7 CAN'T LOSE YOU, BESTIE

Aimscious spent the whole night awake , calling and texting Lilia but no answer or reply .She was so worried about her.

Her eyes were bloating out with tears. Her mind , consumed with thoughts and scenes from what transpired between Mart and Lilia at the volley ball court– She was so shut within. She thought to herself ,

How can I face both of them at school tomorrow.

She was so lost in her thought that she didn't know when she fell asleep.

"Lilia, please ,don't go! – You can't leave me all alone in this dark tunnel with these scary people. Please save me" She cried.

Lilia spontaneously pushed Aimscious down as she gazed at her with so much evil in her eyes. Aimscious cried out in pain– her surprised gaze swiftly fell on Lilia's face.

She didn't understand the look on her face.

"Why are you looking at me like this Li– Pls

help me." She finally cried out in sobs after regaining her composure.

" Kill her." Her voice echoed, ordering the men holding unto Aimscious. " I don't want to see her ever in my life– You took what belongs to me, Aims and I won't forgive you for that."

She turned, leaving her in the tunnel to her faith with the masked men. Aimscious screamed as she watched her back disappear into the darkness.

" Li, please....!" She howled, her voice echoed through the tunnel as she struggled to free herself.

"It's not what you think...Li! "

Aimscious struggled out of her sleep with tensed and sweaty, pale face. She felt weak and startled– her eyes danced with anxiety as she looked out of the glass window. It was already day break; she sighed, a sense of relieve swept through her face as she draped off the bed.

" Thank God, its just another nightmare–" She mumbled but then, a thought hit her. "Will Lilia go that far with this issue?" She verbalised her confusion with a creased brow.

" I've got to talk to her about what happened– But what if she doesn't believe me?" She asked but then snubbed off the thought.

"No, I know Li – She'll surely believe me."

She mumbled as she continued her pace towards the bathroom. Just then, a voice called from behind the door.

"Aimscious ! – are you done? We're getting late for school. The bus will soon be here." Betty called.

"Almost! , I'll be down soon." She swiftly answered, rushing off the bathroom .

After a cold shower, and fully dressed up– She joined the rest downstairs for breakfast. Soon, after the meal, the bus arrived and the hurried out.

" See you later, mum!" Betty called back and Solidad smiled.

"Alright love, have a nice day!"

SCHOOL PREMISES

Aimscious hastily got off the bus, all cheerful; expecting to meet Lilia as usual but to her surprise, she wasn't waiting at the gate as she used to. She couldn't believe it.

"Is this really happening?" She thought as she stood rooted in her steps.

"Hey, are you okay?– What are you looking for? You seem lost. Won't you join your friends for class?" Nicole asked, drawing her attention.

She forced a smile with feigned ignorance. "Oh I'm okay– Going now, bye"

She waved at Betty and Nicole and sauntered off. Betty glanced at her back and back at Nicole, skeptical.

"Are you sure all is well with her– She's being been behaving off since yesterday"

Nic sighed, "Well, I guess so– I'm sure she'll share if she can't handle. Let's get going"

Betty stared with hesitation before finally, racing off after Nicole who was a few meters ahead.

"Hey, wait up " She mumbled.

Aimscious on the other hand, went searching for Lilian, round the entire school but met with seer disappointed as she seemed invisible. She became so depressed and didn't know what else to do

"Where could she be? –Oh gosh " She groaned with a frown of tiredness. " Please be safe" she sighed.

Just then, the bell went off for lesson. She hastened off to the class, lost in thought. She was literally zooming out of space that she didn't hear Mart call.

"Hey , Aimscious !" He tapped her which made her flinch. "Oh, Mart, you scared me" She cried.

" So sorry, i've been calling like forever but you seem off" He explained as he gasped on his breath.

" Why–what's wrong with you? Why so lost in thoughts?"

"Oh, nothing– I'm fine , sorry for getting you worried" As if on an impulse, she swiftly asked. " Have you seen Lilia ? I've been looking for her throughout the entire campus."

" Yeah, she's already in class– Come on, let's get in now before our teacher comes in. "

She instinctively bobbed her head in response, masking up her shock with a smile. As they sauntered in, Mart asked.

"Um, Aims, what happened yesterday– You didn't return as you promised neither did i see you afterwards"

She fidgeted, masking up an excuse. "Oh, um, yeah, there was an emergency so I had to rush out, sorry for that." She stuttered and hastened off to her seat without waiting for him to say anything further. She turned and noticed Lilia,who was already in her desk.

“Is she ignoring me?” She thought to herself but couldn't clear her doubts since lesson had begun.

Aimscious waited patiently for lunch break so could approach Lilia to address the issue. She just sat in class absent minded– All she heard was the sound of the bell .

She instantly turned, searching for Lilia but she was no where to be found. She was stunned.

“What?–where did she go?”

Without hesitation, she hastened out of the class towards the canteen where she knew she could definitely be. Lucky enough, she found her already seated with her lunch. She was delighted, her lips curved in a faint smile as she heaved a sigh of relieve.

She sauntered over and hugged her from the back and caused her to flinch.

“ Oh, Li, you don't know how happy I am to meet you here– I've been looking all over for you " She stated as she settled down on an empty chair across the table.

“What do you want Aimscious?– Just leave me alone.” She shouted with rage, which brought the gazes of the student present on them. Aimscious was startled and stunned at her attitude but then, the gazes on them caught her attention. She instinctively turned with a sheepish smile and bobbed her head, apologetically.

“Sorry– Please don't mind us" She mumbled and everyone returned to their meals to which she turned back to Lilia with a sorry look.

“Please, Li, i-----” She cried but Lilia snapped in.

“I don't want to see you, leave .... me ... alone.” She sobbed and Aimscious felt guilty; she instinctively hugged her.

“ Can't leave you like this, Li...., Please.” She exuded with tears in her eyes.“ I know how you feel now. Don't let this cause the diminish of the friendship we've built for so long. I just can't lose you , bestie. ”

Lilia thought for a while and hugged Aimscious back, a wolfish glare, dazzled on her face and she smirked.

“I'm sorry Aims, for acting like this. I know I shouldn't have acted the way I did–It's not your fault. " She affirmed. “Love you bestie.”

She smiled. “Love you too Li–You deserve an ice cream for that. Let me get you one , I'll be right back.”

She rushed off to the ice cream shop, all cheerful.

Lilia glared at her back and chortled.

“Sorry bestie, but no one takes my item and goes scot free for that.... Prepare for the worst, for you have bitten more than you can chew”
