It was early in the morning and Spuz was tempted to get something other than the kitty pet food that he ate each day. Spuz got out of his box specially made for him and walked off to go try to catch a bird. Hid mother always told him when he was little that Clan cats would hunt in forests for their food, like mice, birds, squirrels and even Rabbits. The snow was cold on his paws and he breathed in the scents of the forest full of prey. A bird trail caught his attention as he stalked a Blue Jay eating something from the ground, he went to jump for the bird, slowly stalking towards it. As Spuz jumped for the bird he stumbled and missed, the bird flew away into the grey-blue winter sky. Spuz quickly got up from the ground with snow covering him head to tail, he shook off the snow and noticed some blue on the ground. The Blue Jay left some Blue feathers on the ground when it flew away. The feathers could entertain the younger cats at the farm do he picked them up and started walking out of the forest. Spuz swore he felt he was being watched but didn't take much notice of it and quickly exited the forest.

The young cats, Orangey, Phoenix, and Cheeto really enjoyed the feathers I brought back. they were occupied until Boo, one of our She-cats, came back with a few minor injuries, one scratch on her nose, a cut on her ear and a scratch on her forepaw. "Boo! What Happened!?" Pumpkin, Boo's brother came running from across the barn and started licking her wounds. "Just some filthy forest cats that's all: Boo sounded frustrated but her voice quivered as she told us what happened. "I was out hunting in the forest". Once she mentioned the forest cats I wondered if that's what I felt looking at me in the forest. "How many were there?" Of course Phoenix, the most mature out of his litter, took the words right out of my mouth, he was so much like me. Boo took a while to answer, she looked started. "A whole group of them." Phoenix looked confused, "You mean like a group of 3 or 4?" Boo looked away from Phoenix while she was talking, to directly to me, "No, A whole clan."

That's when I knew that all the stories my mother told me about the Clan cats were true...
