3 Incest and the Sort

As the car pulled out of the hotel garage, Ling Rui had yet to recover from his shock. He turned to look at Tong Yi who was sitting in the front passenger seat. She was looking out of the window indifferently as if she was undisturbed by the fact that she had run away from her engagement party.

Since she didn't seem frazzled at all, why should he?

Calm down.

Soon, the car reached its destination.

Tong Yi pushed open the car door and got out.

Ling Rui, who had forced himself to remain calm, could no longer hold it in. He got out of the car and blocked Tong Yi's way. "Sister Yi, do you know what you're doing?"

Sister Yi?

Tong Yi frowned slightly at this nickname. "I know."

She was completing a mission.

Ling Rui asked the obvious, "Do you know that Lu Zhanbei is your fiancé's older brother?"

Tong Yi resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "I know."

Ling Rui nodded. Since she seemed to understand this, that meant she wasn't completely out of her mind. "When you had wanted to get engaged to Lu Moxi, I didn't agree to it. What's so fun about stepping straight into your grave? Yet you insisted on getting married to him. Fine, you wanted to do something good, so I supported your decision."

"Now, you're saying you want to cancel the wedding. I'm happy for you that you are finally willing to climb out of the grave. I'm happy for you but you can't climb out just to go to Lu Zhanbei."

Grave?

Doing something good?

What do these words even mean?

Tong Yi did not have the patience to listen to Ling Rui's nonsense. "What exactly do you want to say?"

Ling Rui shot Tong Yi with a look and said, "You were the one who asked me to say it. You're not allowed to turn your back on me if I say it." 

He then said, "Although you're a bit of a scumbag, there must be a bottom line, right? We can't get involved in incest and the sort. Other than Lu Zhanbei, you can be with anyone else."

Ling Rui thought of something and added, "Of course, Lu Moxi's father is also out of the question."

Incest and the sort?

Tong Yi was taken aback by Ling Rui's words. She asked tentatively, "Don't tell me you think I've taken a fancy to Lu Zhanbei?"

Ling Rui answered with a question of his own, "You just ran away from your marriage to save him, didn't you?"

"..." Tong Yi did not know how to respond. She just wanted to complete the game mission, why did he have to read into it?

Ling Rui thought that Tong Yi had realized the severity of the matter and hurriedly tried to persuade her, "Sister Yi, how about we head back? It's still not too late to go back now. If things get out of hand, it won't be easy to clean up the mess."

Go back and get engaged?

How was that possible?!

She had only one purpose entering this game world - to save Lu Zhanbei's consciousness from this world.

Everything else meant nothing to her.

Whether she made a big mess of things or not, it had nothing to do with her.

Even if the sky collapsed, it would not stop her from saving CEO Lu.

"If you're afraid, you can leave." Tong Yi turned and walked toward the police station.

"Me? Afraid? There's no such thing as fear in my dictionary. Aren't we just going to the police station? Who's afraid of who?" Ling Rui lowered his voice and slapped himself on the forehead.

'You can fool around all you want but if you dare enter a police station, I will break your legs.'

Those were his father's words.

How could he have forgotten about this?

As Tong Yi was about to reach the doors of the police station, Ling Rui chased after her in large strides. He did not look at Tong Yi as his gaze wandered around. "Well, I'm out of cigarettes. I'm going to buy a box of cigarettes. You go first, I'll be there soon."

Tong Yi was focused on saving CEO Lu and did not notice Ling Rui's look of guilt. Without so much as a flinch, she waved her hand. "Go."

Tong Yi entered the police station and found out that Lu Zhanbei had been detained because of a fight.

"Can I bail him out?" Tong Yi asked.
