Stage 3 - A Teamfight

"Ok, here comes the first one; [Water Ball]," I said as I could feel the mana from Mana Core moved to Mana Circuits as the mana formed into a water ball.

"This one is bigger than usual," Dan said as both him and Jane poked on it. "Alright, alright. Let's go for the next one." This would be a full chanting spell so that it would be a lot more potent than usual.

"Water spirit, heed my call. Let the water particles gather into a form, [Water Ball]," With that, I could feel strong mana gather at my palm. A small water ball could be seen at first, but seconds after seconds, the ball got bigger to the point that I had to hold it with both of my hands. It was twice as big as a soccer ball.

Aaron, who was checking on how all of his students are doing, felt a change in mana course as he looked over to where Arno, Dan, and Jane was at currently. There, he saw a water ball that was bigger than a normal one. He thought that it might be Arno, who poured more mana to it as he checked his mana with Mana Sense and discovered that the kid only used the same amount that he has always been using.

This surprised him a little, but he shrugged it off and checked on other students to make sure they're safe.

While Aaron left, Arno and the gang were surprised by the result as both Dan and Jane were surprised and excited at the same time.

"Woah!"

"That's very impressed, Arno! How did you do that?"

"I used Chant-Spell, Jane."

"Oh, of course…" She said as her cheeks became red from embarrassment.

We played a little with our magic until a group of kids started to come in our way, and they don't look friendly. *Sniff* *Sniff* I smell trouble. Dan and Jane also noticed this as all three of us looked at them with wary.

"Hello, is there anything you want from us?" I asked them. Hopefully, we can resolve this fast and peacefully. "Yeah, I wonder if you guys wanted to have a match against us. Three against three." One of them replied.

Hearing this, I was a bit suspicious. Mostly because all of them looked at Jane as if she were a goddess, jeez, they didn't even hit puberty yet, and they somehow already fell in love?

I looked over at both Dan and Jane's direction and asked, "So… What do you guys think? Should we fight them or not?" Dan looked excited as he said, "Sure, why not? I'm up for a fight." Jane nodded with a little smirk on her face.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Teacher Aaron appeared in front of us as he said, "So you guys want to fight, huh? I'll allow it. Hopefully, you guys would give the rest of the class some good show."

"Don't worry, Teacher, we will," I said with a confident smile. Suddenly I've felt chill in my spine as I looked at Teacher Aaron, who looked at me very sharply. "Oh? You're pretty confident today. I wonder how long your confidence would last today." This sent a shiver in my spine as I remembered when I fought against him during night training. It did not end well for me.

Now with a nervous smile, Dan, Jane, and I was facing off against the other group of our classmate. All of them were males, and they looked confident in their skills. The class made space for us to fight as Teacher Aaron set up a barrier using his mana, as he was the judge of the match.

"You all know the rules; we just had it yesterday. So get ready to battle."

All three of us got ready as the they did too.

"Fight!"

With that, all of the opposite group members rushed toward us while preparing to cast a spell.

"O' fire spirit, lend me your power-"

"Please guide me toward my victory-"

"Let the wing of the sky be free-"

"Dan, Jane, I'll distract them. Try and lay a trap while I'm at it, ok?"

"How long can you distract them?"

I looked at Jane and let out a smirk, "Long enough to beat them on my own." She seemed to be a bit annoyed by this, "If you can beat the alone, why would you need us, then, o' mighty Mage?"

"It's a team battle. Even if I am the 'strongest' of our class, I can't take on multiple enemies at the same time."

"Fair enough, good luck then."

With that, I rushed toward the enemy team, who was a bit taken back by my action, but they seemed more confident since it's only one person in front of them. Sadly, number isn't everything.

"Enchant my body and harden them, [Mana Body Strenghting]." A wave of mana covered my whole body as several attacks were heading towards me: a fireball, a light ball, and someone who has wings on his back.

I chanted another spell with Short-Chant-Spell, as water rose from the ground and formed a wall that protected me from the attack before falling to the ground.

"I got you now!"

One of them said he was the one who has bird-like wings on his back as he flew towards me with both of his hands that resemble a claw.

"No, you don't."

I said as when he was about to strike; I used the water on the ground to create a pillar that pushed him upwards as he was about to crash to the ceiling, Teacher Aaron jumped and went to save him. Seeing their teammates got beaten so easily made the rest of the opposite team surprised as they became wary of me.

Suddenly I heard a loud noise from behind me, "Hey, Arno! Don't take down the rest of them and save them for us!" It was Dan, who yelled as they were still preparing for their plan.

"Sorry my bad. Is the plan ready?"

"Yeah, it's ready. So back off now and enjoy the show."

Both Dan and Jane ran passed me as when the opposite team was about to move; they found out that they couldn't do it. I used Mana Sense and saw several thin lines of mana that wrapped around them. It was Jane affinity; string.

Next up was Dan, who stomped on the earth as both of the confused students fell to the ground and got their whole body except their heads buried.

With that, we have easily won the fight as Teacher Aaron went to get them out of the spot, and everything went to normal, except that some of our classmates decided to watch us performing various spells using the three main chanting methods.
