10 Hibiki

I was woken up this morning by Bryanna barging into my room and throwing herself on top of me.

"Body slam!"

"What are you doing?!" I yelled at her as I moved out of the way.

"Waking your lazy butt up."

"For what?!" I asked.

I did not like the grin that she was giving me.

"We are about to go have lunch."

I asked her with my eyes sequenced, "Why did you say that as if you have something up your sleeve?"

"I don't have sleeves with this top. Plus, I have nothing to hide. I told you what we were doing today."

"You said to have lunch. I don't know why you're so excited about some meal."

She said still grinning, "Don't worry about it. You'll see. Just get ready."

I don't like how she said that.

This girl does not know what privacy is when it comes to me and when I change. I don't mind it anymore; I am used to it, but I can assure you that I never went completely commando in front of her.

The good thing is that she was busy texting with someone on the phone while she lay in my bed.

"Okay! All done." I said.

Bryanna jumped out of my bed, "About time. Let's go."

I followed her out of my room, "You still haven't told me where we are going?"

She said as she kept walking, "I told you already that we are going out for lunch."

"I guess…"

As we were driving, about maybe 10 minutes later she received a message.

"OH no!"

I looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Change of plans. We are not going to go eat where I had intended. I guess it's just you and me again for lunch."

"What are you talking about? Who else was coming? Bryanna stop giggling and tell me!"

She never did say who else was going.

Bryanna looked at me and smiled, "How about we go to the spot!"

My mouth started to water when she said that.

"Hibiki!"

Bryanna nods up and down while grinning from ear to ear at me, "Oh yeah."

That place has been our favorite restaurant to eat at since we were kids.

Looking at the building from the outside you would not believe that it was a ramen shop. The moment you walked in you were greeted by a friendly smile from the same old lady and her daughter, who has run the shop together for a while. The daughter's name is Aiko, she always takes our orders and is always polite and respectful.

"What may I get you to drink today sir?" Aiko asked as she seated us.

I quickly told her, "Sweet tea please!"

"And for you madame?"

"I'll just have some water."

"Very well then, will you guys like any appetizers or are you ready to order?"

I order the same thing every time I come here, "I'll take the tonkatsu miso ramen!"

"What about you Madame?"

"I'll have the same."

"Very well, I will go put your order in and call me over if you would like anything else."

Even though Aiko already knew our orders she still politely asks us for our order anyways, and half of the time she has already placed the order in before we were even seated.

Once Aiko left Bryanna tells me, "You know, I had planned to go eat somewhere else and I invited Regan to come with us."

"What?! Why would you do that?!"

Bryanna said annoyed, "Because it's obvious that you like her. I'm just trying to get you two together. I was even planning to get lost for a while so the two of you can talk."

I begged her, "Please don't do that…"

She crossed her arms, "Why not?"

"You know I get nervous and tongue-tied when I get around her. The entire time that we are there it's going to be extremely quiet and awkward."

Bryanna starts laughing at me, "Well you need to learn to talk to her. If you keep waiting and taking your sweet time, someone else will come and sweep her off her feet!"

"I know, I know… I just can't seem to gather up the courage to tell her."

Uh oh, there goes that grin again.

Bryanna said determined, "That's why I am going to keep inviting her out with us, even if it is to just hang out. I promise you that I will do my best to try and get her to like you."

Aiko interrupts our conversation, "Your ramen sir."

"Thanks!"

"I also have the ladies as well. Enjoy"

As I was getting ready to dig in, I asked Bryanna, "I have been wanting to ask you something, Wes and I are looking for someone else to learn witchcraft, and I was wondering if you knew somebody or even you ever considered learning?"

She nearly choked on her food, "Why?! What happened with you?!"

"'Nothing happened to me. We are just looking for recruits."

"I don't know of anyone who would want to learn, and I never thought about giving it a try. I don't think that I would be cut out for it."

"Nonsense! I think you will be perfect for it." I told her as I smiled at her.

Bryanna started playing with her food, "How about I think about it and let you know later if the offer is still on the table."

"For you, it will always remain open."

We finished eating and Bryanna dropped me back off at my parents' house.

I stayed in my room thinking about when she will want to start learning. I wanted to go to Wes's house as well, but I couldn't do that either. He told me earlier that he was going to be out all afternoon to do some work. I should have been there to help him if he needed it.

Oh well. Hopefully, I get a chance to see him soon.
