82 Chapter 82

[Third Person's PoV]

Upon returning to the hideout, Peter found Gwen already dressed and ready to head home, though she paced nervously.

As Peter dressed, he asked, "Did your dad say he was going to be there?"

"Yeah, he asked if it was urgent enough for him to leave work. I told him yes, that he needed to meet us at Aunt May and Uncle Ben's place."

Peter walked out, fully dressed, and noticed Gwen pacing. "Aren't you a little too nervous?"

"What if Dad decides to arrest us?" Gwen asked anxiously, prompting Peter to laugh.

Gwen glared at Peter. "It's not funny; I'm serious."

Peter approached Gwen from behind and hugged her before kissing her on the cheek. "You're worrying for nothing. Will we get scolded? Absolutely. I'm even scared of Uncle Ben's reaction. But they care about us. Trust me. Your dad will just be angry that we're risking our lives. He'll be in total dad mode."

Gwen leaned back on Peter, took a deep breath, and kissed his cheek. "I hope you're right… Let's do this, while I'm still up for it and before I change my mind."

Peter nodded, and they both left the hideout, scanning their surroundings before leaping to a nearby roof and darting home, bounding from building to building.

Arriving near their house, they spotted a police cruiser parked out front. Peter glanced at Gwen, who appeared tense. He gently took her hand, lifted it, and kissed it.

They entered the house and were immediately engulfed in a hug by Aunt May.

"Oh, thank goodness you guys are alright. Do you have any idea how worried I've been? Especially after what happened to MJ. I tried reaching you, but you wouldn't pick up the phone," Aunt May said, her voice filled with concern.

"Sorry, Aunt May. We were... occupied. This is actually why I had Gwen call you to meet us here," Peter explained, leading them to the living room.

In the living room, George and Uncle Ben awaited them. Peter sat Gwen next to him, and they faced their family.

"Gwen and I have some important news to share," Peter began before giving Gwen a wink.

"What is it? This better be important; I left the office in the middle of a meeting for this," George said, eyeing them with a raised brow.

"Well, it's a heavy topic that will affect all of us," Peter said solemnly.

Nervously, Gwen blurted out, "We've been really careful, I swear!"

Peter fought to maintain his composure. "We've kept this secret for a month, and it's been eating us alive. We knew you'd scold us and be disappointed, which is why it took so long to tell you. We considered keeping it hidden, but we couldn't. So, instead of you finding out on your own, we decided to tell you first."

Uncle Ben and George looked horrified, while Aunt May's hand covered her mouth, tears welling in her eyes.

Gwen and Peter exchanged a glance before nodding.

"YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!" Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and George exclaimed simultaneously, with Aunt May being the loudest.

"We're Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider" They said at the same time as they all shouted out.

A heavy silence settled in the room as they grappled with the revelation and the misunderstanding.

Here's the revised version:

The silence was abruptly shattered by Peter, who erupted into laughter, doubling over with tears streaming down his face.

Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and George Stacy looked unamused.

Aunt May turned to Gwen and asked, "So, are you pregnant or not?"

Gwen shook her head, eliciting a collective sigh of relief from the group, though Aunt May's disappointment was evident, though she'd never admit it.

George sighed heavily before standing up. "I'm extremely busy at the moment, I don't have time for your childish games. Gwen, I'm very disappointed in you. It's no laughing matter to claim to be the most wanted vigilante in New York. If you had said that to the wrong person, it could've gotten you into serious trouble."

Peter's laughter ceased, and he exchanged a glance with Gwen. They both leaped from their seats, landing on the ceiling, leaving everyone speechless, even George.

Peter looked down awkwardly. "Sorry about that. I thought if I gave you fake terrible news first, then revealed our actual news, which isn't as bad, you'd have a better reaction. Like, 'Well, at least she's not pregnant.' So, once again, Gwen and I are Ghost-Spider and Spider-Man. We're sorry for keeping it hidden from you."

It took a few moments for them to process the information, resulting in an awkward silence as they all stared up at Peter and Gwen with mouths agape.

George took a few steps back and sat down next to Uncle Ben.

"WHAT!?!?!" they all collectively shouted, prompting Peter and Gwen to jump back down into their seats.

"How did it even begin?" Uncle Ben was the first to ask, unable to contain his curiosity.

"You remember when you told me to take a leap of faith, and then I showed you a permission slip for a field trip?" Peter asked, and Uncle Ben nodded, recalling their interaction.

"Well, during that trip, Gwen and I were bitten by spiders, which gave us our superpowers," Peter explained, holding out his hands as sparks flew from them. "I gained an electricity-type power from the bite."

Gwen extended her hands, and a white mist began to emanate from them. "Mine was related to ice."

"Why did you guys decide to do something so dangerous?" Aunt May couldn't help but shout, looking at them with concern.

Peter glanced at Uncle Ben. "For me, it was because of you, Uncle Ben."

Aunt May turned to Uncle Ben, glaring. "Have you been filling that boy's head with crazy ideas?" she demanded.

Peter continued, "It was because of your philosophy: 'With great power comes great responsibility.' That always stuck with me, so now that I have more power, I also have a greater responsibility to use it for good."

Uncle Ben smiled proudly, while Aunt May glared accusingly.

Meanwhile, Gwen looked at George and smiled. "For me, it was because of you, Dad."

George looked shocked and pointed at himself before scoffing, "I did no such thing. In fact, I'm pretty sure I would have adamantly denied the thought of being vigilantes, which you should know I wouldn't allow."

Gwen shook her head. "That's not what I meant. I meant I look up to you. You always get up every day without fail and go out to help people. You dress and carry a badge to show people they can count on you whenever they're in need. I always looked up to you for it, which is why when I was bitten, I decided to be exactly like you—dress up and show my symbol to the world to tell them I'll be there to help."

George covered his mouth with his fist before looking away, holding back his emotions. After regaining control, he turned toward her and sighed. "If you wanted to be like me, then you should have gone to school, gotten good grades, gone to a police academy, before receiving your very own badge," he said in a reprimanding tone.

"I could have you both arrested for your actions, you know. What you're doing is against the law, and as a police officer, I have every right to arrest both of you," George said, his voice stern.

Then he sighed, stood up, and pulled Gwen into a hug. "But right now, I'm here as a father, and as a father, I'm both extremely worried and proud of what you've done and what might happen to you."

"Quit," Aunt May said sternly, surprising everyone in the room.

"What?" both Peter and Gwen asked in astonishment.

"You heard me. I said quit. I will not have you running around putting your lives in danger just because you want to play heroes. Forgive me for using your name in vain lord, but for Christ's sake, you're only 15 years old! Do you expect me to be okay with letting you go out there like nothing? So like I said I expect you to quit" She said with no expression on her face.
