The Legendary Necromancer (1)

Another explosion swept through the building. This time, it was much stronger than the other two. At this point, everyone believes someone or something is definitely attacking.

Freya led the charge and immediately activated a large-scale barrier.

Everyone around the building's radius was covered in a huge yellow dome with patterns constantly spinning around it. With this, inside the dome, the shockwaves couldn't be felt anymore.

Hans covered his ears, dumbfounded by the fact that he almost killed all of those low-ranking Awakened. If not for Freya's timely reaction, there would be casualties for sure.

The explosion lasted for 10 seconds, sending uncontrollable tremors in the 5-mile radius. The ground quivered constantly as if the floor is above the water surface.

Shortly, the tremors stopped.

"Damn it, what is the USA doing!? Someone was attacking and there's still no information?"

"But who would dare to attack here? That's the question."

"I feel like we're not safe here anymore."

"You're not the only one who thinks that, my friend."

As the people began to converse, Hans silently appeared behind Freya. Urs glanced at him shortly before losing interest.

"Are you alright?"

"Fufufu~, I'm okay. Don't worry." She turned towards him and felt his body being inspected, "Seems like you're fine too."

"Yeah, just some light scrapes."

Freya grabbed him by the shoulders and suddenly, he was covered in green energy. The energy energized his body and gave him a slight stamina boost. It also contained healing properties though it wasn't needed as the small wounds was already healed by his regeneration.

Meanwhile, with the increasing pressure of attackers, many Awakened agreed to investigate the place themselves. There's no point in staying passive over something like this.

China's SS-Class, Gu Lian, led his team outside to secure the perimeter. Although these guys seemed unconcerned, they truly care about the injured.

Everyone began doing their own thing. Freya made a small exit around the barrier so people could pass by inside and out. Also, she made sure the barrier was reinforced as she was not sure if there would still be continuous bombardment.

"Do you want to come with me?"

Suddenly, Urs, who had been silent until now, offered. Hans heard and felt the word a little off so he turned towards Freya for confirmation.

"You should go with him. Much safer."

Hans nodded before he and Urs began to exit the barrier. The humid air tickled their skin as they bolted outside the demolished building.

"Do you know we're in another dimension?" Urs muttered, breaking the silence.

"Another… dimension?"

"Yeah, like inside the dungeons."

Hans' eyes widened.

'I see…'

So that was the reason why the space was distorted. Although he can't truly feel it, he can sense that the space was quite familiar to him.

"It would be impossible for an enemy to show up here. You see, it's hard entering here without the entry confirmation from the skill user."

"So you mean."

"Yup, some Awakened made that bomb."

Hearing the accuracy of Urs conclusion, Hans lightly flinched. His finger trembled slightly, but he still maintained his calm demeanor to avoid suspicions.

"Any guesses who it was?"

Urs abruptly stopped on his tracks causing him to halt as well. Urs stared at him before quickly  pulling out a golden gun from his pocket and aiming it towards his forehead.

"Yes, my guess is you, Hansel."

Feeling the barrel tickle his forehead, sweat oozes from his back. Despite this, Hans kept calm and collected. As for why? Although Urs already knew it was him, he didn't move or say anything and just kept his mouth silent.

But still, Hans wanted to confirm something first. Maybe it's just a psychological question— something like that.

"What are you talking about?"

Urs kept his poker face and glared at his eyes coldly.

"The soul behind you already told me everything."

Subconsciously, Hans cocked his head behind and saw no one.

'Soul?'

As in, the soul of the deceased?

"But why would you create an explosion that big. I can't understand."

It seems like Urs already knew everything from the start.

Does that mean he knows there's an enemy too?

Hans groaned. There's no use in hiding the truth anymore. His purpose is fulfilled; everyone was warned.

"I wanted to alert everyone of the impending disaster but just telling them won't do. Therefore, I did this, and it seems like it worked."

If it's those arrogant Awakened they might have already pulled the trigger.

Urs sighed in relief and put the gun back inside his inventory. He raised his hand and scratched the back of his head.

"I'm sorry about that."

"No, no, it's okay."

