2 Chapter 2

The Gremory Peerage treated me well enough while I literally wrote an essay about what had happened and my actions that were taken in said situation. Then with that all said and done, Rias, upon seeing my report in more detail kicked the situation over to Sona Sitri with the excuse that she needed to focus on her new Pawn.

Hence I was now sitting in front of Sona Sitri while she read the report I wrote while pinching the bridge of her nose. "A fallen just killing a Sacred Gear wielder in the middle of the town park is a huge issue... Although I wish you instead captured her so we could interrogate her for the source of her orders or see if she was truly a rouge agent but even still good work on killing her before she could cause more issues." Sona said wryly as she placed down the report.

Sona Sitri was a rather strict-looking young woman with short hair black that hung down to her shoulders, vibrant purple eyes behind a set of glasses, and she had a petite frame that contrasted with the beauties that filled her peerage that were all more curvy, to put it bluntly.

"Yes that fallen is an issue, but I have never seen fallen running around alone, even ones that strike out from the Grigori 'alone', they always at least have some stray exorcists that follow them around." I said and Sona picked up my hint and began frowning.

"You believe there to be a cell of Fallen Angels within my co-hosted territory?" She asked bluntly and I nodded making her frown.

"The old abandoned church on the corner of town." Sona hissed and then her eyes snapped to her queen Tsubaki. "Tsubaki have our familiars scout out the area while I continue speaking to our guest." She ordered respectfully and her queen bowed her head and left the room with a couple of the peerage members as Sona refocused on me.

"So I can feel the weight of the devil contracts on you. Are you some kind of contracted mage of a devil here for something?" She asked and I chuckled at that question as my bindings to my patrons were a lot more complicated than the devil's deals done here in DXD that never really amounted to much.

"Yeah basically, I am here to get some space to practice my craft and get stronger so I can fulfill some missions of my own to clear said contracts," I said truthfully making her raise an eyebrow.

Sona seemed to take in me a good bit and then she hummed before speaking. "So you are not bound to said devil for whatever deal that you made. And instead merely need to fulfill some kind of missions for whatever deal you made?" She asked smiling and I nodded while wondering what she was getting at before she coughed.

"I have wards here in the room that does a number of things, like let me know if people are lying and such, which makes dealing with a bunch of students causing issues much easier." At my bemused expression, Sona coughed elegantly into her fist before she spoke more seriously. "In any case, I was curious about what kinds of plans you were making for long-term goals and whether you had any thoughts on making a contract with another devil?"

At Sona's question, I blinked as I honestly expected her to invite me to join her peerage or something. And I would have refused as I already had a thin leash around my neck, I didn't need another one that was tighter... And more importantly how this one was likely to spank my bare ass in the middle of my colleagues if I ever fucked up.

"And offer so soon after meeting and just after I brought trouble to your front door?" I spoke somewhat jokingly and she seriously nodded pushing up her glasses making them flash against the reflective light coming down from the ceiling lights.

"Yes Jake Barris, I wish to make a Magician Contract with you as I have never had an opportunity for one as my parents wouldn't allow one to contract themselves to me due to politics with how almost all mages are attached to one of the magician schools or orders." She explained before pausing. "Everyone I approached, typically had a terrible attitude, was scared of my sister, or worse had a disdain for devils." Sona finished bluntly making me shake my head.

"In either case here is the contract for you to look at and think over for the next couple of days while we both observe one another." Sona said handing me the contract and I began reading it and it was honestly not fucking at all bad.

Sure there was the stipulation that once every six months Sona could call upon me to fill in a slot for one of her peerage members during a rating game if they needed to be subbed out or to fill in a hole in her peerage if the said piece didn't have a member. But in return for that one stipulation, I received two things.

First I received a seed of Sitri magic marking me as their contracted magician which gave me protection throughout the Underworld, and most importantly gave me limited access to the Sitri magics of Water Manipulation which I knew with my Magic Core I could actually gain full access to it.

Secondly, I would receive biweekly training from one of her peerage members in a disciple I desired along with a small retainer fee that would be paid to me to survive off of.

"This..." I started off double-checking and even held up the paper up the light to see if there was some kind of small print or hidden writing I couldn't see. "This contract is very advantageous to me?" I said in an open question and she snorted shaking her head.

"That it is, but frankly you are weak now magically speaking. So getting you stronger so I can offer a better contract in which we share our mana if we can come to an agreement is the most important thing. Plus I desire for my peerage members to become teachers in the magical school that focus on rating games in the future."

Sona truly smiled as she looked at me and then down at the contract. "So having them teach a novice is perfect in teaching themselves how to teach later on in the future as we are already well skilled in the logistics of running a school." She explained with a smile and I realized how many birds she was killing with one stone.

I nodded and then even ran my magic over the contract to see if I could get anything out of it and nope not a damned thing and nor did my senses scream at me this was a trap. And even if it was I could literally just suffer for a week before teleporting to another world so I just shrugged as I leaned forward to grab a letter opener on Sona's desk.

"So a blood fingerprint right?" I asked and she nodded dumbfounded as I slit my thump open and then stamped the contract and with a flourish of light I felt another contract fill my soul and almost form a tether to me and Sona with her twitching at the connection being made and frowning at the feeling.

"That was not a normal connecting being formed what kind of magican." She spoke but then her face twisted into shock as I raised a hand as magical knowledge was downloaded into my mind about the Sitri magic of water manipulation and then a lotus flower made out of ice appeared above my hand clearly made out of the demonic magical energy of the Sitri clan.

"You!" Sona started gaping at the ice lotus before face-palming as Tsubaki rushed into the room.

"Sona there is a whole cell of Fallen inside the abandoned church with a couple of dozen exorcists we need to call your sister for this diplomatic-" Tsubaki monologued before she and the other girls drew off seeing the ice lotus floating in my hands and then they looked back to Sona who flatly spoke.

"Yeah... I am calling my dear sister to deal sort all this out." She said looking at the ice lotus with something almost like jealousy.
