1 Nothing Special

"Ma'am, are you sure that it is the right decision to give this child the scholarship? Normally gifted children's gifts start to manifest on the day they turn 16, but the child is almost 20 and there is no sight of magical ability to be seen." A lofty woman in an elegant robe spoke in a worried tone, her face contorted into what looked like confusion and distress. She looked like she was in her late 40s and had a dignified and opulent air to her. Next to her sat a stout woman with an amused look on her face as she glanced at the woman next to her. She let out a hearty laugh when she saw the younger woman's expression.

"When have I ever been wrong? Yes, it is said that she has not manifested any ability yet, but I sense something far greater than is visible within her. I have a notion that fate has a red string tied around her finder pulling her to greater things that even the late queen never achieved before her untimely death."

"Ma'am please reconsider." the tall woman said after a moments thought. although she believed that the older woman had her view on the topic but she still couldn't understand how this insignificant 19-year-old had caught the eye of the third most talented person in the whole land.

"I have made up my mind. You may know I have thought this through. Go ahead and send out the acceptance forms to the three children I have mentioned. Make sure to deliver the special childs letter personally and that she understands what is happening. You will be held accountable. Please do not disappoint me. I do hope to be able to see the child myself."

"Yes, Mrs Agacia." the other woman said regaining her composure and setting her facial expression back to its usual stern and sharp look. she walked out of the headmasters' office.

She took to a small pen from her pocket and drew a small circle in front of her, as she drew the end of the pen started to glow leaving a cyan light trail in its wake. "Lanuae Magicae" she chanted, disappearing into thin air.
