10 The Prom

Chapter Nine

My mother allows me to attend the Prom with the help of Mandy, and Aunt Salina to convince her. Andy was kneeling on begging my mother to be my date. See how to be stiff of being a witch sometimes.

Exactly seven-thirty in the evening Andy picked me up, we wanted to come in at Mandy's home, but she said she would pick up Liam. I am happy for her that her dream of being with Liam for tonight has come true.

I'm just thinking what if the love magic spell lost its power of magic, I don't want to get Mandy hurt.

When we arrived at the hall, there were already quite a few students coming. Mandy waves to us when she sees me and Andy coming, she's standing beside Liam and her hand is wrapped around Liam's arms. I hold Andy's arm when we walk into the hall.

They look like a beautiful couple. Mandy looked stunning tonight. She curled the ends of her hair to match the blue dress she was wearing that was off the shoulders and knee-length. She doesn't put on match makeup and she looks simple and elegant. Liam looks handsome, too, in his tuxedo suit that fits on his body and height.

Prom night is about to start. All of the students of the St. Claire Academy kicks off with group photos with their classmates and even solo or with your special friends, this is a chance to take pictures with your close friends.

Mandy, Andy and I took a photo. This is the best memory that I keep forever with me. Mandy and Liam took a picture and there's a moment when Liam gets along with us to take a photo us, I may say he is not too bad, I think.

After a group photo and everyone is all done the dinner served is a buffet service the organizer doesn't allow liquor for this event. Liam and Mandy sat with us during the dinner and from afar.

I could see, Victoria is looking too furious and trying to be nice to his partner and another that catches my attention is Lucas. I saw him many times staring at me. Maybe he was just amazed too by my new appearance tonight.

I should thank Mandy for my total makeover. After an hour of dinner, all of the students are ready to party. I can't imagine how the Prom night was celebrated.

Prom is a dance usually the last dance of a senior student. This will be one last chance and dance with the other students. I enjoyed this Prom. There are times I flicked my fingers to change the colour of light and danced with us that all of the students enjoyed a lot. I danced all night with my fellow students and of course to Andy, who is my date for tonight. This is one of the best, happiest moments of being a teenager.

I take a seat when I feel my feet are tired, I get an orange drink before I go to my seat.

Not long after a love song was played everyone shuddered and again the couples went to the Hall and danced. I saw Liam and Mandy dancing again and Andy, who has a partner now dancing in the hall too.

I am very happy for both of them, they enjoyed the night as much as I did. Not long after I sat down, a young man approached me. I looked up when I saw that he was unfolding his palms in front of me.

"May I have this dance."

His voice was cold and his eyes were melting, I looked around and it was as if we were the only two there.

I held my hands to him and gave him a chance to dance with me. I don't want to look so arrogant in his eyes. But, this young man does not look familiar to me. I don't even see him in the St. Claire Academy.

He takes me in the hall and dances together with the other students. I can't stare at him so long or even nicely talk to him.

"You look beautiful tonight". As he started our conversation.

"Thanks, but are you a student of the St. Claire Academy too?"

"Yes." He answered quickly.

"But, I don't see you there and your face is not too familiar to me."

"But, I see you every day." My face gets redder from what he said.

"Your necklace looks beautiful as you are."

I look down and glance at my necklace.

"My mother gave this to me on my sixteenth birthday."

"Really?" He said and smiled a little.

His eyes are too sharp looking at me and I start to get afraid of what he shows in my oddity.

He suddenly holds the necklace that startles me and took his surprise. I move away from him and back to my seat, no one is holding my necklace.

"What's up with that man?"

I drink all the remaining orange juice because of Twitter, my necklace sparkles with a red light.

I suddenly hold my necklace and start to get uneasy. It is a sign of danger, but I am hoping it is not, maybe the power just gets reacted from what I feel.

It's like, I suddenly want to go home, I didn't realise that the dance was over and suddenly the whole area lit up.

I look for Mandy and Andy to tell us to go home. Andy just asked me what was happening but, I can't explain, I just said that I want to get a rest.

"It's okay, Thana let's finish the Prom in a few moments and I'll take you home."

I agreed with Andy to let the Prom finish, I just need to calm myself. I wonder why I feel this way and why Mia was not around me right now.

"Doesn't she feel what I felt now?"

I started when I heard my name. They applauded and they were all staring at me, Mandy smiled at me she motioned for me to go to the middle of the hall.

I don't have any idea what I will do in the middle of the hall. After a moment Lucas called too, and he is walking now to go in the middle of the hall and stands beside me.

What is it all about? I don't understand, I just smile and Vow in front of many people.

"Ladies and gentlemen the Prom King and Queen of the night Lucas Anderson and Thana Glasgow."

I heard the loud applause and they were all smiling. Mandy was too happy when I glanced at her and Andy was just looking at me and clapping his hands.

What is that King and Queen of the Prom? I just said to myself. Lucas came up to me and he held my hand and we danced sweetly. I don't know, but it seems like I suddenly became dutiful to him.

My knees are trembling and my hands are shaking. I haven't recovered from what happened a while ago.

"Relax, are you afraid of me? I won't bite you."

Lucas said to me and laughed a little.

"No, I'm sorry… I'm just… huh, never mind."

"I saw you in school every day and you look beautiful tonight…. Your short hair fits on you, you look cute."

"Thank you." My face gets redder from what Lucas said to me.

A moment passes and the music stops and Lucas lets go of me and we walk together away from the middle of the hall, he glances at me before he walks into the crowd.

It's two o'clock in the morning when I got home. I took a shower before I went to bed. Until this moment the man that danced with me can't get away in my mind, why he touches my necklace and his looks are too sharp, I felt that he had fangs that suddenly bite me.

I tried to sleep and forget about it. I closed my eyes and remembered the happy moments from the Prom.

Amherst's POV

I look at it from afar. I can see the home of witches and Thana. She is strange in my smell, she is fragrant.

I could smell her blood, fresh and thirsty. I wanted to suck every drop of his blood.

"You will be mine at the right time, Thana."
