6 The Aces

Miss Alixa led the children to a large brick red wall that was overrun by ivy and roses. She stopped to remove a pen from her pocket. the pen was sky blue. It was also quite thick and it had a clear cut diamond on the top. She tapped the wall with it 3 times, then two times the final time she tapped it, Huilang watched wide-eyed as the ivy and roses parted like curtains and the red bricks shifted to create a doorway. Ms Alixia stepped aside to let the children through: "These are your private quarters and his Highness prince Longwei, Huiliang and Meiying will meet me here again at this entrance in an hour." she said before turning and walking away.

Hauliang had been paying so much awe-filled attention to the stern Miss Alixa that she had not noticed her surroundings until the cold woman left. It was a rectangular room as big as her father's house. The room was brightly lit with vintage diamond chandeliers that hung on the sky blue coloured ceiling looking like snowfall as they basked in the golden rays. Pale blue velvet curtains hung beside the long windows across the walls and the crystal glass allowed rays of nature's light to enter from beyond.

On one side of the room, two blue antique couches stood opposite sides of each on a hand-woven sea blue rug in front of an ashen marble fireplace, accompanied by rich blue velvet and gold wing-chairs that stood as sidekicks. The white and gold-rimmed vase that sat on the marble centre table blooming with hydrangea, blue orchid and white lily and arrangement matching the beautiful blue aesthetic.

Along here were paintings of different places in Astiadore on the walls some which Huiliang recognised and others which she didn't. She gasped as she took in her surroundings. Instead of feeling overpowered by the sheer beauty, that she certainly wasn't used to after living in the basement most of her life, she felt quite comforted and at home as the room had a warm feeling to it like it was giving her a big hug as she entered like it was greeting her. Along one of the other walls was a bookcase that completely covered it. Along another wall stood 12 exquisite white doors with golden frames stood with an air of elegance and mystery.

One of the doors opened and a pretty, tall girl in a sakura pink hoodie, that had the school crest and her initials embroidered on the front, and white jeans came out of the room. "Huizhong your back! How was your break? did you miss me, I can't believe we're already third-years?" the girl blabbered on and on about random things but the crown princess smiled but did not seem to return the enthusiasm. But Huiliang could see that the crown princess' eyes were filled with excitement and joy. she could see that although the princes did not show it, she delighted the see her best friend and companion again and was very thrilled to be back in school.

'Wow, princess Huizhong is really amazing. She is so young but she is already so cultured and well-mannered. Her personality seems lovely and she is also an elegant and graceful natural beauty, as expected from a princess. Maybe one day I can become like her.' Huiliang thought to herself. Although the royals were famous throughout the land of Astiadore she knew little to nothing about them apart from the oldest Prince Goutin because of her half sister's affiliation. Huiliang smiled as she remembered her sisters blushing face as she ranted on about how handsome she thought he was.

Now you can see that although Huiliang relationship with her stepmother was far from perfect, she loved her sister who stood up to her stepmother when she was beating her or giving her food when her stepmother had locked her up and starved her for a couple of days she always made sure her big sister never went the night hungry. When her father shunned Huiliang because she reminded him of his dead wife, she was there to comfort her. Because of her kindness towards Huiliang not only did the two grow close but I meant that Huiliang was happy and willing to give up a lot for her sister. Even though she didn't have much she would do all she could to make her sister happy and give her what she wanted.

Another girl came out of one of the rooms holding an empty mug, cutting Huiliang's train of thought as she spoke, "Hi, what are your names?" She asked. She was also wearing a hoodie like the other girl that had dragged the princess away but hers was a deep bloody red colour. "My name is Mo Qiaolian. I am a fourth-year student and I am truly quite charmed to meet all of you." she asked the small group with a smile, "My mother, the woman that brought you here has already asked me to show you how things are done around here and help you settle in." she said with a radiant, welcoming smile.
