Figure Out

Shawn didn't think much of his situation, everything was clear as day and even if they wanted to blame him for the incident they could not because of all the videos that have been circulating on the internet by now.

He followed the P.E. teacher to the Principal's office, when he got there he was called in by the principal, when he got in, he saw Jackson sitting in front of the principal with his hand wrapped up in bandages, anyone could tell that it was a serious injury.

Shawn then looked at the Principal, she is an old woman with wrinkles all over her face, one could easily estimate her age to be in the 80s and above, Shawn is surprised that this old woman is still alive and kicking.

He could see the death glare the old woman is giving him, he had the urge to smile as this is how he copes up under extreme situations but he controlled himself and tried not to smile.

"Mr. Barret, please have a seat"

The old principal said while pointing at the seat next to the one occupied by Jackson, Shawn looked at Jackson and saw him staring death glares at him, Shawn had another urge to laugh at his face but controlled himself.

He sat down and looked at the principal waiting for her to start ranting about discipline, the university's image, and how students have to be responsible for their actions, and just as he expected, she went on a very long and tiering rant.

Even though Shawn wasn't feeling tired he felt like yawning but he controlled himself once again, as for Jackson he couldn't control himself and yawned which caused the principal to go another round with her rant.

Shawn got so bored that he got lost in his own thoughts once again, the rant soon came to an end and the principal asked for both Shawn and Jackson to apologize to each other.

When Shawn heard this, it ticked him off, he did nothing wrong so he has no reason to apologize and he expressed it.

"Sorry Mrs. Smith but I won't apologize as I did nothing wrong, I guess you might have already seen the video circulating the internet, Jackson initiated the attack and I didn't even hit him back, I just dodged them, I won't be apologizing for anything"

Shawn said.

The principal kept her words to herself but she was not pleased with Shawn's attitude but she couldn't fault him, he was correct, Jackson was in the wrong here and there was proof and multiple witnesses.

No matter how influential Jackson's parents are the principal can't afford to be partial when everything is right in front of everyone or she will risk putting the university in a bad view.

She then looked at Jackson and glared at him, she was fed up with this troublemaker, Jackson has been causing a lot of scenes in the university from day one and the university helped him many times because of his parents but this time there is no escape.

"Jackson, why did you attack Shawn here?"

She asked.

Jackson didn't answer and just angrily glared at Shawn, well he couldn't tell the principal that he attacked Shawn because he felt jealous that he talked to his girlfriend.

He was dumb but not that dumb, he knows he will get in more trouble if he said that so he decided to stay quiet, seeing that Jackson has no intention to speak the principal could just sigh in exhaustion, she was done with these troublemakers.

"Jackson Wester, you are suspended for a week for initiating violence inside the campus, as for Shawn, I have nothing for you since you are innocent and the victim, just make sure to not cause any trouble. You both can leave"

The Principal said. Shawn nodded and got off his seat.

"I will be leaving then, have a nice day Mrs. Smith"

He said with a smile and walked out of the principal's office, as for Jackson he is fuming as he couldn't do anything and he even broke his arm.

He promised himself that he will have his revenge on Shawn no matter what.

Shawn made his way out of the campus and back to his house, so many things happened today, he discovered that he has superspeed but he still has some doubts about it, he wants to make sure that there are no side effects for this power he suddenly received.

He arrived at his house and noticed that his mom is back with the same dude from before, they are snuggling with each other on the couch, Shawn clicked his tongue and decided to ignore them, he went up to his room and locked his door, and sat down on his bed.

He then tried to trigger his superspeed again, at first he didn't understand how to do so, he could feel it, something moving inside his body but he has no understanding of it.

He closed his eyes and thought about the time he spent in a coma, though it was only a day in the real world, Shawn felt like he spent his whole life in that darkness but he also knew that he was not alone in that darkness, he could feel microparticles moving around him at extreme speed and he could control them.

He tried to replicate the same thing he did in his consciousness but this time he tried to apply it to those things inside his body and as soon as he made the connection to those things, his surroundings quieted down, he could feel the change in his surrounding.

He opened his eyes and the only thing that greeted him was silence, he could hear nothing, he noticed the dust particles in the air and they are still as they could be, he got up from his bed and walked towards the window to look outside and to his expectation, everything had stopped, well not stopped but to him, it looked like nothing was moving at all or moving so slowly that it didn't matter to him.

Seeing that his experiment worked, he tried to disconnect himself with his powers again, at first it didn't work as the world still didn't move for him, he closed his eyes again to concentrate and severe the connection between his consciousness and those things inside his body and he was successful.

His ears were suddenly assaulted with different types of sounds, the roaring of the engines from vehicles, people talking to each other, the sound and vibrations of their phones, he could hear everything.

'Wait, I can hear more than before'

He suddenly realized that he could hear better than before, it was not just his perspective over time that has improved but also his five senses as well, his eyesight seems to be much better, he is able to hear things from far away that should no be possible, he could smell things that he wouldn't have noticed before, he could feel the texture of the window's railings as he was touching them with his hands.

'This all seems too good to be true, I need to tell Professor Newmon about this'

Shawn thought.

By now anyone would be escapist if they had powers similar to Shawn's but Shawn was not like others, having grown up all alone he learned to be wary of everything so even when things are going good for him, he doubted it sometimes.

He trusted only two people in his whole life, Professor Newmon, and Marcus, even though Shawn has some other friends, he didn't blindly trust them.

Shawn decided to rest for the day and think about it tomorrow and visit Professor Newmon to tell him about his conditions.
