Dom is listing off all the conditions he has thought of regarding Vanessa's presence here, and with each one my irritation is growing. How the hell am I going to keep him calm and pacified through this whole process? Why did the two of them have to be mates when we are in the middle of such a delicate situation?

"Dominik," Vanessa says, approaching him and taking his arm. Instantly, his features that were twisted in anger relax. It's like magic. Thank God. 

"Everything is going to be okay," I tell them, feeling the surety of that statement despite not knowing every single detail along the way like Dom would like.
