5 Chapter 4: Trial Start

I was determined and I felt like nothing could stand in my way. But what is this?

After facing that God I was teleported back to that room with the alter. That was now a room filled with Dread rats at level 30!

Is this dungeon rigged?

Right now the only thing separating me from those snarling drooling monsters was the ring of fire that circled the alter.

This is supposed to be my trial? Die by these high level freaks?

I'm doomed!!

Text Box: Trial will Begin.

Trial: Find the right exit to the treasure room

Duration Time: 1 hour

Penalty: Death

What the hell?! Just an hour to clear this trial? I'm sure that God jerk is trying to kill me.

Text: Ring of Protection will disappear in 10 seconds

Time Clock: 10

Wait!

Time Clock: 9

I'm not ready.

Time Clock: 6

Is this really how I die?

I watch desperately as the time clicked down to 1.

Text: Ring of Protection has been deactivated

New Time Clock: 1:00:00

Watching the glowing fire disappear that signaled the start of my trial was hard on its own.

The only thing I could do was run around the room.

What the hell is this?

There's not a single door in this room, how am I supposed to find the exit?

I doubt it's the same door I came through, so where the hell is it?

I have level 30 Dread Rats chasing after me right now, so the situation was out of my control.

Tsk!

Am I thinking too much?

Should I just go out the door I came in?

No. That's not it!

What if the key to my survival isn't an obvious exit?

Could this be testing my intelligence and not my combat.?

Not that I have any skill in combat to begin with.

But I have confidence in my intelligence, though.

As I thought this a few Dread Rats came at me at once one of them swiping it's huge paw at me.

I barely dodged as it managed to scratch my arm.

I gripped it as blood seeped a bit through my fingers.

Shit, that could have been my whole arm. If I'm not careful I could really die here.

I didn't stop running though, but I was beginning to lose my breath.

My stamina wasn't the best since I never leave the house, nor exercise. But right now I must keep running until I find the exit.

Huff!

Huff!

The sound of my breathing has began to slow and I was now stumbling a bit as I ran.

I don't know if I can keep this up.

The exit, I must find the exit.

Time Clock: 0:55:00

Damn, I can't keep this up. I won't find the answer if I keep running around like this.

One can see Anae's hair flowing behind her as she skid to a complete stop.

Why?

Because now she was surrounded by the Level 30 Dread Rats.

Looks like...huff...I won't....huff....make it.

I stumbled a bit again , my breathing now shallow.

All I wanted was to become a player, to get stronger, I stared at the alter, was this really it for me?

The back of the alter made me suddenly think in this dire situation of mine.

It was not an obvious exit but...could it have been that simple?

My mind is clear now, but the fact that I was surrounded by many Dread Rats could make my next move entirely risky.

But...I gripped the torch that was still lit in my hand. All I need to do is cause another explosion directed at the Dread Rats that lead to the alter.

Here goes nothing!

I lit the torch with my lighter once more and this time I threw it directly at the Dread rats leading to the alter. It was enough to cause an explosion.

There!

I dashed right past the blinded rats with the last bit of stamina that I had in my scrawny little body.

I'll be sure to get healthy after this if I want to become an outstanding player.

For now I'll pass this damn trial!

I rushed forward and stepped onto the alter.

Though it was not obvious, it was my only answer.

I reached towards the back of the altar's stone, pressing the back with my palm.

All the Dread Rat's running towards me and a few jumping in my direction.

Come on!

Suddenly the stone glowed and this time the light that came out was a glowing yellow ring that flooded the whole room killing every Dread Rat in sight.

Once the light died down the sound of rumbling caught my attention.

I turned to find another door opening to the right, the one I came into was on the other side of the room.

I did it!

I made my way to the door and stepped through. It closed behind me immediately.

Accept? or Reject?

I press accept, after all what kind of stupid question was that?!

Haha...hahaha!

Finally I'll become a player!

A bright green light surrounds me and I could feel a sensation so strong flowing throughout my body.

It was the feeling of power.