"So where's the place? Lead me there." Urs immediately asked for the location of where he last spotted the unknown enemy.

"It's there, just ab—"

Shu—

Shrummm—

At that moment.

As if the world was covered with blood, the skies turned red. The clouds parted, revealing a red portal whirling in above. Shortly, these red portals began to spread everywhere, dyeing the world in a red hue.

Urs and Hans glanced at each other and nodded in agreement.

......…

"What is that!?"

"Dungeon portals? Why is there a dungeon portal here?"

"20?"

"Can someone explain what's happening?"

Everyone's gazes darted towards the red skies and the portals. The scent of blood tickled their noses while they prepared each of their gears.

Ten SS-Class Awakened gathered at the center with grim expressions etched on their faces. One of them, Miguel Silva, voiced his thoughts.

"What do you guys think this is?"

Freya, who's already donned in a black elegant combat robe, answered, "Looks like a race decided to feast upon here." She focused her eyes on the largest portal and continued, "... and they reek the smell of blood."

"Vampires?"

"Vampires? These guys must be those demons."

"Eh? That's a good guess too but I'll go with the Asuras. Those guys were just blood maniacs."

Despite their tones being cheerful, the anxiety in their eyes couldn't be hidden. Cassia equipped her silver female gear and rested her hand on the hilt of her rapier. She walked forward and sent a casual slash towards the portals.

"Oh, made a move already?"

"HAHAHAHA, if 'he' was here, he might be already inside one of those. That 'guy' is just a madman."

"Well, you're right."

Everyone stared at the sword energy with anticipation but when it finally hit the portals, it disintegrated. Some have their eyebrows frowning while few have their eyes bugging out in surprise.

"Alas, it seems like our opponents wouldn't be easy."

"Hehehe, the more the merrier."

"Come to think of it, where's Urs?"

"Tch, who wants that creepy guy here?"

"Shhh~ lower your voice. You might just drop dead without knowing."

As these Awakened entertained themselves to reduce their anxieties, some of them weren't having fun at all.

"If after 5 minutes, no one is going to go out of that portal, I'm going in."

The unkillable beast, Miguel Silva, declared. He already put on his silver-trimmed battle suit and sun yellow gloves on each of his hands. On his head, he wore a viking helm with two tusks attached on its ears.

"I'm not going to risk my life for another country." Gu Lian immediately replied and continued, "But I wouldn't mind helping."

"Tch, Xiao Lian, you really know how to joke huh?"

"Don't call me Xiao Lian, you bastard!"

At the same time, red flames lit these gates on fire until someone finally stepped out of the portal. It was a humanoid monster with three horns protruding on its head. This monster seemed to be fresh out of battle based on the blood marks on its body and hands.

"The Three Horned Tribe?"

Three Horned Tribe wasn't truly a formidable monster but with its blood ability and razor-sharp nails, even S-Classes struggled to kill one in a short time.

But the surprise did not end there, the horned monster was followed by a different species. With its large body, it could be mistaken as a bodybuilder. The humanoid monster wore a black fur coat and on its bare upper body, lashes from what seemed to be whip were marked.

Just like the horned monster, this man was also fresh out of a battle. Without showing its true form, the Awakened present already recognized its race.

"The Werewolves."

They were a beast that could transform into a human once they reached adulthood. They were monsters of the jungle. Their brute strength is powerful and their speed is unmatched as well.

More monsters began pouring out of the portals. From vampires, asuras, dhampirs, and all other monsters associated with blood appeared.

"N-no way!"

From the tally alone, they could more or less count thousands of those, and the most terrible thing about this.

All of these monsters were as strong as S-Class. Well, some of them can't be said to be S-class monsters but with the addition of their racial skills, it's just the same.

"I thought we had a treaty!?"

"Tch, and you really believed that?"

"Ha, haha. How are we supposed to defend this?"

Every SS-Class Awakened wore their gears and battle suits. Fortunately, the place seemed to be in another dimension, or else, the USA would just be history by tomorrow.

"Come to think of it, why are these guys behaving like slaves?" SS-Class Senon Acosta spoke after observing these monsters one by one.

