Spare Me, Great Lord!

So the novel itself is great. It has an interesting world, great characters, actually good writing and translation quality. However..... Translation update speed and especially the translator's bizarre decision to keep skipping chapters and instead translate the follow ups are incredibly annoying. Not sure why he/she is taking that route but it's ridiculous.

I really enjoy this novel but i just cant stand how i updates very slowly and even when it does update the chapters are wrong currently chapter 305 is 308 and 306 is 311 i thing something seriously has to be done with the translators problem as this is not the first time this has happened

this is one of those novels you smirk while reading the chapter, and when you get to the end you realize you have been smiling the entire time.

This novel is about a weak and sickly orphan, named Lu Shu who survived the tragic Truck-san Scenario. Thanks to his Walnut (and Truck-san’s lil effort) He was saved and he awakened his powers. This guy can level up his powers by absorbing distress points caused by him from others. He’s got a Loli by his side named Lu Xiaoyu who grew up with him in the orphanage. The Loli is obviously a minor who ran away from the orphanage and stucked herself with Lu Shu in a small apartment cuz he is the only one she considers somewhat a relative. Don’t fret cuz the Loli is not the annoying type. She’s rather obedient and its only towards Lu Shu. For now, their relationship is a beautiful Familial Love. I think the story’s got good potential but I dont like that the MC’s so undecisive. He says he wants to give celestial fruit but then he explains that he’s not going to give it. He says he’s gonna test his powers but he wasnt even trying. He says he wants to do this and that but then he explains that he wont do it. The chapter is wasted on him explaining lots of useless stuff. I dunno why but He’s too Paranoid! Every single detail that he will see wether online or in real life. He will create theories on why do they do this, Why did they think that, why did they create it etc.etc then he answers it himself. Im already at chapter 97 but till now nothing special happened, Well at least not yet. I’ll give the World Background 4 stars for it was explained pretty well. At least for me, i understood it. The only questionable thing was if the Metahumans have long existed in his world. And some just only awakened cuz of some sort of phenomenon. Then why is Lu Shu Different? He only awakend his powers when Truck-san killed him..then he got revived by his walnut that granted him power. I hope it will be revealed in the future chappies. Story Development’s only a 3 star cuz The story is really really slow-paced. And even until Chapter 97, i havent seen important events happen. Its like im watching a-normal-yet-not-so-normal daily life of someone. Also, the MC’s got no Will nor Conviction. He was bound in his small world, where there’s only him and Lu Xiaoyu. No One Can Enter. Stability of Update is a 4 stars. Sometimes you randomly get many chapters, sometimes theres only 2. I guess you wouldnt really call it stable.😂 Translation Quality is 4 stars. Its good. Its readable. I’ll give Character’s Design a 3 Stars cuz the MC is so Undecisive and he keeps on going back and forth between doing it and not doing it. Wanting it and not wanting it. Giving it and not giving it. And he’s too carefull and untrusting towards others. He’s suspicios towards almost everyone. Also the other characters werent really explained much. They are just gonna show up when the MC’s there. And the MC will once again create his theories and speculations about them. Anyway 3.5 stars is my overall rate. I’ll just gonna change it if some good progress happens in the future chapters. Im gonna keep on reading it cuz this story’s theme is quite interesting. Distress Points? The plot was really nice however the ending felt too rushed.

It's a decent story, and I like the characters, but main character, an orphan who's main goal is to look out only for himself and his "sister", becomes extremely patriotic at some point. His system sometimes tells him people's names and whenever he notices a foreign name he decides that the person in question is a spy, and hunts them down in cold blood. He's also uncharacteristically eager to join the military. Whatever happened to his self preservation?

Let's start with the obvious. This book is amazing. The way the world developed from beginning to the last arc, was done splendidly. Character development was also done well, albeit not perfectly. There truly was comedy in this, and it brought a joy to the heart that made one feel as though it truly were an interaction between brothers and dear friends. Now to the more obvious. The story lacked very much in answering questions, relieving doubts, and introducing wholesome romance. In fact, it truly lacked romance to begin with. After about 85%-90%, the story began to feel rushed. Extremely rushed. So even though the book truly brought a joy to the heart, it as well, left a gaping hole. There was no closure, even though the ending was pleasant, it left too much to the void of space. There was no word on how Lu and Xiaoyu continued their lives. Coral wasn't even mentioned, Tear Tricker wasn't even mentioned. None of the Puppet Masters were given closure. In short, the ending felt empty. What should have been said, was not said. What should have been seen, was not seen.

One of the funniest novels I've read in webnovel. However there are lots of elements that are very similar to other light novel stories but the way the story is delivered would help you to read another chapter then again another...

The start of the story translation was so horrible that ruin the story I couldn't even read the book but it gets better which is 400+ chapters in. The plot armor in this book is too powerful the MC is always cautious and it feels like in every disadvantage he always somehow finds a way to come out on top not that I am complaining though. Other than that the story and character are pretty well done. What I loved is that the MC trolls others so hard which the only way he earns points to exchange in the system.

The story is great and funny so far, really like how the MC thinks. However I feel that starting around chapter 240-250 the translation quality drops sharply, from being somewhat decent translation to something close to MT-ed then quickly grammar checked with office word. I'm at there at the moment, I don't know if the quality gets back up or not, you tell me.

I’m coming from “The First Order” and I’ve had this story in my library for 2 years without touching it now. I’m gonna go ahead and give this a 5 star because I believe it’ll be amazing. I’m on chapter 8 and the MC already reminds me of Ren Xiaosu.

The best and the most interesting story so far well in my opinion. It really caught my interest in reading though im a lazy reader😁😁😁😂. Kudos to the author!

This book has quickly become one of my favorites. In the end, I read the rest of the novel on MTL due to the momentum and my impatience, and... *SPOILER* *SPOILER* *SPOILER* *SPOILER* I don’t know if I’m content with the ending. Sure, the ending was better than the likes of UGW, but still... The author barely even focused on Lu Shu in the end. There was the final battle, lots of deaths, and finally 10 paragraphs of postscript monologue surrounding Nie Ting. And the romance. I’m not particular about romance in Xianxia novels, as well as this novel since it’s mainly centered around comedy, but can the author at least bring closure to Lu’s relationship between Carol or Sakurai? Even 4 lines would be enough. Honestly, the ending in a literary sense is fine. For the average reader in this genre, they would probably be content. I could see this be a good ending if it was adapted to a TV show. I’m just annoyed that the author failed to bring closure to some of the major characters. Like, what is Lu Shu’s life like after the final battle? It mentions that he stays as a teacher, but what about outside of that? How are Lu Xiaoyu, Carol, Sakurai, Li Xianyi, Yun Yi, Chen Zu’an, and EVERYONE ELSE doing? Everything is left to the readers imagination. There is a lot of development regarding these characters, but it is not shown how they are living their lives post-final battle. Sora’s Distress Points: +999 Anyway, that is my rant. It is still one of my favorite books, but the ending could have been better (in my opinion). You might like it though, but you must wait for a year or so in order to read it with the official translation.
