Shopping trip with Fiona

(Aura POV)

Honey is at home sleeping. His condition is still not too good but he is improving. I am out shopping with Fiona and Eden.

"Was it alright to leave him alone?" (Fiona)

"He isn't alone though. That planet spirit is there with him. We have left Aera and Aegis too. Besides, that guy is a monster. No way anyone can do anything to him."

I assure Fiona. Fiona is still not too well acquainted with Clive. If she was, she wouldn't have asked something so unnecessary.

"Eden, how do you feel about your papa falling ill?" (Fiona)

"Papa rarely falls ill. This is the first time he actually fell ill but I am not too worried. Papa has always been like that." (Eden)

Fiona is somewhat amazed at Eden. My girl really is matured. She was just 3 months old when I died. But now she is talking like an adult.

Well, since she changed her species, her time perception has changed. She is only 15 months old from her date of birth. It's an estimate. I didn't have this level of intelligence when I was bear.

"Eden really is a grown up!" (Fiona)

Fiona is patting her head. She is praising her. As her mother, it makes me proud that someone is praising my daughter.

"Eden, what was your life with your papa like?"

I was kind of intrigued by that topic. Because I was revived later. Eden spent quite some time with Clive and Hazel along with Fay.

"Papa was really carefree. He always did whatever he wanted to do. He even let me do what I wanted. But I mostly read books. Papa taught me many things. Big sis Hazel took care of me a lot. For some reason, papa would always restrict big sis Hazel before going into the bath." (Eden)

I see. Clive had hard time with Hazel. I can see why. Before, her devotion to Clive was a bit too much. That has improved. She is still putting Clive before her but she thinks about herself.

Clive never wanted us to be dependent on him. He wants us to be free.

"He must be a nice guy." (Fiona)

"I wonder. Our first meeting wasn't very nice."

I still remember that. Although I was but a bear, I still remember the beat down he gave me. I died.

"Eh! I thought you two met and got married early. Otherwise how can Eden be this big. She looks to be at least 7 years old." (Fiona)

Fiona doesn't know about us.

"Well, you do know that we come from a different world, right?"

"Yes. I have heard the gist of it from Fay." (Fiona)

I look around. Although there are not many people, there are still a few people on the street.

"Let's go somewhere more private. Our conversation should not be heard."

No one would take kindly to it if we talk about other worlds and stuff. Fiona led us to a cafe.

"This is a place I frequent. You can trust them and the desserts here are good." (Fiona)

"Then we can talk here for a while. First of all, we aren't married."

"Eh! But you call him your husband. Eden calls him papa." (Fiona)

"How to say it so you can understand? Let's start from the beginning. Do you know why Fay was sent to that world?"

"No. But she said that it was to investigate. I don't know the actual reason." (Fiona)

"Fay was sent there to be ambushed. A guy named Martin sent Fay to our planet along with 4 of his goons."

"Wait, how do you know Duke Martin? I don't think I have told you about him? Did Fay mention him?" (Fiona)

"She did. She hated him with a passion. Anyway, Clive saves Fay from being ambushed. No, wait…"

I think about it again. Clive only saved Fay because he didn't want any more trouble.

"Why did you stop?" (Fiona)

"Oh…Fay's father entrusted Martin with a special fleet, didn't he?"

"How do you know so many secrets? You only got here!" (Fiona)

"Well, my honey knows everything. When he got rid of that Martin guy, Fay felt so relieved. She looked like a burden was taken off of her chest."

"…..What…did…you just say? Clive took care of Duke Martin?" (Fiona)

"Yeah. His entire fleet was destroyed alongside him and a god. Of course the ranks of lower gods are nothing for my honey."

When I say it like that, I sound like a wife bragging about her husband. But Fiona isn't looking ok. It's probably hard for her to believe. I mean, her common sense is probably telling her to deny it.

I wait for her to come to a conclusion. I won't disturb her. I watch Eden eat her parfait which she ordered.

It's a strawberry parfait with strawberry on top. I wonder if this world is similar to ours. I mean, strawberries and ice cream, should they even exist in this world?

Clive said that the old gods of that world is currently ruling this world so I think this world shares some similarities.

"Aura…." (Fiona)

Fiona suddenly talked and I looked at her. She is looking restless and her forehead has sweat on it.

"Is what you said really true?" (Fiona)

"It is. Your Gods ordered you to attack us and retake the land they have lost. Clive is the only one who survived that attack. After that he met all of us and came here. On our way, we met that Duke Martin and his fleet which Clive took care of in a jiffy. And now, we are here."

I give her the briefest explanation possible. But that's what we have done until now.

"Does he seek revenge?" (Fiona)

"No. He just wants peace and quiet. But he never gets the peace. Currently he is sick and weak. So we will be on guard. I hope you won't do anything that would jeopardize our relationship?"

I asked her nicely. But her sweating face and blank expression tells me that she won't. I hate to scare her like this but fear is the best thing that can ensure someone's cooperation.

Our conversation is over. Eden is also finished with her parfait. Fiona paid for her and we went on our way. I hope Clive is okay.
