I see Professor Anita Fitzgerald walk up to us in a red EVA suit carrying an m9 Beretta in a thigh holster and a mpk5 with a red-dot sight and a ka-bar knife along with a big backpack of scientific gear which she carries with no effort or complaint.

"Hello professor wha---"

"Please fellas call me either Anita or if you like call me Fitz ok"

"Whatever floats your boat Anita just stay near me and Sgt Coleman so we can keep you safe ok"

"You don't have to worry about me mate I started my career as a medic in the Royal Marines but I got ya your just doin ya job"

"That's good Anita now let's get going boys"

Right after saying that the green light on the umbilical beeps telling me it's pressurized so we make our way to the hatch of the alien spacecraft and of course the hatch is sealed.

"Hey Sarge time to do your thing" the captain says

"Yay sploshin time" Geneva says with genuine delight.

After saying that Geneva puts a couple of thermite charges on the door which she detonates with a ten second chemical fuse.

After the charges go off with a thump and a loud fizzle the hatch falls open with a loud clang the captain says" split up and look for anything that looks useful now MOVE OUT!"

As he says that me, Geneva,Anita make our way to the right of the entrance and walk straight down the hallway till we come to a open door leading to a small room only containing what looks like a retinal scanner and a handprint scanner that are interconnected.

"Anita what do you think that thing is "?

"Looks like some kinda scanner but to what I have no idea why don't you use it to see what happens" she says while shrugging.

"Ok if you say so Anita" I say as I put my hand in it's scanner and my eye up to the other and immediately hear a robotic voice say " User acknowledged imprinting now. User imprinted downloading Sci-fi system now."

After the voice finishes speaking I see what looks like an item shop from an old video game that announces in the same robotic voice[welcome to the Sci-fi system your one stop shop for all sci-fi items. Attention! You have one free item back available would you like to open it y/n.] I choose yes and a flash goes through my brain and I see a list that says congratulations you have won:

Immediately after hearing and seeing this I hear automatic gunfire and pass out.