"Hmm… I noticed that too."

Usually, once a monster saw its advantage, it would strike no matter what. Awakened of the high caliber call this the beast instinct. Now, these ferocious monsters seem docile and have self-control which is strange.

At that moment, humanoid monsters donned in black coats appeared in each of every 20 dungeons present. These 20 monsters were quite similar in attire. On their hands, they each held a red orb with a complex pattern surrounding it.

Their aura radiates mana that seemed to top any S-classes present on the scene.

"I-Impossible!!! All of them are SS-Class at minimum!!!"

"Are we fighting these guys too?"

"Hahaha, this is getting ridiculous."

On the human side, all of the S-class Awakened lost their will to fight after seeing the overwhelming power the opponent has. The 10 SS-Class present held their foot tightly on the ground and did not show the slightest fear but even then, their expression couldn't be said to be good.

"Freya, can you call the others?" Gu Lian spoke in a hoarse voice.

"I already called Urs, he's on his way. However, my transmitter can't penetrate dimensions, so I can't contact the other 5 on Earth."

"Damn it, I already told them from the start that these kinds of gatherings are a bad idea!!"

"Shut up, Senon."

"Tch."

"We need Urs at least!! Where is he!!"

All of their eyes gathered to the largest portal awaiting the appearance of what they thought to be the boss.

Silence permeated around the vicinity as everyone held their breaths.

...….

Swish—

Swish—

Two blurry figures dashed through the forest. The bushes rustled in behind their paths as the wind brushed their faces. They were like two lions hunting for prey.

"Tsk, we've been running for 2 minutes and we can't even reach the other side." Hans grumbled.

"The space is constantly collapsing around here. It should be the portals' fault."

When they saw monsters begin to appear, for some reason the two began to have stars in their eyes.

For Hans, these guys will be the source of his new skills.

For Urs, these guys will be the next vessels for his new summons.

Once the SS-Class monsters appeared, Hans and Urs stopped on their tracks, flinging the dust to the air as their foot brakes into the ground.

Urs and Hans grimaced. Their dreams shattered the moment they saw the number of those ferocious monsters. Hans clenched his fists in frustration.

"How are we going to fight those? This is suicide."

"No, don't think about those things Hansel. Don't think about such negative things."

"How are you supposed to stop that?"

No matter what it looks like, the outcome has already been decided. Additionally, these monsters seemed to be waiting for someone. Hans thought about the boss monster.

If even these beasts feared him, how strong would that monster be?

Would it reach the strength of an SSS-Class? Or even above.

That's an existence, humans could only look up to!

As if sensing his dilemma, Urs patted his shoulder and muttered.

"Indeed, it is." With a wave of his hand, a spear appeared behind Urs' back. "But if you view power based on those 4 attributes, then you should change your mind."

He raised his head and muttered softly.

"I can feel your strength, but you are lacking in experience. Once you grew up, your power would probably top mine. Before that happens, you'll realize your weakness on the way and when you reach the top you won't have such trivial weaknesses anymore."

Hans attentively listened and after hearing his words, he gave a faint smile.

"Unfortunately, you're still weak to judge things. The Awakened of humanity isn't weak as you thought, you see. Don't put yourself above others just because you're special."

"I am not sp—"

"You are… I trust my instincts."

Hans bowed his head in shame. The words he never thought he would hear, pierced his very core. Now that his power can even surpass veteran A-Classes, Hans thought they were just that. S-class and SS-Class Awakened wouldn't hold a candle to him anymore.

This thought further strengthened once he received the 'The Balance' skill.

"Haha, but I like that thought too."

"Huh?"

"I said I like your thoughts. Putting yourself above others while being under. That's the spirit."

Although it was faint, Hans saw Urs smile. The man famous for his always serious and emotionless face displayed a bright smile.

"You said we would lose right?"

Hans did not answer.

"Well, you're not entirely wrong. Many would die." Suddenly, his suit began to change into a black scaled gear, "However, you are forgetting something."

"I am… a necromancer."

At that moment, as if the world responded to his call, the sky that should have been dyed in red, began to darken.

"...and death is my domain."
