29 The Sealed Grounds

"It is almost about that time. I sent Anthony and Bryanna on some errands so they will be gone all day."

Twili and I followed Wes into the woods in front of the house. We walked for about fifteen minutes until we came to an open field surrounded by trees.

"Go ahead and step in the middle," Wes told me.

I did as I was told.

"Now what?" I asked.

He walked up to me and started to put these huge shackles around my legs, arms, and neck. The shackles were connected with chains coming from the ground and trees.

"Don't you think that these are a little too big for me? I can literally remove my collar shackle with ease."

"Well, if you are so sure of it, go ahead and try."

I grabbed onto my collar shackle and tried to remove it. As I was getting it past my neck, the shackle started to glow a hot pink color and shocked the hell out of me, "Why would you put an electric collar on me?!"

"It's so you won't break out of it at night so easily. I don't need you running around destroying more churches and having more hunters coming into town."

Wes walked off and started to put seals around the trees in a whole circular area.

"What are they for?" I asked.

"It's a barrier to keep people out and to keep you in. I just don't know how good these paper seals are and if the chains will work tonight."

"Where the hell did you get all this stuff from anyways?"

"Before Juan left, he told me how to make this type of barrier. So, we went through the trouble of making this area just for you. So, don't ever say that I do not love you."

"How did Juan even know about this?"

"He specializes in barriers and protection spells. I am glad that he does. We will be doing this for the next two nights until the full moon is gone. After that, I hope that we can at least get you to control your powers a bit more, so we do not have to use this place anymore. If there was an alpha here, that alpha can keep you in check and I wouldn't have to worry about none of this."

Wes finished and got next to Twili and checked his phone, "It is almost that time." He looked down at Twili, "If anything happens, you won't be able to just come and get me. You will be on your own if he breaks his chains, and since you are the only one in here with him, you will be the first target unless he or someone from the outside breaks the barrier. If that happens and you are able to walk, get me. Do you understand the situation that you are in and are you willing to still stay?"

Twili nods her head and Wes tells me, "Twili will stay with you until I come and get you in the morning. See ya!" And pointed at Twili, "Don't die."

Wes walks off and leaves me alone with her, "How are you feeling Skinwalker?"

"Nervous," I replied.

"But why?"

"Because if this does not work, I am afraid for whoever it might be that is next. I just got lucky the other day that I did not kill anyone I knew, but the Pastor did die, and I do not know how or why? To be honest, I wanted him dead anyways, but I wanted to be conscious when it happened."

Twili told me, "You probably scared the poor guy to death and decided to commit suicide."

"I doubt it." I told her, "He is a religious person, and they don't believe in killing themselves, because it will not allow them entrance to Heaven. They believe that if you do take your own life, you can't be buried in a cemetery that has been blessed by the priest because your soul has been tainted and damned to walk the Earth for eternity."

"That is something interesting. I wonder what happens to us animals or you when you die."

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Don't worry about it anymore. We can figure out that answer later, as for now, everything will be fine. I will be right here with you until morning."

I sat down and Twili sat next to me. All I could do was look up at the sky and watch it slowly turn from a scarlet red sky to a dark blue color.

I started to hear my heartbeat pulsing in my head, and I turned to Twili, "It's about to begin. Please back away and thank you for not leaving me alone."

She slowly backs off and I finally see the full moon starting to be visible in the night sky.

"All right! Bring on the pain!" I said as I started to scream in pain, "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

The next day I was woken up by Twili, licking me awake.

"What happened…?"

I quickly popped my head up and looked around and laughed nervously, "It worked!"

I was still in the place that Wes left me, which I come to call, The Sealed Grounds.

"Skinwalker! That was amazing! I have never seen a human being able to do what you did. You were all like, roar! And growl while trying to break your chains. Oh! And your bones broke as well! It was pretty cool to hear that happen. You got shocked several times. It also looked painful for you to shapeshift."

"Trust me. It was. I know that I have only done this twice, but it feels as if I had at least died a hundred times."

"Yup! And you are going to die two more times, tonight and tomorrow night!"

"Don't remind me… And why do you sound excited about that?"

Twili stopped jumping around and asked me, "Do you think that it will hurt for me to turn into a human when Wes does the spell?"

I answered her while I was still laying on the ground not wanting to move, "I have no clue. The only one who can answer that is Wes and that is if he even knows. If not, you will find out when you do it."

"Do you know if I will go savage like you and have to be placed in chains as well?"

"Dunno, but if you do, we now have the sealed grounds to do so, or we can just send you to a mental hospital and put a straitjacket on you. Either one will work fine."

I heard grass hustling in the distance, "Twili, someone is coming from over there. I can hear movement in the grass."

Twili faced that direction and got ready to attack.

Wes came out from the tall grass, "How did everything go last night Twili? I saw a bunch of light shows in this direction. I was outside on the porch making sure nothing came this way."

"Oh! It went great! He looked and acted like a natural predator. He was all growling and baring his fangs at me. He looked so cute trying to be threatening."

I picked my head up from the ground and told Twili, "I am not into furies or animals or however you want to call it. By the way, Wes, do you happen to have any water on you? I feel my throat dry."

Twili told me, "How about blondes? I overheard you have a thing for them, and that Bryanna is not the only one. She said something about this Regan girl."

"I do not have a thing for blondes!"

Wes laughed at her commentary and tossed a backpack in front of me, "Nope! I do not have any water with me, but I do have plenty of water back at the house. I'll go ahead and remove those shackles so you can put on some clothes and head back to the house." As Wes was undoing the chains he said, "You were right, Anthony was pissed and threw a tantrum that you were sent on a mission, and he wasn't invited."

"How did you do it to calm him down?"

"I told him that I wasn't going to teach him if he decided to try and follow you or get any information on how the mission went. They are all supposed to be classified and only to be discussed with me and the client. He shouldn't be bothering you anymore."

"But he will be in a bad mood all day and staring at me for not taking him."

"He will be fine," said Wes.

I just cannot believe that I have two more nights of this crap.
