Thump, thump, thump...
Green Goblin took a step forward and lunged towards the machine.
Andrew Spider immediately understood what he intended to do.
Though he wasn't sure why he wanted to get the lizard serum, he knew the danger it posed and that it must not fall into his hands.
Andrew Spider lowered his head and said to Gwen Stacy, "Get ready, I'm going to throw you out."
"Huh?" Gwen Stacy was momentarily confused.
In an instant, her form was propelled by Andrew Spider to another corner of the same floor.
Gwen Stacy let out a gasp, but as she landed, she felt herself being held back.
Turning around, she saw a spider web that had appeared behind her.
On the other side, after momentarily securing Gwen Stacy's safety, Andrew Spider darted towards the direction of the lizard gene serum.
At that moment, Green Goblin reached for the last pumpkin grenade from his belt and hurled it towards Andrew Spider.
The spider-sense warned again!
Andrew Spider quickly extended his hands in front of him, curling his body into a ball as a defense.
Boom!
The close-range explosion of the pumpkin grenade sent Andrew Spider's airborne figure backward.
Fortunately, due to Spider-Man's sturdy physique and timely defense, aside from his suit getting damaged and his skin feeling a slight burning sensation from direct exposure, there was no substantial harm inflicted.
However, this brief disruption allowed Green Goblin to successfully seize the lizard gene serum.
Without hesitation, he exerted force and crushed both vials of serum.
With the high pressure released from the vials, the serum rapidly aerosolized, spreading throughout the room.
Green Goblin took two deep breaths of the green mist, sensing his body becoming more vibrant again. His body functions, which had weakened due to severe injuries, began to recover rapidly.
Andrew Spider's expression drastically changed, though.
At this moment, he couldn't afford to contemplate the origin of this creature or even defeating him.
He turned around and swiftly headed towards Gwen Stacy on the other side of the room.
With his mask protecting him, the green mist couldn't affect him, but Gwen had no such defense!
Gwen Stacy had also realized this and had moved herself to the farthest corner.
This corner had the least airflow and would temporarily slow down the influx of mist.
Just as Andrew Spider was about to reach Gwen Stacy's side, a hand emerged from the mist behind him, grabbing his foot and slamming him forcefully to the side.
Andrew Spider quickly got up, looking behind him.
It's the Green Goblin!
Amidst the mist, it was as if they were in a Green Goblin's domain.
Norman removed his mask directly, taking in the green mist with deep breaths.
As he continued to inhale the mist, his body's skin surface began to exhibit changes similar to those of the Lizard. His body also started to gradually swell.
Accompanying this transformation was an enhancement in his strength, speed, physique, and other aspects!
"Uncle Osborn?!!" Through the mist, Andrew Spider finally recognized the identity of the person.
Although his appearance had become somewhat grotesque due to the mutation, one could still make out his true identity!
"ARRRRGHHHH!" Green Goblin lunged at Andrew Spider once again.
Andrew Spider was forced to engage, but upon seeing that somewhat familiar face, he still subconsciously held back slightly in his attacks.
Until... "Ugh, ugh, ugh..." faint sounds of painful moans came from the side.
It was Gwen's voice!
Andrew Spider instinctively turned his head to look, only to witness a scene that made his blood boil.
Gwen Stacy's body was sprawled on the ground, her hands clutching the floor, involuntarily writhing in agony.
Veins on her skin outside her clothes bulged, and tiny green scales were rapidly growing.
The cloth she had torn from her clothes in haste to cover her nose and mouth had fallen aside.
As the cover dropped, the mutation's pace accelerated!
"No, Gwen!" Andrew Spider finally erupted in anger.
He clenched his fist, delivering a punch to Green Goblin who was grappling with him. He forced Green Goblin several steps back, then quickly closed the gap to Gwen's side.
"No, Gwen, no." Andrew Spider held Gwen Stacy in his arms, feeling utterly helpless.
He looked towards the glass nearby, gave it a fierce kick, then another, shattering it. Holding Gwen Stacy tightly, he leaped out through the broken window.
"Aerghh! Spider-Man!" Green Goblin halted his movement, following Andrew Spider to the window's edge.
Astonishingly, he jumped out too!
As Andrew Spider descended rapidly with Gwen Stacy in his arms, Green Goblin quickly caught up.
Because Green Goblin was in free fall, whereas Andrew Spider needed to ensure their safety by continuously shooting out webs to control their descent speed.
"SPIDER-MAN!" Green Goblin clawed at the wall beside him with one hand, then forcefully pushed off with both feet. Utilizing the wall's surface for added propulsion, he rapidly closed in on Andrew Spider.
At this moment, he seemed somewhat like a synthesis of Green Goblin and Lizard.
He possessed a massive physique similar to that of Lizard, even dragging a long tail behind him.
However, compared to Lizard, his body was even greener, shining with a luminous quality. His head wasn't the elliptical or round shape of a lizard; instead, it was a pointed, conical shape reminiscent of a true goblin.
His body was quite muscular, at least two sizes larger than before, and his estimated weight seemed to have increased by at least 100 kilograms.
On his back were a pair of wings, though these wings were very small, clearly unable to support flight.
They might even be incapable of fully extending.
But if Mark were here, he would definitely recognize him at a glance.
Because the Green Goblin right now looks like a younger version of the Green Goblin from the Ultimate Universe.
"Damn it!" Andrew Spider hastily shot out a strand of web to quickly pull himself to the side.
However, Green Goblin was as persistent as a shadow, steadfastly fixated on him.
To make matters worse, Gwen Stacy woke up in Andrew Spider's embrace!
And she awoke as a Lizard Person!
Sensing the nearby danger, her biological defense instincts kicked in.
Instinctively, she let out a roar and clawed at Andrew Spider's shoulder.
Andrew Spider let out a pained grunt but held onto her firmly, not letting go.
Lizard Gwen only then realized the situation.
Perhaps because Andrew Spider had taken her away in time, preventing her from inhaling too much, her sanity remained intact.
Upon spotting Andrew Spider, she quickly withdrew her hand. "Sorry, Peter."
"It's alright." Andrew Spider lowered his head, looking at his girlfriend in his arms with a rather complicated expression.
Lizard Gwen's appearance largely retained its previous form, except that from the roots of her ears to the sides of her cheeks were densely packed, bumpy scales, rather unsettling.
Andrew Spider felt a bit concerned about how she would react when she saw her current appearance.
