4 Union

Chroma is the name for the color energy in the world of Zigma. It gave everything color and emotion. It exists in everything in this world, however, there is close to none that have the ability to absorb Chroma from something.

An example of this is ZIX, it can absorb chroma of an object and remove its color, it also has the ability to bring color to almost anything.

When all Chroma is absorbed from a living being, they will lose all emotion and color in their body. Such thing as happiness, sadness, fury, and love are robbed from the being. It's almost the same as dying, they cannot even experience suffering and despair. There is only emptiness that can't even be felt.

A long time ago there was a researcher named Mimir who discovered that when a living being dies, its chroma is transferred to the being that slain it. This brings the realization and the concept of levels. After receiving a required amount of Chroma, a person gains a small boost in their S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

-Strength allows the person to gain a strong physical body, enhancing their power.

-Perception increases the person's accuracy, reaction speed, and battle sense.

-Endurance gives increased regeneration speed and reduces the damage inflicted on the body while having a more healthy body.

-Coordination allows the person to synchronize with other people easily, having more sense of direction, and being able to use Abilities in quick succession.

-Intelligence gives the person more Mana, Magical strength, and enhanced memory.

-Agility allows the person to move and attack more quickly.

-Luck is a trait that makes people more fortunate and allows them to get in more favorable situations.

Shortly after this discovery, Mimir created a device called the Chroma Plate. It displays the name of the owner, the elemental affinity, and the level of the user, all on a panel that's only visible to the owner.

"Ah, I read so much it's already night?" Akoru said and followed up with a yawn.

After Akoru read the books in the library, he headed to the Guild to get some Quest. He didn't have enough money to buy food, so he had to do something.

[Deliver the Package to the White Clan's Castle. Reward: 5 Gold coins]

'Wow! This quest is so easy but has so much reward'

Akoru grabs the poster and asks Trish about the package that needs to be delivered.

He walks around the town and enjoys the scenery of the city. Every building is uniquely designed. Each of them only having a single color, but many shades. The walk to his destination is still far, so he started walking faster.

...

Akoru's jaws almost dropped at the sight of the White Clan's Castle. It's almost sparkling with how clean it is, and to top it off, it's almost all white, if not for the plants adding color. He walks towards the castle and sees many guards on a large gate.

"You there, what is your purpose for coming here?"

Akoru grabs the Quest paper from his pocket and shows it to the guard.

"OK. You may enter"

As Akoru went inside, he noticed that there was another castle inside, a black one, it's as black as black gets. The garden was so wide, trees, flowers and even a small pond was there.

When he got near the castle, the door opened and a seemingly important person wearing a hat and noble-looking clothes came out.

It was a half eagle-half human. Akoru asked if they were one of the White Family. Akoru showed the Quest paper and gave the package. The man stared at Akoru for a few seconds.

As the moon revealed itself from behind the clouds, a little ray of light shone on Akoru's head. The man noticed a strand of Akoru's hair shining, displaying every color in the spectrum. He grabbed the package and gave the 5 gold coins.

Akoru left the castle grounds and went straight to Diona's Tavern to spend the night.

"Ah, I can finally rest. I have to check out something that I learned in the books tomorrow."

Akoru slept through the night.

The morning came and Akoru headed to the Guild. Inside, he sees a group of people, they're all wearing clothes that seem to have an insignia attached to it. The insignia has a symbol that resembles a pine tree.

"Everyone. We will clear until Floor 40. Make sure you have everything you need, " An Elf that seems to be the leader said." We'll leave at noon."

"Roger!" Everyone answered.

Akoru approaches the group, curious of what they're doing. He goes to ask the leader. At a closer look you'll see that the elf is at least 6"5', has long jade-green hair, pointy ears, light blue eyes and a pretty intimidating face.

"Uh… Excuse me." He said. "Where are you going? Is this like a dungeon raid or something?"

"Who are you?" the captain asked.

"I am Akoru Silva. I'm just a new adventurer"

Some people from the group stared at Akoru and started murmuring.

"Hey, He's talking to the captain"

"He doesn't know, does he?"

"There's no way he'll speak like that to the captain if he knew"

The captain silenced the group with an intense glare.

