22 Chapter 22

After stealthing, Miles crawled all the way upwards and soon arrived at the entrance of the insertion.

However, his figure stopped as he saw a sturdy figure silently hanging upside down at that insertion port.

Four mechanical legs, a long scorpion tail behind him - it was none other than the Scorpion.

"Kid, you've finally come!" The Scorpion sneered as he looked towards the invisible Miles.

Miles was startled.

His uncle had told him that his stealth was sometimes able to circumvent infrared detectors.

Although his body would spontaneously emit heat when in motion causing it to be detected by the detectors, as long as he slowed down, this heat leakage could be reduced to an extremely small degree.

Theoretically speaking, he shouldn't be detected. However, at this moment, there was no time for him to think more as...

*Swoosh!*

The Scorpion's tail needle violently stabbed towards him.

Miles was so frightened as he fell back.

He was not confident that he could defeat the Scorpion, so he was prepared to leave the Scorpionvs line of sight first and find an opportunity from the other side.

However, how could the Scorpion let him go so easily?

This brat was on his boss's must-kill list after all.

Scorpion exerted force with all four of his feet and violently catapulted towards Miles.

Seeing the bad situation, Miles was so frightened that his climbing ability temporarily failed, and his figure immediately fell down due to the gravitational force.

Luckily in mid-air he remembered the use of the web shooters and hurriedly found a pivot point to shoot out the web and flew over.

The Scorpion also saw how inexperienced this guy was and chased after him with a fierce smile.

The two chased and fled, jumping around in this building.

Although Miles never fought head on, it was good that the spider gene had given him a super strong physique and spider sense, so although he wasn't able to deal with the Scorpion's attacks head on, he wasn't easily caught.

The Scorpion was furious about this, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Although a scorpion was the natural enemy of a spider, if a spider kept running around in the sky, the scorpion was destined to not able to not do anything at that.

What the scorpion didn't know was that the young spider it was chasing possessed an extremely strong potential.

Under the effect of high pressure, this potential was being released outwards continuously.

—-—

*Boom!*

With a bang, Mark was slapped out of the air by the Green Goblin with a vicious claw, then he smashed heavily against the metal wall on the side.

*Cough!* Mark backhandedly clasped the wall with one hand, sticking himself to it, and rubbed his chest vigorously with the other hand.

This Green Goblin was simply a what it is, a monster.

Strong, fast, high defence, and most crucially, flying!

It was many times stronger than the other and usual versions of it which just has a personality disorder, enhanced physicality and advanced weaponry and technology.

In the distance, Gwen and Peni were still tangling with the Green Goblin.

However, the webs they shot out didn't manage to affect the Green Goblin much at all.

They used a few strands of webs to entangle the green goblin's wings, trying to get rid of its ability to fly.

However, it just grabbed it with a backhand and ripped off all the spider silks and flew once again.

These spider silks, which were roughly 135 times tougher than human bones and 25 times tougher than high-strength alloy steel, could only delay it for a few seconds! Like what?!

What weakness does this guy even have?

Mark's mind raced as he observed the green goblin's actions.

"Arrrgggh!"

Just as Mark was paddling and thinking, Gwen let out a miserable scream and was grabbed by the Green Goblin's huge palm.

The Green Goblin's hand was huge and incomparable, and it happened to hold Gwen's body, clenching it so hard that it actually wanted to crush her directly!

Penny was in a great hurry, and with her spider mech, she rolled up onto the Green Goblin's shoulder, and threw a combination of punches at its face.

But the Green Goblin had an extremely high level of intelligence, after all, it was a mad personality derived from the mad scientist Norman Osborn!

It just used its other hand to block some of Penny's important attacks, while more power was placed on Gwen's side.

The intention was obvious.

It was trying to quickly get rid of one obstacle.

There was no way Mark would continue observing any longer after seeing that as he quickly stretched out his hands at the same time, and two spider silks shot left and right on both of the Green Goblin's shoulders.

"Norman, look at me here!" Mark shouted, his figure accelerated to the extreme in a split second with the help of the spider silks and the explosive power of his own legs, shooting towards the Green Goblin's head.

"GRAAAAHHH!!" The Green Goblin returned a roar.

It sensed the threat from Mark's move of web catapult, and its wings flapped rapidly, using this to disrupt Mark's line of attack.

That move was indeed successful.

The pivot point of Mark's web was on it, and when it moved, the pivot point naturally moved along with it, and the overall centre of power was then put in disarray.

But this was exactly what Mark wanted to see.

His real target was Gwen, who was being pinched by the Green Goblin.

Mark kicked in the air, aiming for the Green Goblin's wrist area.

The power of this kick of his was impressive, kicking the Green Goblin's hand that was pinching Gwen sideways.

When a normal person's wrist was pinched hard, the palm of the hand would also temporarily lose its strength.

Mark's hand wasn't as big as this, and there was no way to pinch the Green Goblin's wrist, but the effect of the kick was similar.

The Green Goblin's hand subconsciously then loosened a bit.

Gwen's petite body slipped down through the gap between the green abomination's hands.

Mark hurriedly loosened the web from earlier and jumped off the green goblin's hand, cradling Gwen in his arms in mid-air before swinging to a platform on the other side once again and setting Gwen down.

Gwen, who was moments away from being pinched to death by the Green Goblin, was a little out of breath, her consciousness was almost blurred.

Mark a first aid technique that he knows but found that it was useless.

Looking at Gwen's almost undulating chest, Mark gritted his teeth, pulled her mask up, and after taking a deep breath, he pushed his breath through her cherry lips.

After a flurry of work, Gwen's consciousness snapped to reality.

Looking at Mark's face, which was close to her own, Gwen blushed slightly.

She was not angry.

Although her consciousness was a bit blurred just now, she still had a basic perception of the outside world.

She knew that Mark was trying to save her.

When his eyes met Gwen's clear eyes, Mark was a bit embarrassed as he quickly dispelled the awkwardness. "*Cough*, that, are you alright?"

Gwen nodded.

Although the bones all over her body were still throbbing and painful, the spider gene had given her a healing factor, and she was already starting to feel much better.

And her body was still recovering rapidly.

Mark nodded and stood up, "I must go help Penny as soon as possible, you rest here."

With that, he turned around and rushed towards the Green Goblin as if he was fleeing.

This statement was actually true.

Because she had lost Gwen and Mark's support and containment, Penny could only deal with the Green Goblin by herself now.

In just a few tens of seconds, she was already in danger.

Luckily, Mark returned to the battlefield in time, which prevented her from losing immediately.

But with the loss of Gwen, a skilful warrior, Mark and Penny were still in a precarious position!

"Hey guys, looks like you need a little help?" At that moment, a calm voice rang out.

Mark looked and was elated to who it was.
