3 Chapter 2: Dungeon in the Basement

Basement of Song Residence

A close up view of a small crack slowly becoming bigger on the basement floor.

The ground begins to shake and a hole that begins to shoot out bright light takes shape.

One can see the bright light shooting through the roof of the house.

The view of rubble on the basement floor as the sight of a hole above the anomaly is seen.

Japanese Secret Tracking Guild

"President, there's a strange anomaly appearing in the Western district of Tokyo! Looks like a dungeon forming! Should we call in the forces?" A woman with a tight bun and glasses rushes into an office.

Established shot of a man's shadowed figure, half of his face is illuminated in light. He's a man with a crude and well shaped jaw. His short white hair shines a bit and his yellow-brown eyes glowed fiercely.

One can see him sitting at his desk with his hands clasped before him, resting his chin on his clasped hands, "what is the dungeon level?" He asked.

"It's unknown sir, it could be risky to leave this one alone." The woman answers.

She was clearly nervous by this man's overwhelming mana force.

"I see, an unknown dungeon appearing like this. Alright, have the forces check it out." He says.

There was a slight silence.

"Is there something else, Secretary Han?" He asked with annoyance.

She gulps, one can see the slight tremble in her hands, "well you see, the dungeon appearing is in someone's house." She says.

He glares, a pool of his red mana seeping from his body, "So?" He asked.

"N-never mind, President I shall send the forces!" She bows her head before rushing back out of the office.

Lin Wa, President of the tracking Guild known as, "Snouters." Level 140.

"Looks like something interesting might happen." He mutters leaning back into his chair and turning his head to look out the window behind him.

Back at Song Residence

"My daughter!" Rina cried as she and her husband sat on the sofa of the living room.

One can see ten people dressed in black with guns standing before the couple.

"Sir, looks like the ceiling collapsed in one of the bedrooms. Apparently it was the bedroom of one of their daughters'." One of the men says after doing a check.

Another men came up from the basement, "there's nothing we can do but wait. The ceiling collapsed on the dungeon, but that's not all it only allows one player to enter." He says.

"But my daughter is not a player!" Rina cries.

"Not a player? That's impossible! Only Players are allowed to enter dungeons, it's been like that ever since the dungeons started appearing!" The same man yells in shock.

"Well it did happen! Find my daughter and get her out of there! If she dies I will personally sue your asses!" The father rages standing and grabbing on of the men by the collar.

"Stand down! We can only wait. I'm sorry sir, but if your daughter makes it out then that's impressive, but if she dies the dungeon will reopen for a new player to enter. It's all we can do." Captain of the Tracker Forces, Misaka Hiyato says as he enters the house.

Rina wells up with tears and buries her face into her husbands chest, "no! My sweet Anae!" She cries loudly.

Meanwhile Dungeon Entrance

Uggh, what the hell happened?

I opened my eyes to find darkness around me, from the feel of things I was lying on a concrete ground. The last thing I remember is playing video games in my room and then the ground started to shake. After that I was falling through the floor. I must have passed out due to the impact.

Sits up

Shit, it hurts. I held my leg that took the most damage, it felt a bit strained from the fall, but I believe I can still stand and walk.

I wonder where I am? It's really hard to see.

I blinked when a see through blue projector screen appeared before my very eyes.

Unauthorized Entity has entered Underground Dungeon, Level 1

Entity is not a player, if Entity unlocks the hidden quest then it can become a player.

Does the Entity wish to proceed through the dungeon?

ACCEPT? or REJECT?

Wait. Am I seeing this right?

Did this really just say I landed in a dungeon and that I had a chance to become a player? Is that something that's possible?

I sat there completely dumbfounded. I must be dreaming right?

Wouldn't this be my chance to change, to become someone great?

I stared at the two glowing buttons, why am I hesitating?

I pressed the accept button, another box appears

Box Text: Message

Entity has accepted, in order to continue forward Entity will receive simple

tools to get started. A torch, lighter, rope, and a pouch.

Beside me these tools appeared in a little pile. I reached for the items and without hesitation stuffed the rope in the pouch and tied the pouch to my pants.

Next I grabbed the lighter to light the torch and then stuffed the lighter in the pouch as well.

The room was now illuminated by the torches light, that's when another box appeared:

Text: Rat Hill Dungeon

Rat hill? Sounds easy enough, hopefully they aren't too big.

Alright, I got this! Here I come!

I took my first step and began making my way out of the dungeon's entrance and through the tunnel.