"I see. I'm Alviero, this union's captain," the captain answered. "Exactly. We're going to clear dungeon floors"

A Union is a group that can be composed of people from different clans. They make unions to prevent discrimination from clans and to gather people who have the same goals.

"Can I come with you?" Akoru asked. "I haven't seen the dungeon yet and I want to know where it is"

"What level are you?" the captain asked.

Akoru brings his Chroma plate out and checks. He's currently level 1.

"Oh! I'm Level 1"

"I see. Level 1… You're going to be a burden to us." Alviero replied. "We're going to the further floors and a low level adventurer like you will be exposed to a ton of danger."

"Please! I want to go to the dungeon," Akoru requested.

"Fine. If you want to go, you can go, but if you get injured, we won't come to your aid," Alviero threatened, but Akoru's face doesn't display fear, instead he looked happy.

"I understand! Thank you" Akoru happily said.

"Then go at the outer gate at noon. We'll be meeting there."

The scorching midday sun shone brightly on the capital. The union was on the move towards the dungeon. They're heading east, passing through a wide grassland with soaring mountains in the distance. Warm breeze passes through here and there and dandelions floats through the air.

After travelling for 5 minutes, Akoru's mind started filling up with questions. He talks to a bearded middle-aged man that's heavily armored and carries a pretty enormous axe.

"Uh… How many floors are in this dungeon?" Akoru asked. "I've heard the captain say that you'll try to get to Floor 40'.

"Oh! The dungeon, huh? From what I've heard there was 200 Floors in the dungeons,' The man answered. "But the current high ranked adventurers only got to Floor 85.

"High ranked adventurers?"

"You didn't know?" the man asked Akoru, as if it was common knowledge to know who the top adventurers are. "Our captain is one of them"

"Ehh?! Really?" Akoru exclaimed.

"Yeah, He's the Top 2 ranker," the man replied. "That's why the others were shocked when you talked that way to the captain. He only ever talks like that to Jack, "

'Jack, huh? Wait, is he sent here too?' Akoru hoped that his best friend Jack was sent to this world along with him.

"Jack?" he asked.

"Oh! The Top 1 adventurer. Jack Crimson, that guy can cause a disaster in the capital if he ever turns evil. He's said to be the one who cleared floor 80 to 85 alone."

"Eh? What level is he?"

"He's above level 90 from what I heard."

"That's so high." Akoru sighed. "What about the other high ranked adventurers?"

"Oh, the other high ranked ones?"

Rank 10, Noah Coloneo, he's a Fox-man, specializes in using Three Sword Style. The third strongest swordsman.

Rank 9, Atreus White, he's great in using Light Magic Combined with his Swordsmanship.

Rank 8, Derek Goldenrod, the strongest mage adventurer, he's rumored to be able to slay dragons on his own.

Rank 7, Andrel Canary, known as "Yellow Lightning" or "The Fastest Swordsman".

Rank 6, Selena Chartreuse, a Half-Elf, specializes in her super-efficient mass healing.

Rank 5, Diego Azure, uses a Lancer combined with his Ice Magic.

Rank 4 & 3, The Umber Twins, both of them are Half-dwarves. Gorbu and Bugor. They both wield dual axes with their mud-earth combo.

Rank 2, Alviero Jade, an Elf. He uses a Bow and Magic arrows that are infused with plant magic.

Rank 1, Jack Crimson. He uses a Two-Handed Broadsword along with his insane Fire Magic Spells. Some people call him "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamite". "

"Why is the Third strongest swordsman lower than the Light Sword user?" Akoru wondered.

"Oh, that? It's because Atreus levels up faster than him. But Atreus hasn't beaten Noah in a sword fight. Not even once."

"Really? I'm learning so much from you."

"Hehe, Don't mind it. Most people already know what I'm telling you." The man replied, following up with a fairly loud laugh.

"Really! Then I'm just the one missing out?"

"Probably. Haha! "

An hour has passed, and they reached the dungeon. There was an enormous gate that stands about 20 feet high. It was made of iron bars that were half as thick as Akoru, supported by two huge concrete pillars on both sides. There were guards outside, and inside was a large concrete door that seems to be the entrance. Menacing aura was coming from the dungeon entrance.

Akoru gulped out of excitement.
