4 Just another day...

This is how I like to wake up in the mornings, blue clear skies, a sunny day with a nice breeze.

"I'M GOING TO KILL ALL OF YOU!!!"

Also, I forgot to mention that we are dealing with a possessed child.

It irritated me that we had to deal with a little girl that has a demon inside her. What irritated me, even more, was her family yelling at me to do something other than just run around the front yard.

"WES! Don't just stand there! Do something!"

"BUAH HAHAH! You're doing great! Keep it distracted a little bit longer while I finish preparing."

Keep it distracted?! I never knew I was a diversion for him?!

I kept running around in circles screaming at him to help me from this demonic little girl that kept chasing me. If she did not have that thing inside her, she would look like a nice and sweet innocent girl. I didn't want to turn around and start beating the crap out of her; it wasn't her fault that this happened to her, or was it?

Dam it! I was supposed to be learning mixtures today, not doing a damn exorcism that I will never be able to perform.

All I could do was run around this huge farmhouse.

This is what I get for wanting to become a witch…

I made this girl chase me through the Rue and Rosemary plants on the side of the house in hopes that the entity would release its grasp on its human host. As I turned around with a grin on my face thinking that my plan had worked, only to realize that I had just pissed it off some more and she started to sprint even faster at me.

"That didn't work! SHIT!"

That's what I get for underestimating this demon.

To be honest, this is the first demon I ever had to face. I have been around whenever Wes performs an exorcism but then tells me to leave before he starts because I was not ready to fight off an evil spirit yet. I get that, but somehow, I am ready now?! That is some bullshit.

I ran back to the front of the house where Wes was and saw that he was still mixing stuff.

Why isn't he ready?

The girl's family was just yelling and screaming at her to stop trying to hurt me. Yeah, like that's going to work. Maybe on her, but not that thing inside of her.

I did not want to stop running because I knew that if this girl got a hold of me, things could turn ugly. Thanks to Wes's teachings, I knew that some demons had the strength of twenty men. I do not know how my new body would be able to stand up against something like that, and I did not want another repeat of my encounter with the wolf.

"WES! HURRY UP!!" I yelled.

"You should know better than anyone else that you cannot rush these things!"

"That is easy for you to say! When you are not the one being chased!"

I kind of feel like he is doing this on purpose and getting me back for eating all the pork last night while he slept. He knew it was me! Nobody else had a key to the house and we did not have any guests either. I glanced back at the psychopath pursuing me and realized that it had stopped chasing me, and was now, heading straight for Wes…

"So, you chose to come after me? Just one more ingredient and I will banish you back into the depths of Hell."

I saw that he kept searching for something.

He scratched his head in confusion while the demon was closing in, "Paul, what happened to the sea salt?"

With a nervous voice, I said, "I might have used it to make the pork last night…"

"You did what?!"

The girl knocked over the table in front of Wes where he was making his spell, which now lay on the ground in ruin.

Wes chased after me with the girl behind him and ran past me, "Here, you deal with her for a little while longer and give me time to come up with a new spell!"

"You fucking asshole!" I yelled at him.

Once again, we were both running for my life.

This time I had a bright idea, I ran past her parents, "She's your daughter! Have fun!"

Now it was them who were running for their lives.

"Please help us!" they yelled.

"Don't worry! You will get the help you need as soon as Wes gets back with that new spell."

Now to relax a bit.

After a couple of minutes had passed, I did not hear the girl's parents screaming. As I looked around, the girl had both of her parents in a chokehold.

"SHIT!"

"Hey, parents! Don't you dare die on me!"

I rushed over to free them. I pulled the mother free first and I got behind the girl to choke her out as well while the mother tried to pull her arm to free her husband.

"Let him go or I will put your ass to sleep!" I yelled at her mother, "Woman! Pull harder!!!"

"I'm trying but she has a tight grip on him!"

While I was on the ground behind her, I started to choke her harder and eventually she let go and started to punch me in the face.

"That is, it! I had it with this girl!"

I struggled to get up while trying to keep my hold on her and decided to slam her to the ground.

"How do you like that!"

She was knocked out and I turned to check on the guy who was still on the ground coughing.

"Pff- thank you. I can't believe my daughter tried to kill me."

Tears started to roll down his face. His wife keeled over him and tried to comfort him.

I started to feel bad for letting her chase them, "It's all right. It is not her who is trying to kill you. It is the demon inside of her. Just take it easy for now. I know that today has been a tough day for all of you, but I promise that we are going to do everything we can to save your little girl."

"What the hell is going on around here?!"

I heard footsteps getting closer and stopped right behind me. I tried to turn around only to get yanked by my left ear.

"Why the hell are they on the floor covered in dirt while breathing heavily?!"

"I can explain!" I told Wes while trying to reason with him.

Wes started to pull my ear even harder, "I gave you one job! Keep her distracted and you managed to somehow fuck that up!"

"Yes! You're right! I fucked up but I made our jobs a lot easier now!"

"And how the hell is that?!"

I pointed to the ground behind me, "She's on the floor knocked out! Look!"

Wes, still pulling my ear and yanked me over to where I was pointing, "Does that look like she's knocked out to you?!"

I looked around in confusion, "I swear! She was laying right here a minute ago!"

"So not only did you fail to distract her, but you also caused to get her parents hurt, and you lost her as well!"

I laughed nervously and raised both of my arms to my side while sweating bullets.

Wes yelled into the ear that he was pulling, "FIND HER!!!!"

I started searching every inch of the farmhouse, I would not let her make me look like a fool and get me in trouble with Wes again. A mere child will not bring me down! What would my friends say if they found out I got my ass handed to me by a little girl! I will not hear the end of it! I started to freak out and ran throughout the backyard.

Okay, calm down. This is no time to panic. You need to get a hold of yourself and not let this situation get the better of you.

Then I started to think about what Wes told me. He was right, how could I have put the lives of her parents in danger like that? Now I am wondering what could have happened if she killed one of them. I guess that we would be burying them somewhere around this field. It would be crazy trying to tell the police officers that a possessed girl killed her parents.

As I stood there lost in my train of thought, I got ambushed.

"Sneak attack! This is payback for earlier! Do you think that I will just let you slam me to the floor and get away with it!"

She jumped on my back and started to choke me out. I was on my knees with my right arm extended out in front of me barely choking out a cry for help. My vision started to get blurry, and it was getting hard to breathe. I heard her childish evil laugh in my ear.

No! Not again!

"HOLY SHINE!"

A bright white light shined from my right-hand side and both the girl and I switched from choking each other out to hugging each other tight while screaming in terror.

I was on the ground struggling to breathe and regain my sight. Once my vision was in focus, I saw the girl laying down on the floor behind me and Wes standing beside me.

"What the hell was that?!" I asked.

"It was my holy shine spell."

"Holy shine spell?! What is that? What does it even do?!"

"It's a flash of divine light that exorcises demons."

I was in disbelief, "You mean to tell me that you could have done that all this time and chose to do it now?! Why?!"

"I did not feel like wasting my magical energy."

"And you said I was lazy."

Her parents came from around the corner of the house.

"She is okay now and is safe to go home. I must warn you when she wakes up, she will feel all kinds of symptoms such as dizziness, weakness, and wanting to throw up. She will be fine, I guarantee it."

The couple could not thank him enough and Wes only charged them two hundred dollars for it.

"Now that they are gone, you want to get started on learning some mixtures?"

"Nope! I am calling it a day. I'm going inside and I do not want to be bothered all day."
