2 CHAPTER 002

The building has 3 floors with the floor I'm currently on being the 2 floor. Below this floor, the first floor, is the kindergarten - 1st grade floor with the third floor being for grades 2nd - 5th grade. The second floor is for 6th - 8th.

I took a right and walked through the hallway passing by the 6th - 8th grade classes and walked up the stairs at the end of it and reached the 3rd floor.

'Why the hell are there so many stairs? My legs already feel tired.'

I let out a tired sigh and walked to my classroom in the middle of the hallway on the right.

"Hi Nathan."

My teacher Ms. Hernandez, if I remember correctly, said from the stack of papers she had her head buried in.

"Hi Ms. Hernandez."

I said instinctively in my 'usual' blank tone. It seems that some of the habits from before I was unsealed are still there. With that I grabbed my breakfast from the box near her desk, went to my seat in the far right of the classroom and ate.

It didn't take long for the room to be filled with kids coming off the bus or being dropped off by their parents. I'd finished the pancakes we were given for breakfast and threw it away in the trash can near the classroom door. When I sat back down the number of kids entering the classroom finally started dwindling when Ms. Hernandez did her usual morning greeting.

"All right kids! it's 8:30 which means it's class time so it's time to be quiet and pay attention."

After she said that, I zoned out and tried to use my Tech Tree. I tried saying things like system, status, and just saying tech tree but nothing happened. I was brought out of my thinking when an adult hand placed a piece of paper on my desk.

"Nathan, I know this is easy for you, but you have to at least look like you're paying attention."

With that she walked back to her desk and got started on the now smaller stack of papers on her desk. It was only now that I noticed that it was quiet and looking around it seemed that the other kids were working on the same worksheet, she gave me.

Looking down at the paper, I noticed that it was only simple math. Things like 5*2 and 7*5. Taking a pencil out of my backpack, I set it on the floor when I sat down, I wrote my name down and finished it within a few minutes. From my memories she'll tell us to stop within a few minutes and have us pass it to the person in front of us till it reaches the last person and she'll grab it from there.

I again tried to use the Tech Tree even resorting to saying things like abracadabra, Hocus Pocus, and Alakazam but none of them worked. I was already falling back into my old habit of rubbing my thumb on the middle of my index finger when I heard Ms. Hernandez tell us time was up.

"Time's up, pass your quiz to the person in front of you or else you won't get a grade for it."

I let out an annoyed sigh and passed the paper to the kid in front of me and continued rubbing my thumb against the middle of my index finger.

'How am I supposed to use it?'

That was the only thought running through my head, but I stopped thinking about it when I heard Ms. Hernandez ask a question.

"Is that all the quizzes?"

She looked around for a while, likely waiting just in case she was missing any.

"Okay…"

She was interrupted by the ringing of the bell.

"Just on time, it's time for science, we'll be learning about the Solar System."

'Wait a damn minute, what time is it. . . 9:20? I was zoned out for an entire 50 minutes. I really gotta stop.'

I let out another annoyed sigh at the thought of what I'd just done.

'Since I have nothing else to do, I might as well pay attention.'

Pay attention I did and learn something I did not. She only talked about planets, what their names were, and where they are in the Solar System. As you can tell, it was painfully boring. Luckily she didn't give us a quiz for this like she did for math. Though based on my memory she usually teaches us one day and gives us a quiz on it the next day. So she's likely going to give us one tomorrow.

My thoughts were interrupted when the 10:10 AM bell rang. When it stopped Ms. Hernandez again did her introduction of telling us what subject it was time for.

"All right, kids time for reading class, we'll be taking a quiz for it today so be prepared."

I could already hear several kids groan in obvious annoyance. Though Ms. Hernandez only chuckled at that.

'I feel like she takes pleasure in their suffering.'

That made me chuckle a little bit, but the boredom caused by her teaching quickly took that away. I used that time to keep trying to use the Tech Tree, again using those 3 magic words I did earlier. I even used spells from Harry Potter. Those being Wingardium Leviosa, Expecto Patronum, and Achio . . . Accio? I honestly don't even know if that's correct but I didn't care.

I snapped out of my thoughts when the person in front of me placed my quiz on my desk. It was again easy. Just asking us to read a paragraph and answer the question below about it.

I finished it in a few minutes and stared at the sky through the classroom window. I didn't know if the ROB had messed up my wish but if he didn't then I'd be up there soon. Maybe not now but hopefully sometime in the future. Just the thought of sailing the stars brought a wide smile to my face.

I was brought out of my reverie when I heard Ms. Hernandez's voice.

"Time's up, hand your quizzes to the person in front of you."

I gave my quiz to the kid in front of me and continued staring into the sky and daydreaming when Ms. Hernandez asked if that was all. After no one replied she brought the papers and set it on top of the now bigger stack of papers on her desk. Then the 11:00 AM bell rang.

