16 BREATHE TO RELEASE

How many times has it happened that you wanted to take a vacation but you could not? How many times has it happened that you needed a break from your monotonous life but you could not? Has it happened to you that you wanted to shut the voices up in your head but you could not? It happens to all of us and not many of us are able to get it out of our heads. Although, there is one way through which you can get over all these issues; it will let you visit your happy place without making you move physically. With some introspection and deep breathing, one can easily be at peace. But how does one gain this introspection in this world full of chaos; an answer to all these questions – Breathing & Meditation.

More than a practice, meditation is a state of mind; it lets one connect to their inner self. Meditation has the power to shut the mind's continuous jibber-jabber and allow the soul to speak out loud and yet not shriek out.

It transports and transforms one without having to do anything extraordinary and alter one's troubled lifestyle by making it simpler. Meditation lets one close one's eyes to the outside world to see the good within. Further, moving the focus from the evils outward to focus the negatives within, they can turn them into positives for the betterment of their mental health.

But again the question lies, that being in such a stressful state whenever one closes their eyes to meditate, it becomes impossible to sit calmly without having the thoughts even for a few seconds. The answer to this is 'Pranayama' or breathing practices. It is very important to practice breathing techniques, as it is one of the best ways to release stress and negative energy. You must have observed that your breathing pattern changes as per your mental state. You tend to breathe heavily if you are angry that's because your mental state affects your breathing pattern and vice-versa.

Breathing practices like 'NadiShodhan', Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati or for that matter even deep breathe will help you release all the negativity. It will help you attain a peaceful state of mind, thereby helping you to meditate. For those heading towards a healthy state of mind, regular practising of breathing techniques and eventually meditation can perform wonders in their life
