28 Chapter 28: Need a ship

Looking at the notification Max knew it was time to go.

"Well, Jake, We'll meet again." Max gave Jake a little pat on the back.

"Bye, Brother" Jake responded as he left Max's bedroom

It was a bitter end to their short friendship, But the two hoped to see each other again someday.

'I have no idea what I'm going to do in space, but whatever. I'll know what to do once I get there' Max thought

A while after Jake had left, Max got up and entered the elevator.

"Courteney, take me to the lab, please." Max requested

"The Lab?" Courtney repeated "I'm sorry but for now the lab is off-limits"

Hearing Courteney's straightforward rejection Max didn't know what to say. His entire plan relied on stealing a spacecraft.

"It's important." Max tried once again.

"As I said, I cannot take you to a restricted area. Please leave"

'I need to get rid of her... But how?'

The elevator room was made of solid dranite, he couldn't just bust through it, or could it?

'Inspect'

[ Object: Dranite Elevator ]

[ Energy: 100/Minute ]

[ Would you like to overload the elevator ]

[ Yes/No ]

[ Note: Overloading requires 10,000 Energy ]

'What the? I can overload it?'

Suddenly a smirk appeared across Max's face

"Courteney, what happens if the elevator is overloaded?" Max asked

"Excuse me?" His question had caught Courteney off guard "impossible, that can't happen, but if it does happen the elevator shaft a mechanism at the bottom which catches the elevator.

'Perfect' Max thought

"Yes"

As soon as he said yes Plasma started to radiate from his body, striking the dranite walls of the elevator.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Courteney cried "GET OUT NOW THE ELEVATOR IS GOING TO COLLAPSE!"

And within a few seconds, the lights present in the elevator had turned off. And soon the elevator began to descend rapidly

"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea" Max spoke as he could feel his diaphragm hitting his stomach.

Max was now descending faster, and faster. Max could feel the blood rushing to his brain. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. It was taking an enormous amount of strength for him to just stand straight.

After a few good minutes of descending hopelessly, the elevator came to an abrupt halt.

The emergency mechanism had kicked in.

"Phew"

The doors however would still not open.

'Ugh, how do I open the doors?' He thought

Looking at the dranite doors there was no crease in the middle of the doors that he could use to pry the doors apart.

[ Magnetic Field Manipulation: Activated ]

[ Plasma Ray: Activated ]

Which no other option left his best bet was blowing the door open with a plasma ray.

[ How much energy would you like to you? ]

[ Energy: 87,000/100,000 ]

Max held his open palm towards the door

"Use 1,000" He uttered.

Soon his palm started to glow bright blue and a ball of plasma could be seen forming from his palm

"Fire"

As soon as he said 'fire', a ray of plasma shot out of his palm shooting straight into the door.

'Please melt' he prayed internally

[...]

With every second that passed his energy level would drop by 1,000

After what seemed like an eternity the door finally started to melt, and soon a hole as big as his palm had been created within the dranite doors.

'Dranite has a melting point of 5,000 degrees Celsius' He thought 'My plasma is powerful'

Max could see the lab through the hole he had created through the elevator, panic had erupted within the lab, guards had surrounded the elevator.

-"WHO ARE YOU?" Asked a guard

-"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Asked another

"Could you help me open this?" Max requested

Hearing Max's question the guards went silent, they didn't know how to respond.

"Guess not," Said Max as he grabbed the door using the holes he had created and started using them to pry the elevator open.

'I hope the gears on this thing aren't made of dranite' He prayed.

Noticing what Max was doing, the guards had opened fire on him, the dranite door acted as a good shield but his exposed hands were taking quite the beating.

His hands would burn and then quickly regenerate themselves.

*CRACK* *SNAP*

Sounds could be heard coming from the elevator doors, they had started to open.

'COME ON JUST A BIT HARDER!'

[ Plasma shield: Activate ]

The doors suddenly went flying, revealing a ball of bright blue plasma.

[ 100 EXP will be awarded for every guard beaten ]

[ 1,000 EXP + 10 Stat Points will be awarded for every guard eaten ]

'I'm not eating anyone, but beating them is something I can do' he thought

[ Dash: Activated ]

Max dashed forward punching every guard in sight, it was free EXP. Each guard would be sent flying with just one hit.

Seeing the Havoc that Max was causing, all the scientists gathered in one corner of the room. They were all shaking from fear. Some had even peed themselves.

It didn't Take long for Max to deal with all the guards, and now he was slowly making his way towards the scientists.

-"Please stay away!" One begged

-"I have a kid and a family! Please!" Another pleaded

-"I haven't even gotten married yet!"

Hearing all of them cry did make Max feel sad, but he had no intentions of hurting them. All he needed was a spaceship.

"I need a ship" Max uttered

Hearing his demand the scientist all looked at each other, visibly confused before finally pushing one of the scientists forward.

"So? Where is it?" Max asked the short, scrawny looking scientist

"U-uh f-follow me" The scientist stuttered.

The scientist led Max towards the left of the laboratory, to what looked like a massive keltal door.

On the left of the door was a handprint scanner

The scientist swiftly unlocked the door revealing an array of different spaceships.