"Alright kids, last class till lunch, since I quizzed you yesterday then there won't be one today but do remember that we'll be reviewing what I taught you today, tomorrow as a refresher for those who might struggle with the quiz."

Just like that, Social Studies started and just like all the times before, I was slowly being strangled by boredom. About 20 minutes of pure boredom, I zoned out and started planning.

Twitter was created around 2007 and since it's 2003 I have around 4 years, give or take, to create it. If that doesn't work out, I can fall back on discord since it was created in 2015. Sadly though, pessimism reared its ugly head into my thoughts.

'What if it doesn't work?'

I don't know why I didn't think of it till now but there is always the possibility that the ROB decided to reincarnate me without it just for shits and giggles. Just the thought alone managed to trigger my nervous habit of rubbing my thumb against my index finger.

". . .han"

"Na. . ."

"NATHAN!"

I was jolted out of my thoughts with the loud voice of Ms. Hernandez.

"Nathan, are you ok?"

"Um. . Yeah, I was just thinking about something."

She didn't seem to believe me.

"Ok, then go and get your lunch, the others have already left."

Looking around, the other kids did indeed leave already.

"Okay, thanks."

With that, I got up and left the classroom. Since the lunchroom is on the 1st floor, I walked down the unnecessarily long stairs and walked to the lunchroom. After walking past the kindergarten - 1st grade classes and groups of other kids leaving with their lunch to their classroom I finally reached it. Once there, I got in line and waited for my turn.

A few minutes later and it was. I grabbed my milk and my tray with hotdogs in it and walked up the annoyingly long stairs and reached my classroom to see the entire class already seated and eating. I walked to my seat and ate my lunch. Around 15 minutes

Later the entire class finished eating. It was only 2 hotdogs, so it wasn't that long.

"Alright class, time for recess, and remember to be careful."

Ms. Hernandez said as she led us down the stairs to the first floor where the door leading to the park was. Once outside the kids bolted for the playground but I was honestly out of my comfort zone, so I just walked there and sat on one of the concrete slabs that outlined the entire playground.

From my memories it seems like the 'sealed' me did the same thing. With nothing to do I stared into the seemingly infinite blue sky and smiled. Someday I'd be up there, hopefully at least and did that for the entire 30 minutes we were out there.

I was brought out of my reverie when Ms. Hernandez said something.

"Alright kids, it's 12:45 time to go in and pack up."

Some of the kids wanted to stay and hang out with their friends but we all ultimately left. Luckily though, or unluckily, since the Appellaxian invasion classes were only for half the day for the rest of the year and all schools were ending the school year early, specifically at the end of March. Today is Monday, March 31(fixed). School ends on Wednesday, April 2nd. Reaching the classroom, I grabbed my backpack and left, spending the 15-minute walk home thinking about what to do if my Tech Tree did indeed work with some stray thoughts about what I'd have to do to stay alive if the ROB didn't give me it.

Once at the orphanage I walked in, took my shoes and socks off, put my shoes on the shoe rack and socks in the sock bin right next to it.

'Looks like I'm the first one here."

I said as I walked up the stairs, past the other rooms, and walked into mine. I put my backpack under my bed and laid there in my bed.

'First school day in my new life.'

I laid there staring at the ceiling as kids walked into the room to put their backpack under their bed. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I heard the matron call us to do our chores. I was confused until the memory of her doing that before popped up in my head. She has us clean the place every other day to teach us 'responsibility' and . . . I honestly don't know what to add to it. I'll just stick with 'responsibility'.

Shaking my head, I walked out the room after the other kids and saw others walking out the other 3 rooms. In this orphanage there are 5 rooms on the top floor. 2 rooms on both sides of the hallways and the matron's room at the end of the hallway. Of the 4 rooms for us the boy's room is on the right of the hallway while the girls are on the left. There are also 5 bathrooms all having a toilet, shower, and sink. Like the rooms, 2 are for the boys, 2 are for the girls, and the last one is for the matron. In total there are 14 boys and 9 girls. My room is the first one on the right.

Continuing on what I was doing, I walked out of my room and down the stairs to see cleaning supplies. I grabbed the table cleaning supplies and got to work. Since I got the best grades out of everyone that was all I had to do whereas if you got bad grades then you'd have more chores. The matron's way of encouraging us to get good grades.

It took me around 30 minutes to finish cleaning all 3 large tables and another 45-49 minutes to clean all the chairs. I know I said that since I have the best grades then I don't have to do much but for whatever reason other kids have theirs easier than me. Though that might be because they have people helping them while I don't, or it might just be her way of saying that I shouldn't get prideful even if I get the best grades.

After finishing I walked around the orphanage for 2 or so hours making sure I actually knew the place personally rather than just have a memory of it. It was around 3:40 PM when I started feeling tired, so I climbed up the stairs, into my room, and got into my bed and closed my eyes. Then something strange happened. I felt sand in my hand. Confused, I opened my eyes and sat up and saw a tree so large it was piercing the clouds.
